Don’t eat here. The pizza is always burnt or undercooked and I have yet to receive my pizza on time or close to the time it was promised at. We live near by and tried to support a good business, but we can only give them the benefit of the doubt so many times.

They never ever pick up the phone during the times they are open. Their website and menu links are not even live anymore. Sad to see a good place go downhill

Eaters beware! New owners and they are really struggling. I’d give it a month and if they’re still open. Well… maybe not even then.

BAD news with GREAT food. the proprietor told me their lease is up as of January 15 whereupon Red Star Pizza will BENOMORE. I stared, mouth open and in shock and he said ‘Enjoy us until then“ Boy will I ever! I might even freeze a dozen Veggie masterpieces for my future. But this explains all the inconsistent open times, they were looking for a place. Another wonderful West Seattle perfect place bites the dust. See you there

Red Star pizza makes THE. BEST. PIZZA. The toppings are fresh and abundant, the crust is the best(I especially like the thinner winner), and they are prompt with delivery. Why one star? This evening I called for 20 minutes; the calls were never answered. After several rings, the phone would go to voice mail, but one cannot leave a message as the mailbox is full. No announcement stating they are closed for the holiday. In the past, when they were closed, I listened to an announcement that they were closed, but the announcement stated the wrong date. I have talked with someone that may have been a new employee as this person did not know how to enter my order for a half ‘n half, so it took over ten minutes to take my order, and I was wondering why the person didn’t just write down my order and then receive help entering the order into the computer. Several times they have run out of the toppings I would like to have. Red Star will probably be my first choice, but I will be prepared to be frustrated or disappointed, and call my second choice sooner.

I’ve driven past this place multiple times during their supposed open hours and it’s been dark and closed. When I did order from them, the toppings were sparse and the pizza was unimpressive, especially for the price. If it’s actually still open they don’t seem to be concerned about keeping their customers happy. Proletariat delivers now, so I would pass on this place.

It sure would have been nice if they could have updated their website to reflect that they were closed/moving/whatever. I had an event in the area and needed to feed my volunteers, had to scramble to find a new pizza place.

Still leaving four stars up in my update, despite not being able to order pizza about half the time from this place. Why? Because I still love their pizza and their employees. The business has been going through some troubles lately it seems, with their land being sold and uncertainty about a new location, etc. I’m honestly not even sure if they are open are closed,(and if they are closed, if they’ll ever open again!). I’m putting in the plea to Redstar to please be more open in communication about whether or not your business is open. Make use of your twitter account or an FB page, or even the WSB! Every time my call goes unanswered I get a little sad about having to eat some other dumb pizza.

According to their Twitter page, the land their restaurant is on is being sold.

Easily the best pizza in the West Seattle area. The food is fantastic. The person that answers the phone and the delivery drivers are always extremely friendly and the pie is always hot. Then why the single star? I’ve tried to order with them a few times over the last month(not on Mondays, they’re closed) and my call goes to voicemail. I’ve talked to a few friends in the area who have related that they’re having the same issue. If you’re that busy, invest in another phone line or two. Hire another part timer to answer them. Perhaps you’re wanting to keep your business small(which is laudable in this day and age), but all this does is alienate loyal(& hungry) customers.

What a horribly run establishment! I’ll just recap by giving you an excerpt of an email sent to them… which, by the way, they never even bothered to respond to. «Let me take you back to two weeks ago when we called many times getting only a message that was weeks old, saying that you „unfortunately were closed October 8th“ and would be open the following day. This was October 22nd, mind you. Fine, I get it. Restauranteuring is tough and something may have come up. October 28th, we call and no answer. At least your message was updated to say you weren’t open, so we could stop calling and find another pizza place. That brings us to today, where we call at 4:30 to make sure you’re open and, shockingly, you are. When asked why you weren’t open the previous two weeks, the person candidly stated that „we weren’t staffed properly“ and couldn’t be open. Even if that is the real reason, which is utterly ridiculous(I can’t even begin to understand how one runs a business like that), you certainly shouldn’t tell anyone that. Well, we manage to actually order pizza and are told it would be 25 – 40 minutes. Reasonable, until it arrives 65 minutes later and barely warm! Not at all hot.» So, needless to say I will never call them again. You have been warned. I suppose they get a star for delivering edible food. Is that overrating?

Well, all you reviewers inspired me to try Red Star Pizza today(conveniently, 3 blocks from my house). Thank you! It’s now our favorite local pizza place(beating out Amante, Papa John’s, Papa Murphy’s, Olympia, Zeek’s, and Giovanni’s). We had an XL thin crust Supernove Spicy Supreme for delivery. The crust was delicious, and nicely thin. Not soggy or greasy at all! There was a TON of toppings, which were all piping hot and tasted fresh. Being originally from San Diego, I have high expectations when something says«spicy», and I was NOT disappointed here. It’s not too spicy to eat, but has a nice sizzle and a lot of flavor. The customer service was great– friendly gal working the phone, friendly kid doing delivery, and we got it in 15 minutes. And the size! 10 pieces, with as much stuff as they piled on– it’s dinner and tomorrow’s lunch for both of us. Yay! We will definitely be back, in person, to try everything else they offer. If you’re looking for a good, tasty, non-greasy, non-expensive pizza place in West Seattle, you can’t do better than Red Star Pizza. UPDATE9÷1÷13: We tried their Big Dipper meal deal on thin crust with pink sauce, roasted red peppers, and spicy pepperoni– awesome! The pepperoni wasn’t actually spicy, but the pink sauce was delightful. This time was somewhat greasy, but not soggy or nasty at all. We also had their jalapeño cheese sticks with bleu cheese dipping sauce. There’s plenty of jalapeño on those sticks, and the bleu cheese is thick and tastes homemade. Red Star is now officially our go-to pizza place.

Let me start off by talking about the pizza. It’s okay — nothing great. Cheap with decent quality ingredients but pretty uninspired crust. Nonetheless, there’s good value there and normally I like to support the local places over the chains. If it wasn’t for my recent experience I’d give it 3 stars. However, recently my wife called in an order for me — she ordered me a pepperoni and sausage pizza. She was supposed to order 2 pizzas — one for the kids — but forgot so I walked in and started the conversation by saying my wife screwed up(meaning she was supposed to order 2). The cashier finds my order and says she ordered 1 pepperoni and mushroom pizza. I respond by saying she was supposed to order 2 but even that one is wrong — she ordered pepperoni sausage and knows I hate mushrooms so would never order that(and wouldn’t have ordered it for the kids either — they get cheese). The cashier says, «Well, we already made it so we’re out the money». I respond by telling her that it’s not what I wanted or what was ordered and she goes the find the manager. He comes up and tells me they can make me another one. Great! Make me what I wanted and everybody is happy. Then, much to my abject shock, the cashier tells me I still have to pay for the pepperoni and mushroom pizza! What? Are you kidding? You screw up the order and want me to pay for it? I tell her that’s not what we ordered and I’m not going to pay for it and the manager responds that they read the order back so that’s what my wife had confirmed. I, again, tell them that under no earthly circumstances would my wife order me mushrooms and that he was mistaken. They shrug and tell me I have to take it and I tell them to enjoy it and walk out the door. Upon getting home, my wife confirmed that she ordered pepperoni sausage and that’s what was repeated back to her. I can’t imagine an establishment treating a customer like that over an error. They lost a regular customer over, what — 2 dollars in materials? Anyway, if a place is managed like that, one can only wonder what other ways they are screwing over their customers.

What the hell happened Red Star?!? Our last 2 pizzas from here(about 8 or so months apart) were HORRIBLE. We called and ordered a couple of pizzas for delivery. After tipping the driver… we opened the pizza to take a peek and we were shocked. They were supposed to be 2 topping pizzas but one of the pizzas had only about 3 pieces of one of the toppings on it. 3! So we called Red Star to address the issue. They were complete assholes. We swore off going there every again.(not so much for the mistake. since those happen. But now they handled the mistake) Fast forward 8 or so months… we’re chilling at home watching a movie. we get hungry… we decide to give them another shot. Maybe it was a fluke! Maybe we can forgive the assholery. So we order another pizza for delivery. That pizza was so foul. I would have rather had Little Caesars. We would have rather paid $ 6 for a large pizza that was made an hour ago from Little Caesars than eaten this crap from Red Star. I don’t know what happened… Maybe change of management? Ingredients? Quality control? Anyway, this place blows.

The best deal for a personal size pizza in all of WS(my humble opinion, of course)! 3.99 gets you a personal pan with three toppings! If you can crave pizza while they are open(I tend to crave them when they aren’t) then you should definitely check them out!

When we want takeout pizza, Red Star is a no-brainer for us. We don’t even have to ask each other where to go or what kind of pizza to get. Red Star is it. We got the Supernova Spicy Supreme the first visit and loved it. It has Pepperoni, Salami, Italian Sausage, Jalapenos, Pepperoncinis, Red Onion, Roasted Red Peppers, Dried Peppers, Roasted Garlic and Extra Cheese with hot Marinara sauce. The second visit, we branched out a bit and got the Gold Star Pacific(Double Smoked Ham, Pineapple, Red Onions, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, extra cheese, Cheddar, and Bacon). It wasn’t as magical as the Supernova Spicy Supreme, so since then, the Supernova is what we get. I still am impressed by the quality of the ingredients. The cheese is fresh and high quality. The meats are generous and… meaty. The veggies are crisp and plentiful. You never are searching for a topping you thought was on your pizza. My personal favorite topping are the whole roasted garlic cloves — sweet and tangy. The prices are fair for the excellent quality. If you prefer a simpler pizza, there are always coupons online for a great deal on a one or two topping pizza. In my opinion, you can’t ask for a better pizza.

This pizza is NOT good. This had great reviews and tips so we tried it. Having lived in Seattle for only 12 days, I hope this isnt it for pizza. To make matters worse, we received someone else’s order. We wanted a large pepperoni and extra cheese pizza and 10 wings Hot. When we got home we realized we had 2 pizza boxes(not sure why that didn’t click right away) and it was a cheese pizza and a very supreme pizza with 10 boring wings. We will not be returning to this place of business and only hope to experience better pizza shops from now on.

Red Star’s pizza and breadstick boxes are freaking adorable.(see photo) More importantly, they deliver to all parts of West Seattle — Huzzah! Even the Alki/Admiral area! Plus, the pizza is damn good. Like, bubbly, tasty crust with rich cheese. And the breadsticks are the best I’ve had since. forever? — Pagliacci’s are too salty and peppery. These are deep dish, doughy, covered in herbs(not cheese) and absolutely delicious. They also offer tons of dipping sauces(blue cheese, ranch, marinara, etc). Lastly, Red Star delivered to my apartment in 25 minutes. They told me 35 – 45 minutes, and were there in 25. Wow. I will definitely, definitely be eating there again. Exactly what a pizza lover needs.
