I have been with Petra since before I got married. It is my pleasure to sit there every 23 days to control «the too much information highway» that shows up on the top of my head. My hair has never looked better and I am always thoroughly entertained while I am there.
The salon is conveniently located downtown in a Victorian landmark house. It is comfortable and you can see your car while having your hair done if you are smart enough to park in the free lot off Thompson behind pizza man Dans.
Manucures, massages, waxing and counseling on personal problems are available. All of the stylist there are fun, funny and a joy to chat with. The prices are reasonable and below market for the neighborhood.
Walk-​ins are welcome (to hang out, mostly) but make an appointment, I have been able to get in the same day and almost always the same week.

I don’t know who Suzanne Z. is, why there’s no info about her and why her only review is sooooo damn negative. But after getting the best experience with my hair being colored and cut by Petra, for myself I’m able to figure out that this is totally some competitor’s mean trick. And this stupid statement that she never gets the same color is a pure lie (during highlighting Petra had to mix colorants 4 times, and still all my hair looks even and simply stunning).
Long hair highlighting and a cut both took her about 3 hours, so the price of 95 $ seems pretty fair to me. She owns this business for 18 years and is totally professional. Moreover, Petra has a great personality too, so my walk-​in turned out to to be an awesome experience, better than any US beauty salon so far!

I was Petra’s client for years while I lived in Oxnard when she was in her shop in Fishermans Wharf. After I moved to Ventura I found someone in Ventura. I was delighted to discover recently that after a dreadful fire in her shop in Oxnard that she had relocated to Ventura. Her new place is utterly charming. I love the ambiance in the restored historical Victorian home in downtown Ventura on California near Marina Sushi. I enjoy the energy of Petra, Lori and Angela. There’s something dynamically fun and nurturing about these women in cohorts together, providing high end spa services for women and men. I’m thrilled to have Petra applying her incredible experience, talent, skill and artistry to my hair. Hard to believe I deviated from her for so long but I sure am glad to have reconnected! I keep telling her this is the best my hair has ever looked and it just keeps gettin’ better and better each time I see her. This is due in part to the cutting edge new leave-​in product she has turned me on to which has restored the health, shine and condition of my over processed hair.

I have to say that the care and attention that you receive here is exceptional. They go out of their way to ensure you are properly treated and cared for.
Wonderful ambience and excellent service. The girls make you very comfortable and actually put a smile on your face. Most important, they do an excellent job on your hair, nails or whatever service they are performing on your body. I highly recommend them if you want your hair and nails to look fabulous.

Renaissance is now located on California Street, in Ventura. Situated in a gorgeous, historic Victorian building, easy parking, lovely gardens. Petra is still tops in my book! I get lots of compliments on my hair, thanks to Ms. Petra!
