The best sandwich I’ve ever had! The servers are always nice. The chicken pesto is the best. I’ve visited this place many many times and also brought several friends here, every time was a blast! And all my friends love this shop as well. It should be the must-have sandwich in Seattle among all other popular sandwich shops!

This is the best sub in Seattle. When people say there is a wait they mean 10mins! Soo worth any wait! I always call ahead on my way too and it’s always hot & ready!!! Love this place soo much!

I am not a sandwich person, but this place is amazing. The bread for the royal grinder was perfectly toasted with the right amount of seasoning. Their gelato was surprisingly good; they allow you to combine scoops, and also offer a «cherry-size» of another flavor — perfect for someone who wants to try out everything! My favorite flavors are probably pistachio and mint.

One of my fav sandwich shops in Seattle. They also serve gelato. Just about everything on the menu tastes good, IMO.

The bread really makes the sandwich. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I would recommend that you leave out the olives on any sandwich you choose as it seems to overpower the food. I would give this place a better rating if it wasn’t so difficult to get to. If you are just visiting Seattle, it is very difficult to get there due to the draw bridge traffic as well as the severe lack of parking. What a shame.

I’m giving this place 5 stars just for the mini«Lenny» scoops they offer and because the guy who scooped the gelato was really nice too.

Thus place is amazing but small and slow. Our team ordered ahead and still had to wait but enjoyed eating out front on some pick nick tables. I got the Royal Grinder and couldn’t be happier.

This was the perfect dessert after eating tacos at Red Star. The gelato was so creamy and you get a nice scoop for the price!

Chicken pesto is fantastic, as is their #1 grinder. Bit pricey but well worth it. Expect to wait 10 – 15 for a sandwich even with no line, definitely worth a bit of patience. Owner is also very friendly.

The location is very interesting with a red bloodied statue of Lenin right outside the front door. very surprised to see such a big statue in Seattle. but neigborhoods aside I felt that the ice cream(gelato as they claimed) was ok. The flavors were nice, but it tasted a whole lot like ice cream to me and not like gelato. They give a free cherry sized scoop with any purchase which is a nice idea!

This is my favorite place to get a hot, satisfying sandwich in Fremont. My personal favorite is the original veggie. It is loaded with veggies and melted cheese. I’ve never eaten such a delicious and satisfying veggie sandwich I highly recommend trying it!

The staff are super friendly, especially when they have some down time outside of rush hours. I usually get either the Royal Grinder or The Italian – both are simply delicious. And I love how the sandwiches come out pipping hot. The only struggle is if you’re eating out, the sandwiches can get soggy by the time you get home. Besides their sandwiches, the gelatos are equally amazing. The classic strawberry is packed with flavor. And they give you a free«Lenny Scoop» to top off any combo. :) 4⁄5 stars mainly for the pain of finding a parking spot, the lengthy(but worth it) wait for the sandwiches, and not being able to take-out due to soggy bread.

Yummy Gelatos! I got mango and spicy chocolate. They where pretty delicious. I do wish though for more out of the ordinary flavors. Service was fast and very friendly. They also gave me a free complimentary baby scoop of my choice to top my chosen flavors.

When I first saw the place looking at the ambience I wasn’t expecting anything great. But boy, was I wrong! The veggie grinder — Original fresh veggie was tasty, toasted to perfection and not too cheesy.(Sorry I didn’t post a picture by the time I realized I was half way through my sandwich.) My husband tried the field roast veggie sausage and it tasted amazing too. The field roast was shredded and not in form of a patty so it blended perfectly into the sandwich and didn’t not feel too heavy and greasy. Then we had to have their famous gelatos– I tried the chocolate and a Lenny scoop of mint chip. Yum! The service was quick and friendly. They have many sandwich options and they even customize the sandwiches. We will be coming back soon!

Wasn’t too impressed, unfortunately. The staff was friendly but the sandwich was lacking flavor. I happened upon Royal Grinders after visiting the Fremont Troll. It is a very small shop with bar seating for about 8 people inside and outdoor seating for about 10. A bit run down and dirty, but not so much that it would seem to impact the food. I ordered the popular chicken pesto and was happy when it came out piping hot, only to realize that the bread was burnt to a crisp and the pesto lacked and garlic punch. For nearly $ 10, it was just not up to expectation, leaving a bad aftertaste and desire that I would have found a better soup restaurant on a rainy Seattle day.

Their sandwich is great and so does the gelato. The sandwich tooks a bit of time, but it worthy the wait.

This only for the ice cream!!! It was pretty good!!! I love their idea of Lenny scoop. The straciella was amazing and so was the armaerrto. Texture was very good as well. Only thing that I wish they had was the option to get it in a cone. The cup was cute but I like cones :) Overall, very good place, would definitely come back if I am in the area

Wow! It’s everything I want in a sandwich. Crusty bread with soft center. Just the right amount of ingredients. When you take a bite the sandwich filling doesn’t gush out the other end. Chicken pesto– warm sandwich so yummy. Love everything about it but the olives because I’m not an olive person. I think next time I’ll ask if I can add a slice of ham to it too. Cheese perfectly melted. They take their time making the sandwich so in the end every bite has a layer of each ingredient :). No edges missing filling. Best sandwich ever! Italian sandwich — realy good. Just enough cold cuts so that its not too salty. And it’s a warm sandwich. Cheese melted perfectly again. The mayo or some sauce that goes on it is also selfish!

One of the few gelato places in fremont that also serves subs: For $ 7.99, we ordered the triple scoop gelato chocolate 3 stars, strawberry 4 stars and mango 3 stars. It was ok but i’ve tasted better. french dip with au jus — 4 stars — for $ 8.99, we got a huge sandwich with a lot of roast beef in it and melted cheese. A delicious non-oily french dip that was toasted to have a nice and crispy crust, and au jus to go with it.

The review is for their gelatos and it is excellent! My favorite flavors are pistachio and bread pudding. They give you a generous amount of gelato, and top it off with a cute tiny scoop of a diffrent flavor. Price for the gelato is $ 3 – 6. Next time i gotta try their sandwiches, it looks and smells good.
