disclaimer: i’m not a coffee expert Came here after reading all the good reviews on Unilocal.(also since the original star bucks close by had a line similar to an amusement park) First thing I noticed was a bunch of flies once you enter the place… not exactly a refreshing feeling but maybe all shops may have this issue? Drink wise i tried the iced coffee since it was a hot day. Its pretty much black coffee with ice and it tasted fine. Good taste but to be honest i couldn’t tell the difference between the black coffee here and the black coffee at mc donalds. Overall, at least for iced coffee, i didn’t taste any difference.

Great Ethiopian coffee. I buy it every time I get a chance to make coffee at home. I also love walking in and smelling the coffee.

This place is very relaxing and pretty, with great music on the sound system. The breakfasts, and coffee are big, affordable, and delicious. It’s a great spot to chill out and unwind in the morning. I highly recommend it for food and atmosphere.

Totally hipster but decent enough. Nothing special though — it’s formulaicly stereotypical.

This is a magnificent coffee house amongst magnificent coffee houses. Competition truly brings out the best in us. A block away from the original Starbucks and dozen other coffee houses, this one holds it own. The staff is very helpful. But they are very slow to bus tables. Must be the $ 15 min wage laws at work.

«Slow bar» is an amazing experience to sit, see and sip your coffee brewed by Hario V60, French press, Vacuum pot, Chemex, or aeropress style. Different from Starbucks grab-and-go, try the slow bar sit-see-and-sip! Enjoy fragrant coffee from Kenya, Ethiopia, Panama or wherever your heart desires.

Review 67⁄366 Seattle Coffee Works is within steps from Pike Place Market. Ever since trying the coffee here, I’ve been dreaming about Seattle coffee. Seattle Coffee Works is a decent size coffee shop w/pretty hipster baristas :) My go-to drink is the hazelnut latte– it’s got a great nutty flavor, without being overly sweet. The coffee isn’t too strong, but you definitely get that caffeine kick. There’s really not much to say except… this is honestly some of the best coffee in Seattle. It’s a must try. Next time I’m back in the area, this’ll definitely be one of my first stops.(btw, I think i swung by here 3 times in one day… lol)

This place has such good stuff. I always stop by here on my way to the office and the staff is so kind and sweet to me. I have been meaning to write a review review for a while now, finally got the chance. Thank you for the kind treatment.

I had an opportunity to visit Seattle for the first time, I was excited to try all the coffee shops that I had imagined. Maybe it was the fact that I visited on a holiday, or that I tended to be in more touristy areas, but I felt like I could only find crowded chains. Then, I finally came across Seattle Coffee works. The place is huge– there was plenty of seating to lounge around in. The barista’s were very friendly and it was the by far the best coffee I had in Seattle. It also has a great location, so if you’re visiting Seattle, definitely check this place out.

Plenty of seating here! I got a cup of regular coffee, which was delicious. Service was good. Hard to differentiate this coffee shop from some of the others in terms of the quality of coffee. It’s a very quiet ambience so I can imagine this being a good place to get work done with guaranteed seating. It’s a great location for tourists because it’s right near the busiest portion of Pike Place Market.

Yes. Seattle is synonymous with Starbucks and vice versa. But the Seattle coffee scene is so much more, and Seattle Coffee Works is a perfect example of that. It’s perfectly situated across from the public market, but as soon as you open the door, you leave all the touristy noise behind and step into a legit coffee shop. The digs are chill and comforting, the butter yellow walls somewhat relaxing. They have lots of drink and food selections. I got a soy mocha and my friend got a raspberry italian soda and both drinks were very good. My mocha was made perfectly and the espresso tasted nice and smooth. No knock on Starbucks of course as I visit their locations often. But there’s something about local coffee shops that churn out delicious coffee(and other drinks). This place is worth a visit.

Seattle Coffee Works is by far the best coffee shop downtown Seattle. Located steps away from Pike Place Market. If you are a coffee aficionado, you will appreciate this gem. They offer a variety of coffee options, from«slow» siphon brew, to the best espresso ever. They are coffee roasters, and they really do a great job. Ok, let’s get now to the nitty gritty, Their espresso machine is a state of the art Synesso MVP Hydra, the best espresso machine in the world, made right here in Seattle. Their baristas are the best, not only they can pull(extract) a great shot of espresso, and they are super friendly. They consistently pull a perfect espresso also known as «the god shot», exquisite crema & excellent aroma. optimum blend of acidity, and sweetness. If you are in the vicinity of pike place market, forget about Starbucks, you want to take your picture in front of Seattle Coffee Works

This is the first coffee shop I’ve found in Washington that has a SWEET chai latte! They’ve already won me over just by having that on their menu(the really spicy chais are just not my thing). This is only a few shops away from Public Market, and had a nice, chill vibe inside. Most of the tables were taken when we arrived, but it was still fairly quiet inside. Half the people had headphones in working on laptops and the other half were like us and came to chat with friends. There was only one barista working, and he took everyone’s orders and made the drinks quickly and efficiently. We had a really great time, and we especially all loved the sweet chai. Will definitely be coming here again when we want to grab a latte in downtown(that’s not Starbucks!) and hang out :)

I love the ambiance here! I love the fact that even though Seattle is known for the huge franchise of Starbucks(with a Starbucks in almost every corner), there’s still a lot of local coffee places all around the city. I went here on a Friday afternoon with two friends and we all got the sweet chai latte in different sizes. The latte was smooth and silky. I’m not a connoisseur by any means, so I don’t know if this chai is the best of the best — it was good to me. The drinks are on the pricier side. The location of this coffee shop is great, but the shop itself is a bit small. We were lucky that day and were able to snatch a table. The baristas were nice and brought my coffee to me. I’m intrigued by their slow bar and would love to try out the different brewed coffee, but Seattle is a whole day venture for me so I probably won’t have the time to wait for the coffee as I love to explore the city as much as I can.

Pleasantly surprised by this small unassuming store. Walked by many times without stopping in. Coffee: blends or single origin. They have various brewing methods from the French press(Aeropress), vacuum pot, pour over(Hario V60), chemex. Ample seating and bathrooms without having to ask for a code. Small selection of baked goods and sandwiches. Single origin brew of Kenyan coffee: vacuum pot yielded a very light, almost tea like coffee. Didn’t feel it brought out the robust complex flavors so opted for a chemex instead. Their chemex and vacuum pot is available for sale but I would check out their website for more info for your preferred brewing method first. I’m told they deal directly with the coffee growers so I would imagine cutting out the middle man enables them to keep their prices lower. All their beans are roasted on site. While this is a much smaller operation than the Starbucks giant, their coffee and service will give you a very compelling reason to return! Sign up for their Prepaid subscription. Currently their 3 month subscription for $ 110 works out to approximately $ 1.53/oz, quite a saving compared to SB reserve roast subscription at $ 2.16/oz.

Right across from Pike Public Market and Seattle Coffee Works was our first stop of the day. The vibe is divey and laidback. My cappuccino was A-OK and nothing really stand out to be amazing. Staff was efficient but cold, maybe it was such a dreadful morning in Seattle.

I did my best to breathe and silently state in my head: «you’re not in New York, you’re not in New York, you can’t expect quick and efficient service, the culture is different here, breathe Fazeela… breathe Fazeela…» If you like light roast coffees that taste more like tea than coffee… you may enjoy this spot. I am just not one of those people. My sis and I tried both the Colombian and Ethiopian V60 filter coffees and we were not impressed. at. all. Very little depth or complexity. I realize I appreciate fuller body coffees with very little acidity — but I didn’t realize how *light* and almost *fruity* these cups of java would be. Now on to the food… my sis ordered the bacon, egg, cheese without the bacon and at least 5 people received their sandwich before her. She had paid for hers, but the gal behind the counter somehow forgot to put her order in? We also ordered a cherry almond scone that the gal *forgot* about. We didn’t want to be pushy and stereotypical, so we waited… then kindly asked for the sandwich, we still had to wait and wait and wait… and the sandwich came out. THEN, I had to go up to the counter and remind the gal about the scone… meh it ended up tasting day old… I should have just ordered one of those crappy baked goods at Starbucks across the street. Same kind o’ schtick. This spot was completely forgettable.

Cute coffee shop on an adjacent block from pikes place. It’s spacious with many seating for those that want to cozy up and read or for weary travelers to recharge. Got myself a mocha. It is your typical mocha with a cute design. The chocolate was semi bitter which is what I really like. The espresso was strong, another characteristic I like. The employees were helpful. Nice ambience in the middle of busy downtown Seattle.
