This place is a dive. First, there are hot tubs in the bedrooms, which point to a Spring Break property. Nothing wrong with that but it’s advertised as a resort and it is most definitely NOT a resort. It’s shabby, falling apart, and has terrible-tasting breakfast and coffee. The above-mentioned hot tub in my room features a dead roach, lying on its back with its legs up in the air.(There was another dead roach in one of the cabinets.) That is not only disgusting but it also points to subpar housecleaning. Which brings me to my next complaint. I and the other Director of our honors degree program brought our honors students to Padre Island for a conference and stayed at this hotel. One of the rooms our students stayed in had a bedbug problem. A bad one considering the bite marks left on the students’ arms and faces. When we complained to the acting manager on our departure day, he was rude, annoying, and dismissive.(He was also racist and ignorant based on a couple of comments he made to us.) Do NOT stay here. One star only because I can’t give it zero stars.

Decent hotel. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave, and extra sink. There was continental breakfast with scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, cereal, juice, and waffle maker. They allow dogs for a very small fee. The hotel is older, but clean. It is just a short walk to the beach. The restaurant«Daddy’s» across the street has Cajun/creole food.

Allowed my Weimaraner. Were very forgiving when needed late check out due to fishing trip. Fair rooms for price. I will definitely come back. Thanks to staff for working with a few fishing slackers!!! Thanks!

While it is clear that this is an older hotel, the property is in fair condition and the location is very conveniently positioned on South Padre Island. The lobby and breakfast area is well appointed and clearly the most recently renovated part of the property. The front desk staff(there were 3 on duty) were efficient, friendly, and gave me excellent recommendations for things to do/see on the island. When I asked about getting a room with a view, the clerk checked the system, located a room that faced the bay, and gave me that room. I was delighted! The room was spacious. I got a king suite with a kitchenette, balcony, and a Jaccuzi tub. The A/C was already on when I walked into the room, which was a welcome sensation in the South Texas heat. The room was clean, smelled fresh, and met my expectations. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is a good value for the price, and I had a positive stay here.

The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are kept up very well, considering it’s so close to the beach, it didn’t feel like it or smell like it. They seem to have decent prices, usually ranging just below the going rate at the time. It’s not on the beach, so you have to drive, which can be a bummer, but it’s not far off, so don’t fret. They also have Jacuzzi rooms available, but they are a tad small compared to some other hotels I have stayed in.
