My wife and I moved to the area a few months ago and we have been trying all of the nearby pizzerias. Unfortunately, Giannoni’s served not only the most disappointing pizza in the area, but it was undoubtedly the worst pizza I have ever purchased. 1) On the 18″ large pizza we ordered there were so few toppings I thought they accidentally gave us someone else’s order. I asked one of the employees if that was how the pizza was normally made and he assured me that there were more toppings under the cheese that I couldn’t see. However, that was a lie. There were no hidden toppings under the cheese. It seems reasonable to expect more than ½ slice of canadian bacon on a slice of Hawaiian pizza. It also seems reasonable to expect more than 1.5 slices of pepperoni on a large slice of pepperoni pizza. 2) There was an undetectable amount of sauce, if any. I could not find any sauce between the crust and the cheese. 3) The crust was soggy and had as much rigidity as over-cooked pasta. 4) It was thrown together with no attempt to spread the toppings evenly. It’s not like there was a rush and employees were busy; we were the only customers. 5) We threw most of the pizza into the trash and instead we ate leftovers from the fridge for dinner. There is no pride in the product here. I do not recommend this restaurant and we will not be ordering here again.

Really cool pizza place in the middle of unsuspecting Westwood Village. This place has serious character(yes the water is served in an industrial bucket– get over it) and the storefront would never indicate that. Pizza is pretty darn good, plus they offer slices. Maybe a tad overpriced. Service isn’t that great, but it does the job. All in all a solid spot when you need your pizza fix in West Seattle.

Went here Tuesday(4⁄26) for the first time ever(even though I live minutes away). With a busy evening planned, I stopped in and ordered 3 calzones for my kids, hoping to avoid extra stress making dinner at home. After placing my order and subsequently charging my card, some kid on the phone nonchalantly says, «Oh yeah well we only have enough dough for one». WTF?! A pizzeria only has enough dough to make one ‘mini’ calzone?!! Then they tried to sell me pizza instead. I just asked for my money back and I seriously doubt that I would ever return to this place. The overall vibe that I got was this place was in serious need of some new management! I ended up being late to pick up my kids having wasted a good 10 – 15 minutes here(and still had to make dinner at home)!

$ 65 for a salad, 2 pizzas and cheese bread. The pizzas tasted ok but were wet and soggy — no cheese or toppings within 2 inches of the edge.

Nice slice of handthrown, thin crust pizza with yummy ingredients. Everyone was super pleasant including a middle-aged lady I took to be the owner or manager. She was throwing dough while greeting people. Slice was a little on the pricey side, but its quality and size compensated for it.

This place has some shady employees and vibe to it. It’s unfortunate because when the pizza is made right, it’s delicious — I don’t eat pizza much because of my snobbish standards from ny, but i’ll eat this stuff. Came here tonight, ordered a slice and the guy up front left it in for like 10 minutes. It came out burnt and scalding hot. I asked him to make me another slice with a request not to make it hot, but he almost did the same thing until I gave him another reminder. Luckily his sober counterpart took the pizza out and made an effort to make it right. The pizza is fantastic, but I don’t think I would return. plus they have a home depot bucket water dispenser. really?

I took my family for a fun day and Pizza. I asked for help to order 3 times. The waitress was rude, hostile, and disorganized. it took 40 minutes to make 3 slices. The pizza was burnt and dripped with grease. the table was filthy and covered with food. I would never reccomend this restaurant.

I really want to like this place, but I’ve gone three times now and each time it’s been terrible. The pizza itself isn’t –that– bad, like… you won’t absolutely hate it(then again, Ive only gotten three types of pizza here, so don’t know about the others), but it’s not consistent. I love thin crust, but the pizza is –so– flimsy, and not put together well that all the toppings come right off.(The very few toppings they put on it). You get better slice pizza from PCC or whole foods, even. My main problem isn’t with the flavour though(as it isn’t so terrible that you can’t eat it) it’s the customer service. I don’t know if every time I’ve just been really unlucky, but each time it’s high school kids or what seems to be hs kids running the place. Nothing wrong with that, expect for they act like kids while doing so. The first time I had seen people going from wiping tables, cleaning tables, sitting back, touching their phones, gave, hair, to immediately touching pizza without washing their hands. The first time I had visited, everyone was talking badly about someone(and loudly enough that they were talking through the entire store, from the front to the back part of the establishment), and just leaning against the counters and some had been sitting at the tables, not actually doing anything even though they had been getting orders via the phone(from what I heard as I waited, at least). I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, and is why I went back two more times since hey, it could have been a bad day, or new people working. No. It’s been constantly disappointing, with flavour and service. This most recent time, they didn’t even bother to cut our pizza when I went to pick it up :/Partially my fault for not checking before leaving, but who the f doesn’t slice the pizza??? Also, check the prices, we got charged more than what is said on the website, but apparently they have raised the prices(?) according to other reviewers. I’ll stick to pagliaccis, even if it’s out of the way and way more expensive, at least I know what I’m getting from them.

Worst Pizza place I have ever been to. First of all, the customer service is terrible. The girl that works there is the worst. She is unpleasent, refuses to smile, and worst of all she walked in on my husband while in the restroom(after I told her he was in there) and didn’t even apologize! We had to them wait 40 minutes for a disgusting, greasy excuse for a pizza. 40 minutes! Seriously? I could have had pizza hut or dominos delivered to me in that same time. When I asked the boy making the pizzas how much longer he kept saying«a little while more» meanwhile they were busy chatting and texting behind the counter and what was worse is not once did anyone of them wash their hands before handling food. It was gross. We grabbed or pizza and got out of there almost an hour later. And then went through a drive thru. Definitely wont be back.

This place is a joke. Super gloomy service from the girl working the front chomping away on her gum. I don’t expect a ton from a pizza place, but the cups were filthy, tables and chairs and high-chairs were sticky and falling apart. Customer service was unfriendly. Restaurant is empty and food is taking forever. 3 people on duty and all I have ordered was a slice of pepperoni pizza for my son and I. I will not be returning. And after 20 minutes of waiting and asking the employees 2 separate times if the pizza slice was almost ready(meaning heated up) they had never put the order in. That’s right, three people at the front making pizzas. One customer — me, and I left without food for myself or my child. I got my money back, but that doesn’t make up for a crying hungry baby. This is my first bad review. I feel like I would be doing the public a disservice by neglecting to inform them of the train wreck this restaurant was.

Wow, worst pizza experience ever! We live in the area and usually go to another place that’s a good bit further so thought we’d give the local pizza place a shot. Like others our pizza was burnt, crust hard as a rock and it was a flat, tasteless pizza. The side that was supposed to be sausage was smashed to a pulp and honestly looked like something I’d give my dog. I’ve never written a bad review on Unilocal but I can’t believe how bad this was. We filled up our yard waste with this one.

I have had slices here a few times and they are always great and closer to NYC type slices than anything else here in Seattle. I thought I would write this since it seems like there have been a bunch of negative reviews lately. Not sure why because it’s great pizza with perfect crispy crust every time I’ve tried it. I agree that it is expensive, but considering the shrinkage of slice size at pagliacci over recent years, I’ll take these any day.

Thin crust — you need to eat these pizzas hot. If they sit around because you’re late for your oder or because you had a long drive home, it won’t be nearly as good. I eat here about twice per month, usually call ahead and take home. Sauce is a sweet more than tart.

After Red Star went on a hiatus, we’ve been DYING for a decent pizza place in W. Sea to call our own. This isn’t it, sadly. And I really wanted it to be! Because I had a fantastic sandwich here a few months ago and the friendly owner seemed really interested in my feedback and experience… so I thought it was time to try out the pizza. The Unilocalers here had posted some pics of good-looking pie. And I(mostly) trust that. The two people working there tonight were really sweet. The girl with the pinkish hair at the counter was friendly. The guy who made the pizzas actually apologized for making one of them«too big.» LOL. That’s not a problem in our house, buddy. Trust. However, when I got home with the pizzas and started doling out slices, it was like some sort of practical joke. The slices were limp, thin, and slimy. The toppings slid off in a pile. I’ve honestly never had pizza this sad, ever. The slices were actually crying, big fat mozzarella tears, with hunks of pineapple and canadian bacon falling over themselves to hop off the trainwreck. My 4 year old daughter told me she was leaving home for better parents. This owner seems to care a great deal about her business. Perhaps this was a one-off with a newbie at the oven? All I know is I spent a good chunk of change on food that is now in my compost heap. And we’re eating cereal for dinner.

No stars for this place. I walked in to order a piece of pizza, and the young man who had just been sweeping the floor stops what he is doing, opens the refrigerator, and takes a piece of pizza out of the refrigerator with his hands. I could not believe my eyes. I said to him, «wait — you were just sweeping the floor and didn’t wash your hands» — and he replied, «but I wash my hands all day.» Enough said.(PS: I tried to leave zero stars here on Unilocal, but they require that you leave at least one star.)

We are new to West Seattle and were excited about finding a ‘neighborhood’ pizza place so close to the house. What a disappointment. The service was fine for take out but the pizza was awful. I’m not picky and rarely complain but I mean a w f u l. Frozen grocery store pizza is better. Ordered one of the special pizzas and it was barely edible. Fresh tomatoes — less than one slice chopped up. Chicken — a couple of scraps. Goat cheese and mozzarella — a cheesy paste that had the texture of canned parmesan. Crust was paper thin, the kind that when you pick up a piece it folds over like a wet piece of cardboard, AND it was burned. We always buy large for leftovers, this went in the trash. It was $ 25, total waste. Will never be back. Would be zero stars if possible.

Our service was decent. That is really the only good thing about this experience. We got a pepperoni pizza for dinner and there was much less pepperoni than we expected. The crust was thin and chewy. The cheese was thin and I didn’t like the flavor of the sauce. I won’t be returning.

Customer service was non-existent. The girl at the counter didn’t smile or look at us during the entire order. While paying she left her drawer open and engaged in a conversation with another employee about change that she should get later, and we were not even finished checking out. The pizza was okay, the bread sticks were not good at all. They apparently have new higher prices that were not posted and when asked the differences, no clear answer was even given. On top of it, they placed our pizza on a counter between bottles of cleaning supplies which I know were not even supposed to be up there. I have included a photo of this. I think they heard us talk about that because it was quickly removed after.

Went to this place cause at first glance the place had a cool vibe. I should have looked closer. Waited for 10 mins for our order to be takin. Ordered to salads and a pie. 45 mins later still no salad or pizza. Finally an under cooked pizza look alike came. Guy says, sorry i burnt the first one. So we had salads i say. Couldnt we have got them while we waited forever for the pizza??? And last of all the pizza was horrible crust was ok, sauce was red water, toppings all came off immediately to a puddle on the table. Dirty tables everywhere. Dude who burnt the pizza was in the back eating and texting while i watched. Just all out bad. Drive 2 mins away and go to proletariat in white center.

I’ve now been waiting for 20 minutes for two slices of pizza after waiting for five minutes for someone to acknowledge me. We are the only people here. Pizza is ok but not great.

This mom-and-pop local pizzeria is pretty awesome. The prices are very fair, the service is awesome, and the pizza is good. They don’t have delivery but they do have take-out. They were even nice enough one weekend night to let us call in a take-out order 20 minutes before they closed and that was appreciated. I’m a big fan of the Pizza Marianna that comes with garlic, caramelized onions, olives, and fontina cheese. Yum! You also can’t go wrong with their plain cheese pizza, and adding mushrooms is also delicious. They carry a giant selection of canned sodas(e.g. Cherry Coke) and some nostalgic craft sodas in glass bottles(e.g. Dad’s Root Beer) too. They also have a couple rotating flavors of Full Tilt ice cream for dessert.

Very surprised. My BF and I came here for the first time, not knowing what to expect. We were shocked, in a good way. What we saw, as we looked around when we first went in, vs. the service and food is why we were so surprised. But first, the food. We both ordered a small salad and a baked chicken sandwich. I got the antipasto misto salad, and my BF got the house salad. We got water — we’re trying to stop drinking soda — and then went outside to the patio. We were in awe when the salads came out, because the place looked like a hole in the wall and we figured it was going to be like a fast food joint. The salads were big for being the small sizes, and the ingredients were all fresh and tasted wonderful. Then our chicken sandwiches came out, made with chopped chicken, bacon and a really great white sauce. They had been cooked in the pizza oven and were cooked to the perfect temperature and texture. We didn’t think we’d be able to finish everything, but we did. I’m pretty sure it was because the food was so damn good. Aesthetically, the place is a dive and needs a lot of work. The unprofessional signs that are curling up on the edges that were posted years ago with tape to the drywall about how they don’t make change no matter what so don’t you dare ask, the bucket — yes, literal bucket — used for water with old, faded black permanent marker written on it making one feel cheap and also kinda like a farm animal as you fill your water glass, and the bulletin board with a hundred business cards for random people with another 50 that have fallen off and are laying on the shelf and floor are just some of the reasons why I mention this. The front of the restaurant gives it the appearance that there is nowhere to sit down, so be sure to look in the back as there are a couple tables in the far back and then some patio tables outside. Food: 4 Service: 5 Aesthetic: 2 Parking: 3

Saturday night, pizza night for the family — since we were busy on Friday. We like to spread our dining dollars around and show love to all the local businesses. This time it was Giannoni’s turn. My wife really likes thin crust, and they make about a ¼ incher. Some kids also like a little sauce, and theirs is on the light side of the scale(for me). I call in the order and when we get done I’m asked to provide a credit card. I protest and am told that it is now their policy to take the card number for any order of 2 or more(to ensure you come). Man, that sucks if they have been burned so many times that it has come to that for them. I channel my inner jerk, give the blow by blow to my wife, and threaten everyone that I’m just going to go to Proletariat instead. I hang up but am persuaded to go to Giannoni’s and order from the front. OK. So, I walk in and confess it’s me, place my order — 2 large pizzas(margarita and a pepperoni) and pay(was it $ 47?). I turn around and run into friends heading out the door and turn them on to trying Full Tilt for their ice cream fix before leaving beautiful White Center for Beacon Hill. I walk over to QFC(being a new Unilocaler I feel compelled to get some check-ins) to buy some 2L(sweet only $ 1 ea). Walk back and the pizzas are out and getting the basil and tomato added, post oven. Receive the two large boxes and notice they are a lot lighter then I was expecting. Nothing bad, I checked to make sure the pep was in the box before driving off(even got a photo of it in the truck). At home, I went with a slice of each. I like their pizza, always have. However, I like a little thicker pizza, and if I’m ordering a thin crust just for me, it’s from Tutta Bella or some other wood fired oven. The pizzas have always been on the saltier side here for me, the family also pointed out that they were greasy. Hey baby, fat is flavor I say! The pizzas were good, if I were a critical reviewer I would say the margarita was overcooked. I like Giannoni’s with a group, out on their patio, enjoying the Seattle air. For take-out, the majority of my orders go to Pizza Gallery — where they greet me by name when they see my phone number and when I walk in. I also love Proletariat up on 16th, and enjoy the family friendly vibe when dining in. For the local greasy gut bomb I’ll head to White Center Pizza and Spaghetti House and offset it with a tasty salad.

Oh Yesssss! I love to find family business that happen not to be chains. The family that runs this spot, is wonderfully helpful, friendly and definitely brings spice to the pizzeria. Big fat slices of pizza at a decent price! Lots of selections to create that pie of choice. I love the atmosphere too. In the back, there is a wall that serves as a «garage door» which lets a great breeze come in and offers entry to outdoor seating.

The best pizza I have ever had! It is made as you order … I had a slice of pizza with red onions, mushrooms and sausage… so good. The help is always friendly and prompt. By far one of the best pizza places in Seattle.
