It’s tad pricy, I sat at the bar and the bartender was still really interactive with me even having a lot of people to help. The place wasn’t packed but the orders from the whole movies go through here. I normally like trying a seasonal beers. Sometimes I don’t know what I want and he let me try a couple to determine which pared Nicely with the meal. Really out going. Would come here again. Food was amazing chicken tenders the bomb and three dipping sauces no extra charge. Love it

We came late on a Saturday night after a friend’s wedding though not realizing they were closing in 15 minutes. Chet(Chase? Something like that but dude was totally cute) was super cool and totally okay with us staying. We felt bad and would have been okay with just heading out but he had no problem serving us. He was super attentive to us and didn’t forget about us even though he had closing duties to do and our food came out quick. Portobello fries always A+++++.

This restaurant is connected to the theater. And yes its a 21+ age only. We came here for dinner or quick snack and the problem was we were told we would have enough time to eat and go into the theater. Unfortunately, I don;t think so. So we ended up telling them to bring it to us when we are in the theater. The food was not bad. It was pretty good. I do recommend coming here. I mean I loved the fries. It was nice fresh and yes tasty. I had the beef slider. Not bad for theater food. I wasn’t expecting high quality. :-)

Came few times to meet friends for HH. Each time bar and restaurant was almost empty. Service was slow and food below average mall food. Last time came right when HH started and server gave us regular menu and disappeared for 15 min. When he came back I asked if we could have HH Menu and confirmed HH time. Oh yeah sometimes we have HH sometimes we don’t was his answer. What!!!

Great theater but eat before you go. The service was very slow and the food was not worth the wait.

I’ve been here a few times. The movie theater is great but the restaurant is slightly better than the food at the mall food court. Service is slow but the décor and atmosphere are really cool. Not a bad option if you’re already here but would never go out of my way to eat here.

I have been to Brewtopia twice and the food has been excellent! The pizza and the hummus plate were both great, but my favorite was the burger with goat cheese — delicious! The fresh, hand-cut fries that were with the burger were outstanding. Some reviews have stated their drinks were watered down but with me that was not the case. I ordered vodka and cranberry juice on each visit, with no complaints there. The staff was polite and helpful, from the bar tender to the wait staff. They were all friendly and doing a great job. The bar was perfectly lit and comfortable. I love the large fire place! I’m confused as to why people are complaining about going through the gift shop to enter the restaurant and why they would find that weird. Everyone is welcome to enter through the main doors, skipping the gift shop altogether. However, as a fan of movies and superheroes, I enjoy the gift shop and see it as a fun place to browse. My only issue with Brewtopia is the price of the mac & cheese. At $ 14.95(add $ 1.99 for bacon or $ 2.99 for chicken or sausage) it is the most expensive item on the menu and the same price as the nachos and the fish & chips. This is not reasonable, as noodles and cheese are not on the same level as a grilled salmon sandwich($ 12.99) or Kobe blend burger($ 10.99). However, I am willing to try the happy hour mac & cheese with bacon for $ 5.99. Brewtopia is a great lunch or dinner location and is even better if you see a movie in the cozy theaters. I plan on going back.

Just had lunch at Brewtopia. Really good fish and chips! I’m sort of a fish and chips connoisseur; I order it everywhere it’s served. Theirs was really crispy with a house made beer batter on cod, 3 pieces per order. The batter definitely did not overwhelm the fish. Fries were fairly thin and crunchy. Served with a nice house made tartar sauce and plenty of ketchup. My husband’s pesto pasta was good too. The atmosphere was that of a huge vacuous sports bar and probably great for people who are into that. We are not, so going at lunch time when we were almost alone in the restaurant was perfect. Nice friendly service.

Half-price beer all-day Mondays and Thursdays! You can take your local puny 2-hour happy hour and shove it twice a week. Oh, Brewtopia has a happy hour(3:00 — 5:30 daily) as well if you are looking for additional discounts on appetizers and grub, too. Since I’d already eaten, I just popped into Brewtopia for a beer and to watch MNF on TV. For munchies, I got an order of the Hand-cut Fries($ 6.99) with Sea Salt and Black Pepper. What the soft limp fries lacked in quality was made up for in quantity as the largest single serving of fries I’ve ever seen. Team Carbs! Of course, Brewtopia is known for its variety of local, domestic, and international draft beers. I chose the most local beer of all: Loowit Shadow Ninja(Vancouver, WA) from the IPA section. With 50%-off, it was just $ 3.50. This ninja brew has a sneaky 49IBU and 6.4% ABV. Brewtopia is huge with a couple large projector TVs and probably enough seating for 100 people. It’s also somehow connected to the Cinetopia theater in Vancouver Mall, but I didn’t care or spend time to find out how. I also have no idea why it was empty with only a handful of customers. My hunch is that most folks don’t yet know about the half-price suds. So, I repeat … Half-price beer all-day Mondays and Thursdays!

I have only ordered in at the theatre but overall the food is ok. My husband used to get the philly cheese steak but stopped after they switched cooks and they decided the sandwich no longer needed a sauce. Now its dry and tasteless. Overall the food is mediocre and expensive, if I wasn’t starved and at the movies then I wouldnt go out of my way to eat there.

I may have maxed out my character limit on this review, but jeez, a lot of things went wrong here… My husband, 4 year old son and I decided to try this place out since it says«family restaurant» on the outside. We entered the restaurant, or so we thought. It was more of a gift shop. We wandered through, not sure if we were in the right place and when we reached the end, there was a man standing at a register fiddling with something. It was clear we were lost and he never said one thing to us, even though we were the ONLYONES in that shop area! At the end we saw the restaurant entry and proceed in. The place was dark and had a club-like atmosphere. We we’re given iPad’s, menus, and a kids menu, then sat down. The place says«Family Restaurant» on the outside, but they had no activities for kids. The kids menu was simply a list of food options for kids. No crayons, no super-easy maze, no nothing. The hostess informed us that the menu was on the iPad as well as trailers for movies. My son, who like most 4 year-olds these days, knows his way around an iPad, instantly wanted to play on the thing. In order to go online you needed a password, so my son asked the waitress«can I have the password please?» And her response was«umm… I don’t know the password.» That was it, no explanation, no «Well, those iPad’s are only for the use of the menu» or «I don’t know the password, but let me find out for you», nothing. It was awkward to say, «okay, thank you». The server took our order pretty quickly, but then 20+ minutes went by and we realized it was Sunday, the mall may be closing soon. We googled it and saw the mall closed at 6pm. Since it was Memorial day weekend, we thought it was possible that the mall may close later. So we asked the server«Do you know if the mall closes later today, since it’s Memorial Day weekend?» and her response was the same as before«Umm… I don’t know…» and that’s it. No, «I’m not sure, let me ask if my manager knows.» or anything! I mean, this place is IN the mall, you’d think one of those people would have had the answer. So we just called the customer service number and found it ourselves. After what seemed like forever(probably 30 – 35 minutes) we got our food. My son ordered the hot dog and french fries, which he loved! I ordered the mac-n-cheese which the server handed to me, like, in my hands, then after I grabbed a piping hot plate said«It’s kind of hot». It was just a few degrees shy of me having to throw it. My husband ordered the Loaded Fries(which he decided on because by the time he added cheese, the cheeseburger would have been close to $ 20!). These fries were like 10 shades darker than the fries on my sons meal, and COVERED in dry, un-melted Parmesan cheese, and a s&#t-ton of Rosemary! Like, I took a bite and my mouth tasted like I ate a glob of Vapo-rub! My husband was picking through, trying to eat the fries and the sparse bits of bacon, but he was having trouble. The restaurant was so dark and the french fries were so overcooked and dark that he couldn’t see what was french fry and what was bacon.(see attached photo). You’d expect«Loaded Fries» to at least have something melted or. wet(for lack of a better term). All the toppings fell off into one big pile on the bottom of the plate. No bueno. A couple more things… At some point my husband accidentally knocked over his full glass of water. There were like 3 employees standing at the hostess booth about 8 feet from us and no one came over to help! I’m sorry, but in the restaurant world, if you hear that terrible«glass knocked over» sound, you come to attention. It resounded throughout the place! So we just sopped up the water with our napkins, what we could anyway. Also, the prices are SOHIGH! My husband works in the bar at a 4-Star hotel in Portland that is notorious for high prices. The prices of the beer are higher than at his hotel. He was shocked. Overall, I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. DONOTGO! We won’t be back. Advice for the restaurant? Lower your prices, turn up the lights a bit, and invest time and money in developing great customer service training. It will be worth it in the end. That, or hire people who give a s&%t. Or can at least pretend they do while they are clocked in.

I only go here if I have a Groupon or a coupon from a local savings book. The prices are outrageous and way outside of the sensibilities of the market in Central Vancouver. The ambiance is cold and the interior looks like it was done by someone’s relative who had a big checkbook and experience watching HGTV. I want to at least like the food, but it is not anything special and the portions are not up to the standard of the prices. The salads are astronomically priced for how little you get. The«Kobe» beef burger is as bland as they come… if that meat isn’t already frozen, then they need to really re-think the kitchen staff. As it is, don’t expect anything other than the impression of an upscale experience. Oh yeah, the desserts are almost always sold out… at 6pm? The place is virtually never more than 30−50% full(even on Fridays and Saturdays when the movies are rockin’ attendance records). The one saving grace is that the service is not slow — for the most part. Although, there definitely doesn’t seem to be a bounce in their steps. The bar is terrible. You can’t even face it it’s so bright with TV’s compared to the rest of the room. The seats are awkward and the height of the bar is strange. I’m tall and it still made me feel like a kid asking for milk(make it a chocolate, long day). This does not bode well for ladies who might want to sit at the bar for more than one drink — and every restaurant NEEDS women to be credible. Here’s my biggest gripe: The name vs. what they deliver. Their beer selection is no better than your average trip to the worst Fred Meyer in town… only it costs 10x’s more. I kid you not, they are charging for beer what most places charge for a mid-shelf, not well martini! How about you charge me normal prices and I’ll buy more than one… and so will everyone else. I want to cut this place some slack because Vancouver needs more upscale establishments… and the concept could really work… but I’ve been 3 times now and have walked out so frustrated by the experience that I just don’t know how sustainable it is. There are recurring themes in all the reviews and I just don’t know if it is fixable without an overhaul. It relies so heavily on couponing, that it goes against the upscale proposition. The theaters are doing fine as far as the eyeball test goes, but this restaurant is not. It is likely losing money. I guarantee that more movie-goers eat at the sushi place or Pita Pit right outside than in this restaurant. Fix: * Overhaul the gaudy inside and make it warmer. * Lower prices by at least 20% * Get your food costs in line to maintain margin — stop serving crappy expensive beef, etc. * Get rid of goofy looking plates. * Get the eylines of the inside done in such a way that people can actually see around and in to see that others are already there. * Get that awful high weird table out of the middle and make it a better communal option, then put more people at it. * Get a better happy hour and get known for it. * Make a place called«Brewtopia» actually be that for beer drinkers. Lower your prices, bring in more unique rotating taps, and come up with a tasting/sampling program to drive more revenue and experience that is tied to the brand.

Ya know I have worked in the food industry for about 15 years now… I gotta say the FOH does pretty good. BOH you need some new Management. Get a Lead Chef that cares about what he does and treats his staff right. Ya might get some quality food to finally come out of the kitchen. Until than… when you open up 4 — 5 theaters at the same time… you will have an hour ish wait. You run the same gauntlet everyday… and yet you fail most days. Step up a better BOH Management Staff and you might actually start getting better reviews…

Cool atmosphere… decent food. The whole place is just odd though. You walk through a toy store when you get there and it’s just weird. The service was poor. Our waiter was nice but so slow… and it’s 6.45 $ for a pint of beer that you have to wait 15 minutes for. All in all, I think it’s just poorly managed. The food is pretty good, but too expensive for what you’re getting.

I don’t understand why this place has such terrible reviews! The food is delicious. The portions are HUGE. The prices are in line with most gourmet restaurants. I’m not a fan of the overpriced booze, but can get over that for the amazing dishes they offer. Happy hour menu pricing is great. You can order in the bar and take it to the theater with you. Menu options are constantly changing. My only complaint is that their booze/food buyers are not very well trained. They are almost always out of the pear cider I enjoy. The last time we dined in the restaurant(which was Christmas Eve), they were out of many menu items. I’m not sure if that’s because they didn’t anticipate the huge crowd that day, or just poor planning in general, but it was quite frustrating. Otherwise, the chefs are amazing, as are many of the bartenders we’ve encountered. Buy a Groupon and give it a shot!

I have been coming to this location since they opened and I can tell the recent changes. I’ve never had a bad experience but just went into tonight and it was different. The drinks and food were good like usual and though it can be slow, you understand when you finally get to your movie. So many orders are going in and out. They even had a maître d!!! You can tell they are stepping up!

Like that I can get a beer before the movie and then take into said movie. Like that there are a LOT of sports on in the bar area. What I don’t like is the weird beer pricing(if you look at the beer menu you’ll see what I mean), the incredibly inexperienced staff(the last bartender had me explain to her how to make a whiskey ginger), and the aforementioned spotty service. We’ve learned that if we need to use a Groupon we need to show up TWO hours early to make sure we make our movie in time, its like trying to catch a flight. this place has SO much potential, hopefully a brew expert can come along and set some of these things straight.

In the immortal words of Michael Scott: «I don’t hate it, I just don’t like it at all. And it’s terrible.» I really wanted to like this location. Vinotopia seems to have it down so I figured Brewtopia would follow suit. However, the service at this location is severely lacking. I’ve eaten at this theatre easily more than a dozen times since it’s opening. A few spent directly inside of Brewtopia, many others ordering off the Brewtopia menu in one of the Living or Parlor rooms before a show. The food is generally ok considering it’s a theatre. The wraps and burgers are decent, the sweet potato fries are better than decent, and the pasta and salads get the job done. I really can’t complain about the actual food as it’s much better than the fare at any other local theatre chain. Drinks are average. Who doesn’t want to order something with Gandalf in the name? The staff is mostly crap. Now, I’m not going to generalize and say they are all crap because I’ve witnessed some totally decent staff members, but the larger majority, primarily the in-theatre waitstaff, do not have it together. Something is forgotten off of my order almost every time I go. I’ve had to flag a waiter down no less than 4 times in one sitting just to get an item missing from an order. Each time I mention the missing article I’m assured that someone is on it, yet they always return empty handed. The service operation is severely disorganized and inefficient. I would love to see this place succeed as it’s a welcome addition to the Vancouver area, but the staff needs to be better trained.

Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. I used to go to Vinetopia all the time but stopped due to the decline in overall customer service for the dollar. Th evening got off to a rough start when we had a coupon for the original Cinetopia that wasn’t accepted at the new mall location. We were then seated by the hostess… it took 10 minutes for our waitress to take our order. After taking our order, it took another 15 minutes too get our drinks! By the time we got our food and appetizers we only ha 20 minutes to eat before our movie(we arrived 90 minutes early). While eating it was tough to hear each other and the restaurant was less than half full(sound absorbers are very much needed). After finishing our meal we then rushed to put movie. To our shock only 3 seats were left(the movie had been out for nearly a month). We ended up seating across the theater from each other near the front. I will not be returning to Brewtopia again. The customer service and experience was extremely sub par. The only things that kept me from giving one star was the quality of the food and the multiple apologizes from our server.

A review of movie theater food? How unique! Brewtopia is a restaurant/pub within the Cinetopia 23 at Vancouver Mall. You can also have their menu(and drinks) delivered to your seats at some of the theater rooms within; those particular rooms also feature comfy easy chairs, couches, ottomans and an intimate viewing experience. What to order? The lengthy menu features sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and such. Although spendy for movie food,($ 6 – 30), the choices delivered fairly good quality and value. We had the pretzel twists, with came with two dipping sauces, a fondue-like cheese and a mustard; a slice of pepperoni pizza, nice crust, heavy on the pepperoni slices, and a Cubano, their take on a Cuban sandwich featuring pork, ham, swiss, condiments on pressed Italian bread. The sandwiches come with house-made chips(which are good) but optional upgrades are available(fries).
