Hands down the best chicken wrap I’ve ever had! The ingredients were fresh, the staff were excellent and the atmosphere is right on.

The best place to grab a quick sandwich or salad and not feel guilty! They use quality ingredients and the menu items are creative and delicious! I wish this place opened up a location near CCSU, where I go to school. Finding tasty healthy food is so hard sometimes, and I’m always on the go, no time to go home and eat.

Finally got to try this spot out for lunch and I was not disappointed! The food is fresh and they have a selection of drinks that are different than most other sandwich shops. The spot is small but cozy and the décor is warm and inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful and could tell my sister and I had never been before so they gave us a run down of the menu. There are a lot of options for meat eaters and vegetarians so it’s a great spot for breakfast or lunch for anyone that enjoys fresh made to order food. I had the Alexandria salad and my sister had the on special strawberry walnut salad. We both enjoyed our meals and hope to visit again soon!

Fresh food, friendly staff. A great lunch spot. Good portions for the salads and the soup bowls are HUGE! Had a butternut squash soup there about a month ago that was to die for. If you’re looking for a lunch spot with fresh soups, salads, and sandwiches, give this place a try.

The food here is fantastic. They just recently started serving breakfast based on their regular sandwich lineup and it is superb. This is definitely the best breakfast wrap around. I’ve tried the #3am(Based on the Matador, including roasts beef, roast peppers and chipotle horseradish), #7am(avocado, pico, delicioso) and the BCB, buffalo chicken(egg) bacon. All amazing. If you’re bored with your breakfast, stop by the eatery and try just about anything on the menu.

The Eatery is maybe my favorite deli, like, ever. I’ve tried a bunch of different wraps off their regular menu now, along with several of the daily specials, and everything is consistently phenomenal. My go-to is the #10 aka the Savannah Chicken, and that honey-bacon dressing is out of this damn world. They open at 9am now and offer breakfast wraps till noon and I can’t wait to get there in time to try one! The interior is really well done too, and relatively speaking there’s plenty of sitting room for such a small space. Plenty of offerings for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike.

Possibly the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The bread is fresh and amazing, perfect textures. All the ingredients taste fresh, the in-house– made everything is the icing on the healthy, delicious, figurative cake. I make it a point to eat here every chance I get. So good.

One of my new favorite places ever! The food is fresh and outstanding, the staff is kind and helpful and the décor is very cool. It’s like you have stepped into another town than Wallingford. I wish there were more places like this. The Vito panini is my favorite and I love their specials as well! If you are looking for a good lunch spot, this is it! Amazing! Also make sure to get a punch card!

I had the pleasure of finally stopping by and trying some of the sandwiches here a few weeks back and can confirm its deliciousness. I had the recommended Mesa Verde sandwich and also a seasonal sandwich with autumn starches and greens, which went just right for my fall visit. I have the pleasure of going a ways back with John Masella and couldn’t be happier for him and all of those who have made The Eatery possible. I heard through the grapevine(Google) of its existence and find its atmosphere very warm and inviting due to such friendly staff. If you are a Wallingford native like me then come check out a fresh breath of air that is this establishment.

Was lucky enough to find this place while just passing through town. First of all, it’s adorable inside and the girl behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I had the Douglas– Turkey with cranberry jalapeño relish. The sandwich was very good and they even serve gluten free bread! Score! Looking for a good lunch or light dinner? Definitely try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Eatery has been very consistent. and has found a following. I was excited for them to see large groups of people coming in at 11am, when I thought i was sneaking in before the rush! My go-to is the buffalo chicken on ciabatta with a foxon birch beer. Perfection.

Love this place! I have to say, I had no clue what to expect when I pulled up. This little café is perfect for a quick lunch stop but has limited seating so be warned. They have lots of veggie friendly and low calorie options as well — the menu mostly consists of sandwiches, paninis, wraps, soups and salads. Today I tried the special squash panini — it was SOGOOD. The perfect size as well! We splurged and split a NY glazed donut for dessert as well and were certainly not disappointed. Definitely stop by! The service is phenomenal and the food is even better.

Spontaneously stopped in here with a friend for a late lunch. It’s a very cute space, with about 10 – 12 chairs and 4 tables inside.(There is some outdoor seating, but it overlooks a cemetery, which is my guess as to why no one was sitting out there.) There are lots of great-looking sandwich options, but we opted for the single vegetarian option, the Cypress Garden($ 8). I was a little skeptical at first, but it was seriously one of the best vegetarian sandwiches I’ve ever had. The chickpea smash and goat cheese were a winning combination, and the grilled veggies had a smoky flavor. If they do veggies this good, I can’t imagine how good their meat options are, haha. They do have a bathroom, but they don’t make it very public. It’s back behind the building in their warehouse space. It’s an interesting«tour» there.

As promised in my previous review, I would make it back here to give this adorable, hip, little Eatery another shot. Can’t say my previous review is off by much. I was welcomed by a counter staff member, placed an order for a special(buffalo chicken, cheddar, bacon and chipotle mayo) as well as pasta salad. Much to my surprise this visit the front display was stocked with a few choices for sides, and desserts. The wait was less than 10 minutes and I was on my way home. My sandwich was delicious. The buffalo sauce has just the right amount of kick to it, but it wasn’t hot temperature wise. I ordered it grilled. The pasta salad was warm, pasta salad is not supposed to be warm, ever. It’s got cheese and vegetables in it. I’ve come to the conclusion this place has an issue with temperature control. It’s impossible that two visits, spaced over 7 months that’s the same issue. People seem to love this place, so either I’m missing something or it’s just a case of unfortunate events when I come. Either way, I like how involved this place is with the community and the look its bringing to downtown Wallingford. I won’t be back to eat, but maybe I’ll swing by for a tea or something after the farmers market.

«Is this place hipster» is actually a question on Unilocal?Oyyyy. Well to answer your question, no, it’s not. It’s a cute little café that’s a much welcome change from the unnecessary amount of Italian delis on route 5. I was craving soup for lunch, so I turned to Unilocal for suggestions near my office. The Eatery came up, and I’ve had it bookmarked since they opened, so I decided to venture here this afternoon. The first thing I noticed was how inviting The Eatery is. The décor is great, they pull off the industrial chic look quite well and I agree with Joe C., it’s not what you’d expect to find in Wallingford. There were some tables to sit at, and based on the other reviews this must be a recent addition. Nothing extravagant, but sufficient for a place this size and a great place to meet a friend for lunch. The staff was extremely friendly and warm, which just added to how welcoming this place is. A+ on staff and décor. The menu was pretty standard for a café, lots of paninis, wraps, and salads. Again, a breath of fresh air from the delis in the area, but pretty typical for a café. Initially I was pleasantly surprised at their prices.$ 2 for an iced coffee, $ 3 for a quesadilla, half of a panini or wrap with a small soup for $ 7, much more reasonable than I expected. Service was just as quick as it was pleasant, between that and the positive Unilocal reviews, my expectations were fairly high at this point. I opted for the half panini with a small soup, I got grilled veggies with provolone cheese, EVOO, and balsamic. The soup of the day was chicken noodle which is exactly what I was craving. The panini was decent, the veggies were fresh and grilled well and it was relatively flavorful, but other than that I was underwhelmed. The panini was unbelievably small and the amount of «stuff» inside was negligible, which you can see in my pictures. There was one small piece of provolone stuck onto the bread, and a few pieces of grilled veggies. I would’ve been okay with the miniscule sandwich had they actually stuffed it with veggies, but this serving size was something you’d feed a seven year old. The soup was good, basic chicken noodle soup with carrots, again, nothing amazing, but it was sufficient and similarly sized to a cup of soup from a diner. All in all, the food was just okay. Based on food I’d come back, but the portion sizes were way off. I would’ve rather paid an extra dollar or two for something that would actually satisfy my hunger, because an hour and a half later I’m already ready for a snack. Overall, it’s difficult to say whether or not I’ll be back. I’d like to say I’d be willing to give them another try if their portion sizes were improved, but otherwise, I’m gonna have to say it’s unlikely that I’ll be back.

YUM! Was in the area and was craving a good sandwich. Had another place in mind but it was closed. So I said«what the heck! I’ll keep driving.» And what a lucky chain of events because I found this little place on the corner! The interior is cozy and small but there are a couple tables to sit at. I ordered the #6 sandwich on ciabatta. It was prosciutto and mozzarella with a delicious basil pesto. The bread was absolutely delectable and fresh. The combo of mozzarella with the salty prosciutto was perfect and the basil pesto was the perfect compliment. It was HUGE and hearty and did I mention DELICIOUS?!? I was so happy I stopped here! It was under $ 7 for a huge sandwich and a bag of chips. What a pleasant surprise! I am glad the other place was closed because now I know where to get an awesome sandwich at an awesome price. Plus: friendly workers! Can you get any better?! I think not!
