Pretty disappointed with this place, looks like it would be good but isn’t. Had the blackened flounder and it was under seasoned and overcooked. The brussell sprouts were mushy and over salted. Asparagus were good but were given 2, just 2 as the side. This place is pricey and not worth the money. My brother had a steak which was okay, not the best steak I have had but for 30 $ it should have been better. Next time I’m in SPI I’ll pass on this place.

Extraordinarily pricey. But the steak is probably the best steak I have ever eaten. Absolutely amazing.

Service is fast and very professional. Food delivered fast and tasted good. Best cooked(medium) and seasoned steak we have bought at a steakhouse. Side of asparagus was disappointing — had fiber stem still on it and serving was only two stems(serving definition of a vegetable is ½ cup). Also side of broccoli was two rosettes. Prime rib sandwich was the bomb! Ah jus dip makes the sandwich sparkle. Unfortunately, both steak and sandwich were served barely luke warm and all veggies were cold. The food flavor is why we gave the rating as high as we posted.

Do not waste your time here! I called ahead for a group of 8 lovely ladies all dressed up nicely and ready to celebrate an upcoming wedding. They told me over the phone that it would be about a 30 minute wait so I told them we were on our way and would wait at the bar. When we got there, we received the worst customer service! We were not greeted. I had to initiate the conversation with the hostess. She rudely told me they didn’t have room for us and wouldn’t for the rest of the night. I explained what was told to me over the phone and a manager eventually said they would fit us in within 30 minutes. We sat at the bar patiently. 40 minutes went by and 4 large tables remained empty the entire time. We went back to the hostess and asked if we could take one of the open tables. She said we could in 5 minutes if the reservation that claimed that table didn’t not show up. 2 minutes later, the bus boys started breaking down that same table that was promised to us. At this point, we just walked out and told the manager how terrible the experience was as we left. All he said was, «I’m sorry have a good evening.» This business will not stay open with customer service like this. Do not waste your time here! There are plenty of other restaurants that are great and will treat customers with respect.

We had dinner here on a Friday night and everything was amazing, lovely ambiance, impeccable service and food. We didn’t make reservations, and were lucky enough not to need them, but this place is worth it to plan and call ahead, as they do get busy. Leo was our waiter, he was wonderful, friendly, courteous, attentive, and quick to recommend dishes and pairings when we asked his advice. On his recommendation, I had the stuffed flounder and I don’t even have proper words to describe how delicious it was. I love seafood and enjoy strong flavored fish, but the flounder is great even if you prefer a mild fish. It’s a whole flounder stuffed with other seafood and covered in a rich, creamy sauce that made me want to lick the plate. It was absolutely delicious. I wish I hadn’t eaten any appetizers so I could’ve eaten the whole plate. Boyfriend had the NY strip and fried shrimp and… of course I had a bite of that– also delicious, but I feel like the flounder was the clear winner and I urge everyone to have it

We decided to try Liam’s. We are a party of 6 we dropped by the restaurant about 5:45−6pm. The hostess looked at us up and down and we felt judged by our casual attire. We asked for seating for 6. The hostess said without a reservation that might not be possible. Mind you there was maybe 2 other couples seated in the dinning room. The hostess said she would see if she could accommodate us bit it may take awhile. 5 minutes later she said the only room she had for our family was at the bar. THERESTAURANTWASEMPTY… She did not offer to separate us… Or to accommodate us at a later time. She was rude and judgmental. We walked out. I wish I has read the reviews prior to walking in here… GOODLUCKLIAM’S. Customer service and good food go hand in hand.

Don’t waste your time. My husband and I went there for our Anniversary, read some really good reviews so we both agreed on trying this restaurant. My husband wanted the Oysters and I agreed on the Blackend Shrimp Fettuccine. When I ordered my meal the waiter asked if I wanted the salad so I assumed it came with the meal, so I said yes and my husband had the Grilled Oyster Combo with Tonys Oysters and Oysters Rockefeller and Mikes Blackened Oysters the waiter did let my husband know it was a appetizer, so the waiter suggested a salad. We got our drinks and about 7 minutes later we did get a very small salad. When the meal arrived I noticed loads of mushrooms and about 6 shrimp. The Fettuccine was so heavy and the sauce had a weird taste and I had to pick the mushrooms out at no time did it say there were mushroom in the Fettuccine, the shrimp was OK and at no time did I ever get a refill on my tea, luckily there was also water on the table. My husband enjoyed Tonys Oysters and really liked Mikes blackened Oysters in which was a total of two of each kind of Oyster. The Oyster Rockefeller had the same cheese and my Shrimp Fettuccine, which was just a nasty tasting cheese. The only reason I gave 1 star was because my husband did enjoy 4 out of his 6 Oysters. When we got our check we found out the salad was $ 5.00 for each and for very little lettuce and cucumbers. There is no way I would go there again. We had a awful meal for our 12th Anniversary. I guess you just never know what the restaurant is like until you try it.

I justifiably give this place a 2 star review after two experiences there. First time with my wife. Sat down immediately during off season. Waiter was in attentive, my wife and I almost left before the experience began. Finally got our drinks ordered and ordered the spinach artichoke appetizer. Came out after a wait, it was cold. Not cold like it had cooled off, but still partially frozen. Told the waitress, she acted like I was inconveniencing her when I sent it back to be reheated. It came back, almost warm enough to be edible, but not really. We didn’t really eat it. Our dinner came, I had steak, which cost as much as a 4 – 5 star restaurant in Dallas, but not very good and cooked improperly. They have a nice looking ribeye in the display; don’t count on yours looking like it. Wife got a fish dish, it was ok. Covered in their three cheese sauce, as are many of their dishes, which is really a disguise. Paid and left in a hurry, no plans to ever go back. Take two. Family is down in padre also, they want to go to Liam’s. Claimed they had been once and it was good. Ok, maybe I just had a bad experience. Sit down, order some appetizers and drinks and order dinner. Drinks come and the oyster appetizers come which are actually pretty good. Another hour and fifteen minutes later good isn’t at the table. We are all pretty hungry tired and annoyed by now. Hostess comes over and asked what’s wrong. We explain how long we’ve been here, claims the ores should be right out. They bring out 3 of 4 dishes, which are luke warm, just the way you want your fish and steak, like it’s been on the counter waiting for you for a good 10 – 15. We ask about the fish dish again, and they admit an hour and a half later they messed up the order, which was whole flounder. Finally it comes out, it’s half the fish. I could continue to tell you how the hostess returned and apologized and offered some red velvet cupcake bites, and claimed that she wasn’t sure what whole fish meant because she didn’t eat seafood(but works in a seafood restaurant). I should have asked if she knew what whole load of bread was, but I didn’t want to get the«I don’t understand what whole loaf of bread is» response. Overall, they didn’t make amends for the poor service or disappointing meal, nor comp any of it. Sometimes, when there’s a problem, it’s more important how the problem is handled more so than the problem itself. Management never took responsibility or made any real effort to keep us as customers, which is great because if rather spend my money elsewhere. Two for two bad experiences equal two stars. Two stars because I didn’t get sick.

Last night my family and I went to Liam’s on a whim. The ambiance was pretty nice but a little inconsistent. The décor was a modern nice beachy feel, but there were a lot of elements that felt a bit pretentious. The wait staff was very sweet and extremely attentive. They even rushed my 2 year old nieces order which I thought was a really nice touch. But all the servers were in complete formalwear? They also have«house-beers» which range from $ 35 – 50 a pop, which is kind of odd for the menu. It’s some of the better food I’ve had on the island flavor-wise, but all of the fish I sampled around the table was over-cooked, as well as most of the vegetables. I understand the place is pretty new, so I’m hoping their chef will get a better handle on their timing once they’ve gotten into their groove. My Bloody Mary was great, and the table enjoyed their cocktails but the second round was inconsistent. I think this place overall a good experience and worth the trip, they just need a little tweaking.

Liam’s has only been open two weeks. Food was wonderful and fresh, steaks and seafood. Wait staff was perfect! Bar drinks were perfect. White tablecloths and best of all, you can make reservations. On South Padre island, the other wonderful restaurant doesn’t allow reservations. So this a big plus after a long day at the beach.
