Where to begin? I recently stayed the weekend here for a short weekend vacation. Upon arriving, front desk staff is very friendly and approachable. The room was very spacious, clean and fully stocked just like advertised on . Environment was great it’s only a short walking distance from the beach. The pool was clean as expected. Conveniently located as soon as you get off the bridge and in between a McDonalds, a Denny’s and a bunch of stores, all in walking distance! The manager or building owner is very attentive and talks with most of his guests that stay at the hotel! Thumbs up on being there! Enough about the good. Just a few things that should be improved for a much smoother guest experience. Bell hop would be awesome! We had to carry all our stuff to the elevator and through the fourth floor. Opening up the multi-level garage parking. Better signage for the front of the building. Finishing some construction on the fourth floor. I noticed that there was a lot of space, not used, that looked like bars or small restaurants. Giving guests the options of gift stores, a small café or even a unique bar specific for hotel guests would bring in a bunch more business. It should be like an all-in-one building! Where your other option is to go walk to the beach. Ooh! Umbrella rentals would be great to! There’s more but I’d have to stay there again to remember what to write about! It’s up and coming, rates are reasonable for its location and I wouldn’t mind staying again!

This hotel would get a five star review if only based on staff. My friend and i came for an extended girls weekend and found the staff to be most helpful and accommodating. The room was spacious and very comfortable. This is an up and coming hotel and i cannot wait to come back again with my family.

This was a good hotel. I read the other reviews, and sounds like they have some strange charges during peak season time. We did not experience such issues. Off season, on a saturday night, we paid about $ 140 after taxes for a room. The hotel is located on top of a strip mall on Padre blvd. It is hard to locate the front desk if you haven’t been here before. It is also a little confusing because there is a similar named«sunchase condos» right behind the hotel. Parking is covered and you need a permit. There is not beach access but it’s a quick walk. The views from our room were of the bay. They have a pool from 10am-10pm. Easy walk to many things on the strip. I get the feeling this place is more bustling during the summer season. There is a bar and place to eat inside the hotel, that was closed during off season. There is easy shopping and places to eat all along this blvd. The hallways are a little confusing, they should take down the mirrors. The BESTTHING about this hotel is the rooms. They are large, well maintained and clean. They have fold out couches, king size beds, nice bathrooms, modern amenities, kitchenettes, flat screen tvs and free wifi. The customer service was very good. For this price range during off season, they are a 3, on the brink of a 4. If I had a groupon or paid less than $ 100 for off season night, I’d rate them higher.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. My husband and I found a great deal on Groupon and didn’t really have high expectations for our lodging. The Hotel was a little different looking from the outside and the hallway was like a maze, but the room was really nice. The beds were super comfortable and everything was clean. We checked Aug. 17th and was greeted by Alicia at the front desk, she was very friendly and got us check in a little bit early. Each guest is required to wear a wristband just to ensure there were no unauthorized guest, I thought I was nice to know they were checking. The hotel was in a great location! When we come back to South Padre we will be staying here again.

I checked in at this hotel on August 16th at 3:15pm(checked in for two rooms) — we were issued parking passes and our room keys. I was in one room and my parents in another. Alicia at the front desk made absolutely NO mention of needing wristbands nor were we given any. We got situated in our rooms and got ready for the pool. Being that I was visiting family and it was my last day in the Rio Grande Valley, my sister, brother and his kids were going to travel 1 hr to spend some time with me and my parents as a family. Once they arrived, we all went to the pool and had some great fun. Again, Alicia and Bryan at the front desk occasionally came out to the pool area and never questioned us about any wristbands. We were all in and out of the hotel ALLDAY/EVENING until they left at around 9:30. My nephew, who had to work until 8pm, also drove over an hour to get to spend some time with me and my daughter before we left earlier today. He arrived at appoximately 10:30pm(along with his friend) and as they attempted to go up to my room, they were stopped and were not allowed upstairs. I came downstairs, met them outside and we were going to go back up to the room and we were stopped by the night receptionist. I did not catch her name. She told me about the wristband requirement and I advised her that I had been there all day long and had not once been asked about a wristband. I told her that they were just going to stay for about an hour or so because we hadn’t seen each other for about 5 months but she said NO, they need wristbands at $ 20/ea. I told her that I didn’t even have a wristband and she said OH, well… let me give YOU one. This is where the policy bothers me. She claimed that the wristband Policy is a safety feature so that should anyone who wanted to harm guests gets onto the property, they would know who shouldn’t be there if they weren’t wearing a wristband. She issued me a wristband a) without checking my ID and(b) without asking for my room key. I went ahead and paid for my nephew and his friend to visit with me for 1HOUR and 15MINUTES — and there was NOID check for them either. How does that even REMOTELY ensure safety of guests if you STILL don’t know who you’re issuing wristbands to? This is the first time I have EVER been charged for having guests visit my room while staying in a hotel and I have stayed at much finer establishments. I think this safety policy is just a ploy to get more money out of the guests. I am seriously irked by this and it probably wouldn’t have bothered me so much if I had been told about the wristband policy ATCHECK-IN. I cannot even being to convey how extremely irritating this situation was. Coincidentally, some friends of mine were also staying at the hotel that weekend and they told me that they were told it would be $ 35 per additional guest — regardless if they were staying or just visiting. I think DEFINITELY this hotel was just trying to get our money any which way they could! HORRIBLE! OH Yes, my room would never cool down and it smelled like mildew but my parents room was good. The hallways were ATLEAST85 degrees the whole time too.
