Holiday Inn Express & Suites South Padre Island

Very clean, comfortable. Nice welcoming staff. Location superb right across the street from the sea turtle rehab center and an amazing birding and nature center.

Room was nice and staff were helpful. Short walk to the beach and Claytons Bar. Breakfast bar was good. However, one elevator was out of service when I arrived, and the second elevator then broke the next day. It was posted that it would be a couple days before it could be looked at, let alone repaired. Running up to the 4^th floor can be a pain after a day of beaching and football watching. I’d give 4 stars otherwise.

We stayed here during our time in South Padre. The staff was really nice and offers complimentary toiletries (toothbrush, comb, toothpaste, feminine products, ect.) Our room was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. The pool was great, as well as the hot tub. The pool had a good temperature without being freezing cold. Our only complaint was the WiFi. We would spend a while trying to get on, only to be thrown off 15 minutes later. We spent a long time searching for the right server to get on. But, it’s complimentary, so we can’t complain too much. Overall, a good hotel to stay in. It’s only a 5 – 10 minute walk to the beach.

Staff was excellent and breakfast room is very accommodating. The location is a short walk to the beach with footprints to mark your way. The pool is good size compared to other Holiday Inn Express hotels.

Not a bad place to stay on the island at all. Very accommodating management staff who helped me out when I messed up my reservation. Clean rooms. I wish it was on the ocean. We did have an ocean view over the houses between the hotel and the beach.

Nice clean hotel with the great service. They need to invest in better sheets though. I would have given 5 stars. Great continental breakfast. Highly recommend!

Staff was great and truly helpful. Room was always clean and new towels for the beach and to shower were easy to get. Was a great experience at a bargain price for the beach.

Had a wonderful stay. The hotel offers very modern amenities. The staff was top notch. For what you pay for you get a 5 star experience. Will book here again for sure!

Consistency in good service is what makes this hotel the best.
From check-​in to check-​out, the service was nothing short of outstanding. We wanted to stay an extra night, and Jacob, the desk clerk on duty, went above and beyond to help us when we wanted to see if we could pay with gift cards that we wanted to use up. When that didn’t work, we had to use a MasterCard, but the fact that he tried so hard to accommodate us earned him five stars in my book. And on top of that, he kept the room rate the same instead of charging for a whole new night, which would have been more expensive. Now that’s caring for your guests.
Housekeeping was very respectful of our Do Not Disturb sign in the mornings. Even after the 1 p.m. deadline to have the room cleaned, they still honored our request and did a fantastic job stocking up on the materials we needed.
Consistency is key. We’ve now had three years in a row with excellent experiences at this hotel. There is no other hotel worth staying in if you’re on South Padre.

Had a great lunch of chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes with chipped beef gravy and whole kernel corn for $ 4.99. They have about 5 selections at this price and the lunch special goes until 8:00 P.M. Can’t beat it and the atmosphere was great with friendly service.

After staying in another hotel across town that did not live up to expectations, this hotel was a breath of fresh air. Very clean rooms, soft and clean bed linens, spacious rooms, larger mini-​fridge/​micro/​coffee maker in the room. It is also approximately 3 blocks from the beach. Public areas are kept clean and the staff at the front desk got me checked-​in quickly and were courteous. I couldn’t ask for more in a hotel within this price range. Definitely would return and recommend to others.

It is not right on the beach but it is close. Breakfast was free but not memorable; La Quinta had a better one.
The pool was small, crowded and quickly got dirty, but they cleaned it every day.
Our room was clean and comfortable. It is a fine place to stay in South Padre and we’d stay again in a heartbeat.

I was quite impressed with Holiday Inn. Normally, I am just on the neutral side, but our experience in SPI was better than I expected.
First of all, we got there early on Friday and they let us check in at 12noon! Who does that? It was incredible. We had a spectacular view of the bay area and actually ate by the window a few times, like we were sitting on the beach itself.
The breakfast a la you was pretty good. It had all the makings for those who don’t know what they want. The lounge areas were great. We sat out in them with our computers instead of feeling cooped up in the room. The showers were hot, the beds were comfortable, and the rate was very low.
One star lost for the hot tub being colder than the ocean. Bummer.
