Basil serves great Thai food at an affordable price! The pandan chicken was FANTASTIC and the service here is tip top! Their mango sticky rice is a must try too!

It’s good Thai food and affordable. A great combo! Get the steamed siakap with chili and ginger if you are in group. However do be warned as it is quite spicy. The thai green curry does have a way of becoming spicier and it will burn with every spoonful. And for beverage, u can’t go wrong with the iced pandai juice.

BV is one of the shopping mall that I used to hang out for dinner. So, there were a few times when I passed by the Thai Restaurant after the dinner and it smells damn good. So today I’ve decided to pay a visit to Basil Thai Noodle Bar and give it a try. The ambience of the restaurant was quite good as it fills with the smells of Thai spices. We had ordered a Tomyam soup for two person servings, Kang Kung Belacan and Pandan Chicken. Personally, I think the food was OK only, not up to my expectation. The Kang Kung Belacan tasted a little sweet, rather than spicy. However, the Tomyam was served with hot pot to keep the warm which i think its quite thoughtful. The portion is not big as well, but the portion of rice was too huge for lady. lol! Speedy food service! :)

I had a date here for the first time a long time ago with a super young handsome Doctor where I was first introduced to this restaurant. Located at Bangsar Village 1, Basil Thai Nudle Bar offers authentic Thai food served like how they would in Thailand. I’m not surprised that the same restaurant is there even years after that date(I was in my early 20s!). Whenever a family member or friends come from outta town, I would bring them here because I know that we wouldn’t be upset with the food they serve. It’s one of those restaurants I know I don’t mind spending a bit because the food adventure is almost worth it every time! The Tom Yam’s there are a bit pricey but the presentation and the taste totally makes you not care. You can get a Tom Yam bowl there(can be shared between 3 – 4 ppl) for less than RM20. What I would normally order is the Basil Minced beef with white rice there which goes for only RM15++, it may be a bit pricey but it is so worth it!

I really have a lot of love and hate relationship with this place. Love of course because I think the food is amazing. The minced chicken with basil leaf is really good, the green curry chicken noodle is super spicy and yummy, the clear tom yam noodle soup is amazing, the pineapple fried rice is really huge in portion and perfectly cooked, mango sticky rice is just BEST, I don’t mind coming here everyday but then… service is horrible, the waitress seems like they lost most of the time. I remembered once I came there around 9PM on sunday night. My boyfriend and I sit down and ordered our dish. I ordered clear tom yam soup and I specifically asked not to have sotong there, and obviously they brought the food with sotong. I asked them to change the sotong to fish, and instead of adding fish, they smashed the fish into small pieces so that it looks more. I can’t even believe them. I decided not to make drama, even though they brought chinese tea that we didn’t order for three times and put it in our bill. It was that horrible. Apparently it happened to another table because a manager have to talk to another table to apologise. Overall, if I should rate this place based on service, then it would be horrible, but I’m glad at least they can still provide good food. Hopefully this service doesn’t hurt them in the future

I’ve been going to Basil ever since it first opened. Back then, I enjoyed the fact that it had a nice full view of Bangsar. It was especially nice to have dinner there on Sunday nights because you could see the Bangsar pasar malam in its full glory through the huge windows. Ambience aside, let’s talk about the food. Food there is delicious, enough said. I always go for the rice with minced chicken and sunny side up when I’m there alone(yes, I eat here alone from time to time), but when I’m with my family, we would order the steamed fish, and some sides. So good. The tom yam may be a little on the spicy side for some, but I really like it. Service is quite fast here, and prices are reasonable. A;; of the above make for good reasons to keep coming back here from time to time.

This was one of the very first restaurants I went to in KL. I’m not the biggest Thai food fan but this was really just a nice experience that I thought was worth telling. A friend advised me to get the Stirfried Beef with basil. It was quite spicy for my taste but very well cooked and different from anything I’ve ever had. It was so good the next times I went there I ordered the same thing even though I like to try new things. The service was really good and the waiter made sure I knew what I was about to order and cleared all my doubts before writing my order down. The price was okay and overall it was a nice experience.

I’ve always been a big fan of Thai food. The spiciness, the mixture of exotic spices and the mind blowing flavours that comes from their unique dishes. Basil Leaf to me provides all that and more. They’ve got a delightful menu; from seafood to sizzling beef. This particular outlet is my absolute favourite, the location is more than convenient for people who comes to Bangsar Village often. However the last time i went here, i was a bit annoyed with how lousy the air conditioning was. For some reason, the air-conditioner was no where near powerful enough to cool the restaurant. I was actually sweating by the time my Tom Yam came. But that’s just the thing, the Tom Yam was so good, that i couldn’t be bothered with the temperature. The coconut taste to the Tom Yam makes so addictive. You tend to refill your bowl until you can’t take it anymore. I had also ordered a plate of stir fried beef with cili sauce. It was particularly good when i mixed it with my rice and Tom Yam soup. I literally couldn’t get enough of it. And the Fruit Punch Mocktail just washed it all down nicely. I wasn’t really a fan of their dessert, but the ice cream was pretty good though. However, i would’t really recommend you to have dessert here. I mean it is a Thai restaurant after all. They’re not usually known for their dessert. Overall, for a reasonable price, you can get a complete Thai meal. Whether you want chicken, beef or seafood. The dishes here are all prepared uniquely and almost all of it has a certain zing to it. It’s either the burst of spiciness or flavours. Either way, i’m rarely disappointed when i have dinner here. Keep in mind, during weekends it can get really packed. But don’t fret, you can just reserve a table beforehand.

Basil– Thaï Nudle Bar offers amazing menu options. my very favourite is the Fried chicken in Pandan leaf. If you are more into salads then you may want to go with Green Papaya Salad with Dry Shrimp. The service is not as good as the food. but if you are not alone you wouldn’t notice. I was alone there so I could actually notice every bit of delay. so not as much fun as when with friends. The restaurant has an open space, so wouldn’t suggest it for a romantic dinner but more for a family lunch or dinner. I loved the architecture of the restaurant and lights.

If you love Thai food, Basil Thai Nudle Bar the perfect place for you. I found it in Bangsar Village in the first week when I arrived here. The price for the food is perfect and the food is amazing, But what I like about the place is the interior design, because it’s kinda funky. But going back to the food… I always order either Pineapple Rice or Sweat & Sour Chicken… both of this dishes I simply adore… and the desert… Mango Sticky Rice is just amazing. So if you didn’t have Thai food ever before, I recommend this 3 dishes. And if you are a Thai food lover, I recommend you this place.

I was following a friend who was running errands in Bangsar(because I had nothing spectacularly better to do with my day then) when we were feeling a little hungry. We didn’t want to go to the normal spots we would usually hit when were hungry in Bangsar and we wanted to try something new. Absolute Thai was that place. I had a big breakfast before that so I was in the mood for a little dessert, my friend ordered the soupy noodle dish and I ordered the sticky rice and mango dessert, which is my go-to dessert in any Thai restaurant. The place felt a lot like a fast food joint to me and I didn’t know why(maybe because the tables were set up in booths which looked a lot like the ones at McDonalds… yeah that’s it.) our food arrived in true fast-food spirit as well. My dessert was absolutely scrumptious and I had a bite of the spicy noodle my friend ordered. Both were fantastic and complimented each other really well. You now know where to go now for your fast-food cravings, Thai edition.

I love spicy food, so there’s no way I would say«No» to Thai food. There are many Thai restaurants around in Klang Valley but only a few made it into my «decent list». I was suggested by my mom to try out Basil Thai Nudle Bar in Bangsar Village 1. The restaurant is located at the Lower Ground of Bangsar Village 1, next to Caring Pharmacy. What would be your«go to» dish in a Thai restaurant? Mine would be the Pineapple Rice and Tom Yum Soup. The Pineapple Rice was served in an actual Pineapple — the rice was fluffy and flavourful but it could definitely use some extra pineapples in it. The one thing that I love about the rice is the cashews in it, which added nutty flavours to the rice. A recommendation for all of you spicy food lovers out there, add in some chili paste into the fried rice — spice it up a little to keep your appetite going. On the other hand, the Tom Yum wasn’t that impressive. Flavour wise, it was average but definitely was spicy. Same goes to the Mango Sticky Rice — not the best I’ve had as it was lacking of some sweetness.
