What a great little knitting store! Yes, it’s quite a drive up some rather steep inclines(especially in the snow!) — remember to bring your all wheel drive vehicle. BUT: the view is zomg worth it AND the owner(Lauren) couldn’t be nicer. Like a typical knitter(at least, I assume this is what typical knitters do), I immediately started touching EVERYTHING in sight. For reals, y’all, she’s got some incredible yarns available — I, for one, can’t say no to baby alpaca. And the colors — THECOLORS! Simply gorgeous. Lauren was super helpful, too. I found some fantastic bulky yarn but had no project for it; like a great saleswoman she helped me conjure up some fun potential projects. I walked out with my ball and a million ideas. Thank you!

What a beautiful shop and a great owner Lauren. While visiting in town from Central Oregon I was really looking forward to coming to the Knitting Nest. We got into town late Thursday so I planned on coming up the next day on Friday but as I looked at her hours I read she was only open by appointment on Fridays. I left her a message on the voicemail but wasn’t getting my heart set on her calling me back in time. Friday morning she called me and said she would meet me at her store in an hour. I was so grateful!!! The journey to her store is very unusual but the location had some amazing views. I purchased my early Christmas present(thanks Hubby) the Addii Click needle set as well as some beautiful yarns. She also gave me some free patterns. I look forward to coming back to the store in the future and I would recommend it to anyone! Thanks Lauren!

If you want to drive straight up a mountain to buy a skein of yarn, this is your place! The description of this shop sounds great, but we drove up 2⁄3 of the way up in an RV and did we regret it!!! When we reached a summit, we still had not arrived!!! We decided to go back down to Harrah’s & we had to go down a 8% grade for several miles! The other side down was a 9% grade!!! My advice, go to Carson City, joann’s & you will be much better off! Geez! Not worth it!

This is a wonderful shop. Give yourself plenty of time and bring lots of money! You won’t be disappointed. Lauren the owner is very helpful. My only negative comment is that the hours are inconsistent. Make sure to call and talk to her before you make the drive up to the Eagles Nest. Updating above review … I LOVE this shop… and Lauren too! Well worth the drive up the mountain and really not that hard to find. Just drive until the«Eagles Nest» sign on your right just before you get to the skiers coming down the run at Stagecoach. Incredible selection of yummy soft beautiful yarns. Not your run of the mill selection. Now that I’m a more experienced knitter… Thanks in a huge way to Lauren with her amazing patience I can tackle nearly any project without being intimidated. Check out her website as she updates her business hours daily on the site. She also teaches/facilitates a Learn to Knit/Knitting Club on Tuesday evenings at LTCC Connect. It’s a great way to meet other knitters and make new friends. Don’t be shy come join us …

Nice little shop for all your knitting and crocheting needs. Great selection of unique yarn(wool, cotton, alpaca), needles, hooks, books, accessories. The owner of the shop(her name escapes me at the moment…) is really helpful. Much rather support this local business than the mega craft stores. Definitely stop in here if you find yourself hankering for some knitting or crocheting necessities.

Cozy and unique shop that was a bit of an adventure to find. It was a beautiful and quick drive up the grade from South Tahoe. This store in located front and center on the bottom floor of The Eagle’s Nest, so you might get to the top and think you’ve missed it but you haven’t! I was looking for some chunky yarn and the selection was great. Lots of yarn brands I had never heard of. I found a particularly fun and unique skein and would have bought more but it was all expensive. When ringing up I was offered a free pattern that they had printed off of the yarn’s website, which was a nice perk. It’s a tradition of mine to buy yarn at the LYS when I travel and this place was a fun visit.

What a great knitting boutique. The store is very welcoming and cute. There is a huge selection of yarn and supplies. I could spend the day in there. I am new to knitting and the owner Lauren was very knowledgeable and helpful about knitting. I would recommend going if you live in Tahoe or are just visiting.
