Here’s a perfect scenario to eat some onigiris(Japanese rice balls with various fillings, wrapped in seaweeds): I did not have time at night due to work, and had to wake up really early the next day to catch a flight. Who would have time to prepare breakfast? Onigiris come in handy — especially because it is located so close to where I live(PV128 Genting Klang, Setapak). Niko Niko Onigiri sells plenty type of Japanese dishes with fairly low price since PV128 is pretty much students’ area. So far I only tried their fried salmon, chicken, and tori onigiri, and my favourite is the chicken onigiri — although all of them are yummy too! :) Oh and it is perfect for next day’s breakfast because it’s edible cold, hot, or even room temperature; so it does not always require to be heated up and can be eaten on the go. The store is setup in a Taiwanese style; with a lot of post-it notes on the wall, wall arts, and many other cute decorations. It is double storey, wi-fi connected, and is equipped with airconds. Can be a choice of spot to chill with friends or to get some work done. :)

Niko-niko is one of my favourite breakfast spots in Setapak! It is a tiny shop located next to the Pat Kin Pat Sun restaurant. Onigiri means rice ball in English, this restaurant sells wide variety of rice balls everyday with reasonable prices! The rice balls are only being packed when you have ordered and paid so that you can get fresh and warm onigiri, but no to worry as each onigiri only costs about 2 minutes to be prepared. Hence I often call them in the morning before I leave the house to order what I want, so when I get there I can just pay and take-out(it’s really fast). Plus the rice ball itself has its own packaging which is very convenient for people to eat outside without physical contact with the food(hand wash skipped!). I often buy 2 flavour of rice balls(1 is definitely not enough for me) and finish them right before class started which cost me about RM5. Well the shop also sells other meals such as ramen, udon, sushi, bento, etc. All of them are Japanese food and they are Halal. Just save the number to your cellphone and call them to make orders when you are in a hurry!
