Been back to Great Taste 4 times. Despite the strip-mall location, they serve consistently high quality food, and offer friendly service. My only complaint is they sometimes forget to bring an appetizer or bring the wrong drink: it may have more to do with limited English than good service. My wife prefers coming here more than any other restaurant in Vancouver. I prefer Ying-Ying, but it’s a bit of a diamond in the rough. At prime time, their(shared) parking lot tends to get full: arrive early or plan on hiking a bit. There were two Chinese couples having dinner here during our last visit: always a good sign!

I love Chinese food. I wanted to dip in here and see what this new location was about and that I did. Quick seating, good service, decorated well — it looked like a mom & pop kind of place. I was directed to the combination specials but not being a fan of seafood which all of them featured I ordered from the main menu. I got vegetable egg rolls, Mongolian beef, hot & sour soup, and a lemonade. They had already brought water and hot tea without being asked. They brought my soup, the appetizer, and the main course all at once. I bit into one of the egg rolls and it tasted like mush. I looked at it a little closer and it might have been ¾ vegetable and ¼ something else. A sauce of some kind? I didn’t finish it. The hot & sour soup tasted pretty good. No complaints there. The Mongolian beef was spicy and had the right flavor, but had to pick around the other vegetables because they weren’t very fresh tasting.
