I like the location and atmosphere of this place for the most part. Like to sit at the bar and have drinks. But I ordered the fish tacos recently and they were the fishiest thing I’ve ever had. I just can’t believe they served them, they were inedible. The worst seafood thing I’ve EVER had in Seattle and we dine out every single weekend. Other menu items are pretty good but this was an epic fail.

Wonderful old world feel, dark wood, a long beautiful bar and outstanding service. We were greeted by the owner who sat us quickly. Our water glasses never got low the whole meal and bread was on the table before I even picked up the menu. The menu is small but with a variety of local fish, fresh made pasta or chicken and steak options, there is something for most everyone. I ordered the linguine and clams, it was light and flavorful and I have never in my life finished a plate of linguine, but I did last night! It was incredibly delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try the crab cakes next time.

I have been coming to QCG for more than 20 years and was a regular off and on when I actually lived in the city. Same owner now as then. Same wonderful, almost NYC atmosphere. I really love this place because of the happy hour, the drinks, the wine list, the fabulous food, and the staff that changes from year to year but always seems very eager to please, attentive and very hopeful. Dinner last night with a great friend was simply superior in all respects. Some classic dishes like caesar salad and a NY strip. Perfectly cooked steak. Exquisite flavor. A great bartender before we went to the table and a great server during dinner. One nice change is the expansion of reasonably priced wine bottles on the wine list. We could select from 5 Malbecs at $ 40, for example. So great to return to a favorite and find that is is still remarkable.

Staff was torn between door and bar. Felt unattended. Food was average, but out of order. Soup before salad, etc. Dissatisfied.

Classic Northwest gastropub. I came here with a co-worker who used to live in the area. Great experience. This is a local place that caters to locals but close enough to downtown to for tourists to drop by. One of the things I love about Seattle is the happy hours. You sit at the bar, drink a local brew, and order from a happy hour menu that highlights the food of the restaurant. Since the servings are small and inexpensive, I get to sample several different flavors. This evening I had the clam chowder and calamari puttanesca. Excellent, the crusty Italian bread let me soak up all the sauce. Enjoy.

We went here for our first meal after flying in to Seattle. I have always loved this place and couldn’t wait to try their Dungeness crab cakes again! Although they have altered their recipe a bit(thinner cake and smaller sized) they were still delightful. We split the crab cakes and also split an order for a rack of lamb, and had the perfect meal for the two of us. A nice bottle of Merlot and the evening couldn’t have been more enjoyable! Can’t wait to come back!

BF and I ate here while we were visiting in Seattle from Portland for a little weekend getaway– the overall experience was pleasant! At first, service was very slow… Took about 25 – 30 mins for someone to come drop bread and water, and then about another 15 for them to take our coffee order, and then about another 15 to actually bring the coffee… However once our dinner orders were placed everything was timely and fine, it’s definitely a leisurely vibe here. The lighting and ambiance make for a very moody and intimate experience. I just had plain salad due to being vegan, however my BF had the rainbow trout which he said was amazing! The bartender sings opera??? Unsure if that was a one time deal or if that’s part of his«schtick» but it was funny to overhear. Wouldn’t recommend taking children or anyone under 18 really, it’s a mature spot.

I forgot how much I liked this place, it had been something like 15 years since I’d been there and it was just awesome to be back. My daughter had a performance around the block so my wife and I decided to pop into the Queen City Grill while we waited for her show. The owner(I’m assuming it was the owner) was gracious and friendly, made you feel like a regular. It was a warm night and we asked if we could sit outside, without missing a beat he hustled to get the table ready and get us going. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were quickly made and served. We ordered the crab cakes and caprese salad for appetizers. They came quickly and were just awesome. I loved the remoulade that came with the crab cakes and the cakes were primarily crab, not filling. Making a cake that is predominantly filling is the cardinal sin of crab cakery. The greens that came with the crab cakes was a nice surprise. Dressed with something very tasty and an excellent complement to the crab cakes and remoulade. The caprese salad was great as well. I didn’t read that it was made with heirloom tomatoes, so I was pretty happy to see them on the plate when they arrived. A really good dish. We were in a bit of a hurry so we were looking at the menu with an eye to what might be quicker. I feel kind of embarrassed to say that we ordered burgers at a great seafood place, but we did… and I didn’t regret it. The burgers were fantastic. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked and I REALLY liked the onions that were slightly grilled. The onions, lettuce, tomatoes etc came on the side so you could build it to your liking. We moved to the eastside long ago and going to a great place like the Queen City Grill makes me miss being in the city and going to familiar places like this that make you feel at home.

The food was good, but didn’t wow me. I felt like the portion I was given was missing some of it. Our waiter was very nice and the drinks were poured just how I like them. I do enjoy the vibe of this place. Sort of an almost industrial vibe mixed with a classy martini bar. I’d return even just to get drinks.

The perfect pairing of food and ambiance. My husband and I stop for a glass of wine and ended up eating our Easter dinner here. It was the best steak I’ve ever eaten, seriously. The wine selection was a perfect pairing and we had a meal fit for a king between the two of us. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Flatliner. We can’t wait to go back.

Went there tonight with six of my close friends for dinner the waiter Lorenzo was wonderful very attentive he made sure that we all were fed Three of us had the New York strip steak and it was perfect with mashed potatoes and excellent meal my friends had salads and my other friend had a hamburger we all enjoyed our food I definitely would go back and I have to admit that it was not that expensive for a New York strip steak it was $ 32 The place is very dark and I would make reservations but it was a very enjoyable meal and I would tell you if you’re looking to entertain please take people to this restaurant because you will thoroughly enjoy it I would’ve given it a five star if it would’ve had a little bit more lights inside the restaurant it was just very dark and we had to use our phones to look at the menu

My family was visiting from California and a friend recommended this place, so we tried it out. Let me start by saying that the food was not bad at all. It was good. Not stellar, but definitely satisfying. The ambiance is nice, and the place is clean. I’m giving this place a 1-star review because of the horrendous service we experienced. It was a Monday night so it was pretty dead. We were 1 of 4 tables in the whole place. Our waitress took our order, and everything seemed fine. While we were waiting though, we noticed her and another server taking turns leaving through the front door and running down the street a bit. Kind of odd, right? It all came together when she came back to our table smelling like marijuana. We’re a pretty relaxed crowd so we just laughed it off. My mom ordered another cosmo, and my mother-in-law ordered another lemon drop. 5 minutes later, a food runner delivered my mom’s cosmo and a vodka on the rocks for my mom’s boyfriend, even though he hadn’t ordered a second one. The waitress came up and asked my mother-in-law, «Would you like another lemon drop?» to which my mother-in-law replied, «Yeah, I already ordered one, but you brought him a drink instead.» The waitress said, «Oh, right. Let me check at the bar and see if it’s up yet.» SHECOMPLETELYDISREGARDEDTHATSHEHADMADEANERRORWHENSHERANGITUPINTHECOMPUTER. So the lemon drop comes. All is cool. Mistakes happen. We get it. Then, our dinner comes out. All of the entrees except my mother-in-law’s. The waitress looks down and asks her, «Are we missing something here?» … «Yes, my dinner.» … «Right. And what did you order again?» … «The happy hour fish tacos.» … «Right. Those should be up in about 30 seconds.» She leaves. At this point, we’re getting pretty frustrated. We’re not idiots. We can tell she never even rang the fish tacos in. Sure enough, she comes back over and says to my mother-in-law, «We’re out of the rock fish for the tacos, is salmon ok?» AGAIN. SHECOMPLETELYDISREGARDEDTHATSHEMADEANERRORWHENSHERANGUPOURMEALINTHECOMPUTER. 10 min. later, she comes over with the tacos and says they will be comped.(Thank you!) THEN, she slides a glass of white wine of the table and tells her she’s giving us that for free because we had to wait. No one at our table was drinking white wine. My mother-in-law does not like white wine. Even if she did, she was drinking lemon drops all night! WHYINTHEWORLDWOULDYOUBRING A COMPLETELYDIFFERENTBEVERAGEANDASSUMEYOUAREDOINGUS A FAVORBECAUSEITSFREE?! If you are going to be a royal idiot and smoke weed while you’re on the job, you better be able to still get your shit done. This could’ve been a really nice meal with my family, but it wasn’t. She never once came over and apologized for making a mistake. My mom’s boyfriend even went up to her while she giggled with her fellow stoned servers behind the bar. He returned the glass of white wine, and chewed her out about how poor her service was. He paid the bill up at the bar. He even tipped her 10%. She ignored us the rest of our meal. I am a waitress, I totally know that mistakes happen. However, most customers will be understanding if you just sack up and say, «I’m so sorry, that was absolutely my fault. What can I do to make it up to you?» A free glass of cheap white wine is not the answer. Queen City Grill, get your servers in line. That was absolutely ridiculous and we will not be back.

What can you say about a place that hooks you up with FREE clam chowder because you’re not feeling well? Best customer service at a restaurant, in a while! To top it off, the clam chowder was impressive and tastes as if it were home made. I’ll update this when I make everyone else come back for a proper meal but the menu looked good.

I wanted to like this place, because the owner was so nice and attentive. He stopped by to say hi after chatting as we got our seat. But… the food is amazingly bland. The crab cake was just boring, the salad was dressed well but the dressing seemed like it needed salt or something, and while my cocktails were solid, they weren’t very flavorful either. My waiter was clearly very new and the owner gave him a couple of minor reprimands, like don’t lean over on the table with your hands down on the table(Not in front of me, but I watched them interact in the kitchen counter area) so I know how much attention to detail the owner has! The ambiance is very old-town classy, but this just didn’t live up to my expectations.
