Seabreeze Beach Resort Condominiums

Made the reservation on a Tuesday and we arrived the next day. Never did anyone mention the red tide and people having to use face masks when outdoors. My husband and I took my mother for what was supposed to be a nice relaxing few days at the beach. After checking in, noticed people walking outside with face masks… we were coughing from just going from the car to the condo unit but had no idea of the red tide. An owner told us that it had been there for some time. Why weren’t we advised prior to making the reservation? Asked that of the mgmt and they tried to tell me that the red tide had started after making our reservation… uh…NO! Also, an owner/​board member who was quite nice but definitely in denial that people should be told about the breathing hazard told me that it was just like rainy weather. Really!!! Well, rain is NOT a breathing hazard. My husband is missing half a lung due to a congenital defect and my mother has COPD. The last place we needed to be was here! As for the condo, it was decorated very beachy and definitely on the worn side… rugs, towels, bedding were quite worn. Long black hair found all over the place… ugh! Never again.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. VERY old building. The décor was hideous. The furniture was old. The paint was chipped off the doors and woodwork. The couch was faded and had a rip in it. The light switches and outlets don’t all work. The ceiling fans and lights in the bedrooms only worked marginally. The TVs were small tube TVs. The rugs and towels and bed linens were worn thin. The sheets had a rip in them. It smelled terribly musty, and the cupboards felt wet and sticky. The washing machine sucked. On the up side, the pool was nice, and the beach was nice. We were told that the owner didn’t want to update it. Then don’t rent it out. They did give us some of our money back when I complained.

I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Seabreeze. This is our second stay here (although many years apart). It was very clean and cozy. The owners did a great job decorating… just beachy enough, but not to the point that it was cheesy. The kitchen was updated and met all of our needs. There are tv’s in the living room and both bedrooms. We had no complaints as far as beds go, and all slept very soundly throughout our stay. My husband and I stayed here with my parents, and we all felt that this is where we’ll be staying from now on. Our booking and check in/​out process was a breeze (no pun intended). We loved it so much that we agreed that I shouldn’t share what unit we stayed in for fear that it will be tougher to book in the future ;)

The «third bedroom» is the old laundry room with a bunk bed shoved in there. The lights don’t work in that room. Some of the kitchen lights don’t work. Several kitchen/​dining area lightbulbs are missing or burned out. The garbage disposal doesn’t work. Neither of the ceiling fans work. The overhead light in the master bedroom doesn’t work. Many of the outlets don’t work. We were told that the condo needs to be «rewired.» We were also promised that someone would come by to fix these problems today, but no one stopped by. We will not be staying here again — and I have stayed at this complex several times over the years.
