I just tested Leo’s today, brought there by a friend for a business meeting. It’s not El Charro Café, but it’s a good cantina with very decent prices, tasty food and fast service. I ordered their chicken fajita tacos, and the chicken was nicely cooked, with plenty of onions and peppers in the soft taco shell. My plate was about $ 9 bucks with tip, very reasonable. The chips were nicely crip, not overcooked, not greasy and not too salty. The salsa was good, home-made, rather picante. Overall, a good meal at an affordable price. I’ll go back if I’m in the area.

Amazing!!! I can’t believe I never knew about this restaurant in my 50+yrs in Tucson. The food is so good. Salsa is hot! Leo greets you at door which makes me feel welcome. We will be coming to Leo’s for years to come

Do yourself a favor and try Leo’s enchiladas(not on the lunch or dinner special menu) — they are the best chicken enchiladas in town, hands down. Salsa is spicy and delicious, the chips are hot, the food is predictably greasy. The dishes aren’t the fanciest, the service is casual and the ambiance is… strip-clubby, but I highly recommend it. I stop in every time I’m in Tucson, and you should too.

Leo’s is my neighborhood place for some of the best Mexican food around. Their beans are some of the best I have had — creamy and flavorful, not the thick, bland«store-bought» beans many restaurants serve. On their Specials menu they have a chicken fajita chicken salad that I really love; in fact, I order that every time I go… even though I might be tempted by the juicy carne asada chimi, or their tender beef fajitas. Yep, it’s right next to Ten’s Strip Club, and behind the Exotica Sex shop… get past those two Speedway«landmarks» and you will not regret it! Friendly service, full bar, fresh, thin tortilla chips and a salsa with a great kick — we love it!

Home cooked food. Leo takes you your table and is kind and a good host. The salsa is spicy. The Tostadas are flavorful. The beans are delicious and tasty. Leo aims to please so if I wanted anything he was right on it. We were traveling with a truck and travel trailer and lots of parking. My husband is a Shrimp freak and loved the Fajitas. Everything was fresh.

This place is awesome. Leo’s is a hidden gem, one of Tucson’s best Mexican Food Restaurants. The salsa is amazing and be sure to try the Flan, it’s to die for. Leo’s Special Enchiladas is my favorite dish. My wife and I have been going to Leo’s since my son was a newborn, we feel like a part of the Leo’s family. If you want a great meal, for a great price and support a LOCAL business, hit up Leo’s. You won’t be sorry.

Oh Leo! He is the owner, host, server, busser, and possibly head chef. Tucked away in the back strip mall near the strip club, Leo has been in the food business for almost three decades. You can’t really see it from Speedway. At the intersection of Speedway and Rosemont, head south on Wilmot and Leo’s will be on your right. The reason that I began the review with«oh leo» is because this guy is a character. He saw my friend and I pulling up and went right to the door to open it for us. He was on the phone and it sounded like someone he knew. While on the phone, he just grabbed two menus and started walking. We of course assumed that was for us, but it was kind of strange how he did all of that without any nonverbal signals. Leo is a lively guy who is really funny. He has that«no nonsense» humor and if anything, goes on-and-on about stuff. He’s the kind of guy that you would want around when a good story needs to be shared. He also didn’t know the prices of some of the stuff on his menu. Still, I prefer his kind of service over absent or rude service. The reason why this is only three stars is for a few reasons. First, this place should be more of a place where you order at the counter. There didn’t seem too much of a need for it to be a full service sit-down restaurant. But there is a bar in there, but I don’t see how it is used on a daily/nightly basis. Second, it was pretty dark. Also, register is not done automatically and the only way to get an actual receipt is if you pay with debit or credit. Lastly the food was good, but nothing to write home about. Leo doesn’t use lard, which I like. The experience I had at Leo’s was more about meeting an interesting and cool guy rather than the food. Again, it wasn’t bad and the prices were good. It was basic and a-ok Mexican food. If you are reading this to determine if you want to give it a try, I say you might as well. Leo will be waiting for you!

Beef was dry and the taco shell was so soggy it couldn’t even hold its contents. Waste of money we didn’t even eat all our lunch.

The food here is delicious and very close to home made! The server was excellent and very helpful! This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Tucson and we have many! Every dish we ordered was delicious, hot and yummy, yummy, yummy!

Been eating here for over 20 years. Still come back to it. For just good real mexican food that’s not slopped together and not trying to be fancy, bistro, fusion junk. It’s good stuff, everytime. They make it right and the prices are great.

Down home delicious Mexican food. I love the carne seca tostadas and the fabulous homemade chicken soup. A chicken topopo salad is light and tasty. Ask about specials which are always great.

Love Love Love this place. It’s a little Mom & Pop joint, nothing fancy, just great food at low prices. Took My sis in law here last week. She loves green corn tamales & she said they were the best she’s ever had. Salsa is excellent and I love the rice.

Great hole in the wall dining. Great, carne seca, seasoned well… and wrapped in a delicious tortilla. The service is above average. And the enchilada sauce!?! Heaven.

The location is charmingly awful and the food isn’t memorable. Slightly below the mediocre threshold set by most sit-down Mexican restaurants in Tucson. Beef enchiladas = meh. Veggie burrito = pointless. Chips flowed in copious abundance and the entrees were large, if little else. Might be better if you ordered something more interesting than one of the lunch specials, but Leo’s doesn’t seem like the kind of place that is hiding talent… they just aren’t very good. But they are cheap! Friendly, too. Not that those are sufficient reasons to patronize a restaurant.

I had the chicken fajitas here. They were mediocre at bet. In a city filled with delicious Mexican food places this would not be among my top choices. It may look like an appealing hole in the wall, but you’ll be disappointed. At least the service was friendly and speedy!

You know how sometimes you find a little hole in the wall restaurant that is really great? Well, Leo’s isn’t one of those by a long shot. The menu is generic Mexican and the only two seasonings they seem to have in the kitchen are salt and grease. Food was way too salty and most of our group ate about one third of their lunch before deciding it wasn’t worth it. There are too many other good Mexican restaurants in Tucson to spend any time here.

Leo’s could be a sadistic way for women to test their man’s loyalty. You can regularly find men gazing out the restaurant windows at women entering the Strip club next door. So ladies, you can bring your man and see if he can keep his attention on you. Compared with the the enormous number of excellent Tucson Mexican Restaurants, the food here is definitely not top notch. With that said, it is not bad by any means either. The atmosphere is casual still yet a notch above fast food.
