Another good gelato shop in Seattle. This store is located next to Pike’s Place Market and is easy to miss. However, be sure and find this shop as it thankfully was not packed with people as most of the market is! The employee was friendly and allowed me to try several flavors while describing them to me without me asking him to do so. I ordered the panna cotta which was delicious. It is always a good sign when a simple flavor tastes great, rather than judging a shop by their more complex creations. The only minor deficiency of this store versus others in the area is that they carry a limited selection of flavors. However all the classic favorites are there and they are of great quality.

I literally dream of Bottega Italiana! Make sure you take advantage of being able to get multiple flavors in a cup, because they have an amazing and very, very delicious selection. This is absolutely my guilty pleasure at Pike Place! Nothing beats a trip to SAM followed by a tasty gelato snack to round out a delightful spring Sunday in Seattle. Take my word for it and leave room for dessert next time you’re out and about downtown!

The gelato here is amazing! I got the mixed berries gelato & I was in heaven! I didn’t care how cold it was & had to come inside for a nice treat! You definitely won’t be disappointed.

I once spent a month in Italy eating gelato everyday. This is THE very BEST gelato in Seattle hands down! The homemade goodness & authentic texture is on point every time & the flavors are absolutely dreamy!

Rich and Creamy… I love Gelato! Bottega Italiana Gelato might not be the best one I ever enjoyed but the service is one of the best I encountered. Cheerful staff behind the counter so excited to let you sample all their offerings. For something refreshing but not too healthy, I recommend Strawberry Basil and Pear is so good too as it is like eating the«real» fruit! There are limited seating but the turnover is really fast.

Although I do like Gelatiamo, I must say this one is better! The pear gelato hit me with a good BANG! In flavor! It also tasted similar to a real pear! This is good stuff! Not only that, they give out a generous scoop for the price you pay. Believe me, it’s a STEAL especially when gelato is expensive to begin with. Will definitely come back again! You guys are now my favorite!

Cute little gelato store. I came in with specific orders from my sister that I needed to try their pistachio gelato. Tried and it was so creamy and nutty all at the same time. So good! Every pistachio gelato I try in the future will be compared to the one I had here…

We both had the Nutella and Pistachio flavors… wow! Now this is what gelato is supposed to taste like! The Nutella and Pistachio flavors were exactly what it was supposed to taste like! I do not regret stopping by here during my visit to Seattle. Let’s just say after dinner… this is definitely what you call a dessert! P. S. Pistachio is a favorite flavor of mine and out of all the places I’ve tried… this is hands down the best! :D

Delicious gelato! Ran into this shop while walking around Downtown Seattle. Small shop with great simple flavors. Decided to try the pear as my first sample and it instantly won me over. I love gelato that you can try and know what flavor profile it is without reading the name. The pear tasted like bosc or barlett pears and it was super refreshing. Great texture and it wasn’t overly sweet. Great place to take a date or to converse with friends. Seating is limited so it’s also nice to just eat and walk with it as well.

A MUSTTRY! i feel like this place is so underrated! i have to say they have THEBEST gelato in the seattle area. if you want gelato with unique flavors and with quality and fresh ingredients, this is the place to go. Flavors: Mojito is a MUST! so fresh, they use real mint and you can see the beautiful green specks of mint leaves all over the gelato. most refreshing and delicious flavor ever. truly cleanses your palette once you been walking around seattle and have eaten so many foods everywhere. stracciatella and pistachio are also just heavenly. creamy, flavorful, refreshing is how i sum up this place!

My friend and I stumbled in this great little shop after walking around Pikes Place and sweating up a tub of… well sweat. Let me start off by saying that the pear gelato was LIFE. ABSOLUTELIFE! The flavor was very intense and didn’t taste of that artificial sweetener at all! I was very impressed and wished gelato joints back home served more fruit flavored! The shop was very clean and the service was quick and efficient. There was a line and it seemed that we were all tended too in an effective manner. Everyone got their samples, gelatos and spoons, and I’m sure everyone left with satisfaction. Hooray!

Quite awesome. Dropped into this place on a trip to Seattle… if it’s still there, it would be good to check it out. I’m definitely a fan of gelato so provided it’s not too hard, I’m likely to say it was great.

Space is small, the line is long, but the staff is fast and the chocolate gelato is excellent! The small gelato store always has lots of people in the waiting line, and the seats are always occupied. Probably because it’s very close to the Pike Public Market and everyone wants some ice cream at such a hot summer day. Fortunately the staff is very fast so the waiting time is not very long. I ordered 3 medium ones and 2 small ones, with a total cost of $ 20. A little expensive but its gelato sure is good. The strawberry and mixed berry ones are good but not very impressive. Lots of fresh ingredients, but not much milk and milk so those two flavors’ are quite fruity, more like sorbet. For someone looking for a creamy experience, they might be disappointed. However it’s prefect for the hot summer. The chocolate one is the best IMHO. It’s rich and creamy with the distinctive dark chocolate scent. Not much sugar or milk added, so the original chocolate semi sweet flavor is very strong distinguishing it from most grocery store bought ice creams. For the chocolate lovers, this is a must-taste.

The sun was shining and I needed an excuse to have something cold and creamy in my mouth. I bought a double scoop, however, I ate 70% of it… and that is including the waffle cone. So much for sharing. I got the basic vanilla and an orange sorbet. Busy inside, therefore, it is a grab and go situation. Customer service was awesome.

The first few days in Seattle and we are still exploring it kinda blindly. I usually do not step into a place without having checked it out on Unilocal first, but hubby and I had walked a lot around and as soon as he saw this place, he went right in! I guess he has a built-in Unilocal right in his brain! Anyhow, they have several different flavors of Gelato and you can order an Affogato which is gelato«baptized in illy espresso», and you heard me right, baptized! Because the end result is just divine!!! We got a small gelato which still gives you two scoops of two different flavors. We got salted caramel and Nutella and Jesus!!! The combination of those flavors and the bitterness of Espresso just created a party in my mouth. There can be a line and it can take you a while to get your Gelato, but believe me, it is all worth it.

Sadly, I ignored this location for a long time. I was always running by to get to the Market, never having enough arms to hold the tiny cup of lactose joy. Also, I used to go to the Greenwood location on the regular before it closed down. This location is unassuming and just the right size to seat a few people. The layout is a little crowded around the case. The pistachio gelato is one of my favorites — creamy, nutty, and rich. I also enjoy the salted caramel but it’s a tad bit too sweet for me to eat on the regular. The coffee here is always good and serves as a nice compliment to the gelato. When I’m feeling particularly saucy, I’ll have an affogato which is the stuff dreams are made of.

Walking back to our car, we passed this joint that I’ve never really noticed before. I’m an ice cream nut so of course I dragged my bf inside so we could try it out(not really«drag»… He was compliant…). The server is great at his job! Attentive, patient, very friendly. We sampled a few flavors before committing. I got the mojito and pineapple in a waffle cone, and my bf got strawberry-basil and the cream one also in a waffle. Now for the food: I LOVE all the flavors they have here! Lots of refreshing fruity ones, resembling sorbetto. My flavors were delicious, as well as my bfs. Don’t expect it to be super creamy especially if you choose a fruity flavor. It definitely is more of a sorbet texture. The creamier flavors(non-fruity), on the other hand, are very creamy. what you’d expect gelato to be. Their waffle cones are made fresh! I LOVE when ice cream stores take the time to make their own waffle cones but I wasn’t too fond of the cones here. Mine was very burnt. Why would you sell a burnt cone?! My bfs cone wasn’t burnt but it was flavorless. A little cinnamon in the batter would have been a nice touch. Overall, I had a great experience. We were happy with the flavors and service. Will come back to see what other flavors they have in the future!

Stopped by this place to kill some time before heading to the airport. The word«gelato» reminded me of Italy so I went in to see their selections. I ordered an affogato. One word describes it, Delicioso. It was served in a small cup with a small spoon served just like they do in Italy. It brought me back to Italy for a little while. Gelato is made on the premises. Good. Quality. Gelato. I will definitely make my way here again.

How I heard of this place: It’s gelato. I’m always on the lookout for a good, Italian gelato, and I found it here nearly a decade ago! Type of cuisine: «Bottega Italiana was started with a simple goal: to produce the highest quality gelato. We use the finest quality fresh ingredients to offer you artisan gelato at its best.» «This is authentic artisan gelato at its best! Each flavor has its’ own unique recipe and is made in small quantities to ensure freshness. Our pistachios and hazelnuts come from Italy, and our produce is fresh and local. We do not cut corners, or simplify recipes: dozens of kiwis are peeled for a batch of kiwi gelato, and hundreds of lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruits are juiced by hand in our kitchen. All of this to achieve a gratifyingly superior product. Our gelato is definitely a labor of love. Bottega Italiana is not only committed to a high quality product but also the health and concerns of our customers. To honor this commitment to you, we make a point to avoid corn syrups, artificial colorings, flavorings and preservatives. Our fruit flavors are made only during their season, and the color in our gelato comes from the natural ingredients. No bright green pistachio or fluorescent yellow banana in our stores. When it comes to flavor and color, our gelato is strictly ‘come as you are.’» Ambiance: A simple, windowed storefront welcomes patrons into a yellow-lit living room, but one in which you can choose among a dozen flavors of freshly prepared gelato! What I ordered: In the past, I continuously returned to Bottega Italiana for their dark chocolate orange, my all-time favorite flavor! In the past five years or so, since I have been back, it seems that flavor has since been replaced… with many more decadent, rich concoctions. I had the pleasure of sampling nearly every remaining flavor, from mint, Nutella, and pear, to pineapple-basil, and strawberry-basil, but went with my favorite sample of the evening: Opera($ 2.99 for a small serving), a gelato combining pine nuts, hazelnuts, pistachio and almonds. What I loved: The richest contenders include the Opera and the pineapple-basil on this particular evening. However, should the dark chocolate orange return, that will always hold a special place in my heart. Why I loved it: Delicious, homemade gelato with fine, sometimes local ingredients and the true enjoyment of a Venice outing. Cost: Average($ 2.99 — $ 4.90 per cup)
