This place is amazing!!! Way better than Viva, Los Betos, Nico’s and Filabertos. I’ve gone to a lot of Mexican place’s in my time, but boy, mmmm. Very good. I highly recommend it. The burritos are huge and about $ 2 less than Filabertos. We will definitely come again. 4 stars due to the service. They are not the friendliest people.

Some of the best Mexican food in town. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I am partial to their burritos(especially carne asada or adobada). Breakfast I usually do Ponchos Burrito which is sausage, bacon, ham, chorizo, egg and cheese. It will kill any hangover Tucson can throw at you! I also love the roasted salsa at the salsa bar. Their employees are great, never rude and genuinely seem like good people. Support local places like Ponchos– Los Betos/Nicos/Filibertos have enough locations as it is!

Best breakfast burrito inTucson. There is actually bacon in the burrito and it’s not a small burro either. My girlfriend wanted some extra hot salsa and the guy was willing to make us a cup. Highly recommend only downside is the traffic at the intersection is not the best. Love this place!

Came here for a late lunch because of the high Unilocal reviews. This is your typical hole in the wall Mexican food place. Has a large menu with plenty to choose from at a reasonable price. I gave this place a 4 but like a lot of other Unilocalers out there I wish there was a way I could give this place a 3.5. I order the asada burrito and it was really good. The burrito didn’t have a lot of fillers just a lot of flavorful asada(just the way I like it)! It was a good size for the price, but honestly I was expecting the burrito to be a lot bigger just because of the reviews and pictures that were posted on Unilocal.I realize those reviews and pics were for the breakfast burritos, but I just assumed that all the burritos would be that big. I think if it weren’t for those big expectations I would’ve enjoyed my experience a bit more.

I ran in and got the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was very tasty. The service was a bit slow for being one of the only persons in there. However the burrito was fresh and it was good. I would recommend to a friend. The green salsa is ok but it tastes like there is a lot of celery. The red salsa is probably the better of them all and it is not too spicy but definitely a good amount of kick.

Poncho’s has breakfast burrito specials for $ 2.99 Monday through Friday. I saw a previous review that stated $ 1.99. Not the friendliest staff in the world but the burrito was tasty enough and filling. I tried both the red and green salsas from the bar. Red was good not spicy enough for my liking but nice flavor and the roasted green salsa was also good and offered a bit more kick. I didn’t try what looked like tomatillo salsa. Burrito was made to order and came out super fast. It’s right by my house so I’ll definitely be grabbing g something on the go again.

Huge burritos and amazing service. $ 3.99 for a burrito the size of a baby’s arm? Oh heck yeah! Wish I got their salsa but the breakfast burrito I ordered stood very well by itself. This place doesn’t need an introduction. Poncho’s is located in a strip mall. Other than that, the restaurant owners are friendly and inviting. Enough said, go give it a shot!

This is a great little Mexican food restaurant and a Tucson gem. I have ate Mexican food all over Tucson and never found salsa as good as they make.

Ponchos is fairly easy to overlook. It is located at the end of a small shopping center on the southwest corner of Speedway and Craycroft. This is a fast food place you do not want to miss. Service is friendly and quick. They are patient with customers and I can tell they care about the food they make. The beans here are outstanding. The beef burrito is juicy and tasty. They have a typical fast food mexican menu with comparable prices. If you need a quick and delicious meal, this is definitely a place to stop and fuel up.

What a find! I can’t believe I hadn’t been to this place until recently. This is not a fancy place ATALL, so keep your expectations in line. This is a taqueria where you order at the counter and either take out, or eat at fast food style tables. There are so many choices on the menu! I feel like you could eat here forever and never have the same thing twice. And the food is so cheap! And big! But most importantly, it tastes great. I’ve had breakfast burritos, a fish burrito, an omelet, tacos, and enchiladas so far, and everything has been so delicious. Dining partner is enamored of a dish that is a huge pile of chicken, bacon, ham, peppers and onions, and cheese, which comes with a pile of yummy tortillas and is about $ 7 – 8. He gets 2 – 3 meals out of it. This is definitely my favorite new find in a while. They’ve been really friendly every time we’ve gone, and we(gringos) had no problem with any language barriers, as another reviewer here did. Tucked away in a strip mall, it’s nothing to look at, but man you get some good food for not much money.

Came here for lunch today since DH was craving Mexican. I ordered the adobada torta, rice(for me) and cheese quesadilla & a red chile burrito(for DH). The torta was tasty and not covered in cilantro like at some other places. I don’t like cilantro(yeah, get the torches!!!) so that was really nice. My husband liked the quesadilla and said the burrito was yummy but was thrown for a loop by the addition of refried beans to it. The rice was perfect Mexican taco stand rice… dry, fluffy and flavorful. It could have probably used a squeeze of lime, but without it I still have no complaints. Price was good, albeit comparable to Nico’s or Los Betos. It’s not too far from my house, so I’ll probably stop by again every now & then.

I only give 3 stars because of the minimal ability on their end to speak enough english to even understand the word lettuce and their lack of desire to accommodate my request for it even if they charged extra(on daughter’s burrito… they obviously had it as there was an over abundance on my tacos…) the food although basic no frills mexican food… was really really good and you can’t beat the price! Daughter loved her burrito and although I ordered two fish tacos and the one I ate was heavenly… they were so big I was too full for the second! Will definitely go back for the food… a good quick standby when hungry… hopefully service will improve… lol but doubtful. Update: have gone back twice since then and both times they got my order wrong… so as I thought, their limited ability to understand english is affecting their customer service and apparently I need to take a refresher course on my «spanglish».

Wholly cow, the best dang breakfast burrito ever. Had a bunch of clients in to visit our hospital, brought about 6 of their mega #24 and none of us finished it. Was a meat, egg, and cheese paradise. Thanks Unilocal for helping find this place when at the hotel trying to avoid their overpriced room service!

Tucked into a little corner of a tiny strip of businesses, Ponchos is one of those places you drive past, see the sign that says $ 2.50 breakfast burritos M-Th and tell yourself, «I should really try that.» I had been in once before on the weekend and was fairly underwhelmed by what we got. My daughter really loves menudo, so I got her some. I got a sausage, egg and potato breakfast burrito. Everything, including the salsa, was bland. I will note that it was entertaining to watch the tiny lady in the back climb on a stool and ladle menudo out of the huge pot on the stove. I decided to visit them on a weekday for one of their $ 2.50 burritos. This time I choose chorizo, potato and egg. I will say that my burrito was so speedily prepared I barely had a chance to fill two salsa containers before they tell me it’s ready. I swear that the weekday breakfast burrito was smaller than the one I paid full price on the weekend for. Maybe that’s just the glutton in me speaking. It was, again, bland and the potatoes were soggy. The salsa was better than I remember and that saved it somewhat. The little specks of black that laced the salsa tell me that something was fire-roasted, so it’s likely pretty fresh. Poncho’s lands on the third star for cheap, fast, close-to-home breakfast burritos on a weekday. The rest of the menu is yet to be explored.

I go there for the amazing burritos, especially their breakfast ones. Monday through Friday, all breakfast burritos are only $ 1.99! Best part is they’re located on my route to work!
