Best Mexican(very unusual in a good way) food in the city. Fundido is out of this world, mussels are sublime. Love it!

We were excited to try this relatively new addition to Belltown’s restaurant scene. Verdict: good food, but service and drinks could be better. We had made a reservation for a table for five and were seated quickly in the slightly uncomfortable tall chairs towards the back of the restaurant. The décor is quite nice and I loved the open kitchen area. Drinks were so-so. The cocktails were mostly ice and none of my friends finished their drinks. The food, however, was excellent. There were multiple vegetarian options. The burrito bowl with grilled cactus and tomatoes was amazing – perfectly spiced, flavourful and a perfectly sized portion. Friendly service but nobody came to check if our food was OK until we were nearly done. And our request for some salsa to go with the chips was met rather reluctantly with a tiny portion of pico de gallo.(Seriously, tortilla chips without salsa?) As is often the case, the big smiles only come out at the end when the checks are being signed.

I’ve been here twice, once with a friend and once solo. The restaurant itself is really nicely designed. Very sharp and well thought out. I especially like the giant central bar. They have a very limited beer selection, just some Mexican beers and Mannys if I recall correctly. Happy hour prices are pretty decent. Normal dinner menu seemed quite spendy. I didn’t think the food was anything special and the person who joined me said their food wasn’t hot. It also seemed to take a long while for food to arrive in a near empty restaurant. Besides that the server was knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. It’s definitely worth a try at least once but I am not planning on returning with all of the options in Belltown and LQA. They are fairly new so things may improve as they get their footing.

My guy and I dropped by here to check this place out since it’s in our neighborhood. He’s seen places come and go because of delusional managers, poor concept and high rents in the Seattle Belltown area. This place, you can rest assured won’t last long. First we could not figure out their concept! Is it a Mexican restaurant, bar, or sushi joint? I still don’t know! They advertise a small sushi menu, their music tells a different story cause it definitely isn’t Mexican or Asian! One of the managers is co owner of Bell town pub. Which was or is another failing bar that has no real known concept. The menu at this place is really small and is not true to a Mexican place at all. Being from Houston Texas, I know real Mexican and Tex Mex food, and having been to Mexico, I can surely tell you that this place doesn’t even come close to being a Mexican restaurant. It was so dead in this place, on a Tuesday holiday week! Where as other places in the area is packed. The owner never greeted us and never asked us how we were doing. The entire time we were there, he stood at the bar talking and drinking with patrons. There’s no real uniforms for the staff. The food I ordered was a joke! The drunken beans was terrible, the rice was gummy and everything came out luke warm which tells me it’s not made to order food. Probably was all microwaved after being cooked a lot earlier in the day. There should be choices for the customers. The steak tacos was not good. It could’ve been charred or grilled, which it wasn’t. The corn tortillas were not toasted enough, the meat fell through and was soggy. The margaritas were very watery. The guacamole I tasted was better than the meal I ate. And the waitress was really nice and cool. It just sucks she works for a company that is not doing her justice. Good luck to the owners but I really think you need to get your concept together and get a great marketing strategy together to bring patrons into your restaurant.

We live in the neighborhood and want this place to succeed and we love Belltown Pub so please listen to constructive criticism. The ambiance was great, they music was solid and the staff was very friendly, BUT the food lacks the true essence & flair of true Mexican cuisine. It needs more TLC as in a true cocina. Carmelize your onions, add some salt, lemon, lime, pepper, saffron & cilantro. Simmer the food and let the flavor expand. Everything we ordered had zero flavor and was bland. The food should take your palate on a trip to Mexico but unfortunately this car stalled before it left Seattle. Everything else was awesome but you’ve got a little tweaking to do in the kitchen. Spice it up & we’ll be back! Buena suerte!

My new favorite restaurant in Belltown! I’ve been here numerous times and absolutely love it! The staff, owners and bartenders are amazing! Daniel the bartender goes above and beyond to provide the best service! The food is soooooo amazing! The best coastal Mexican fusion food I have ever had! I won’t tell you what to get as you should ask the experts! But it’s a must eat, see and taste! You are not a true Belltown citizen if you don’t visit this gem!

I came here for a late night drink and had a sangria. We had a very large party with just one waiter. I tried to put in another order for the drink twice within half an hour and nothing came my way(I don’t blame the waiter, it was a lot to handle and he was a genuinely nice guy). I’m slightly glad I didn’t get the drink because looking back at it, I wouldn’t want to pay the cocktail price again for what I had, maybe their happy hour price though. The drinks weren’t very spectacular but it also wasn’t bottom of the barrel either. The ambience was really nice, with an exception of their light colored walls. Some of the décor makes it seem like they’re going through an identity crisis of what they want the vibe to be. Overall I would like to explore their happy hour menu more if I were to come back.

Very very underwhelmed by this restaurant. Their corn elote was extremely dry(stopped eating half way) and the tacos were nothing special(especially considering they weren’t cheap). Service was extremely slow — only had one waiter for the entire restaurant. Took 1.5 hours for food/drinks for 8 people when the restaurant was completely empty. Also completely forgot our guacamole order. The drinks were good but weighed down by the overall experience. If this was a taco stand I would be happy, but it definitely isn’t. This place won’t last(as its location predecessor Sushi spot) unless a major chef/management change happens.

What a disappointment. I wanted to rate a 3 but had to choose a 2 because I won’t come back. I live in the neighborhood and was really looking forward to trying the food. The atmosphere is terrific and the staff was nice. The guac was very good. But the rice/beans were odd tasting. And the entrees were not very good. And the limes were bone dry, not ok for a Mexican restaurant.

We found this place randomly and I am so glad we did. This is such a great spot with amazing service and tons of great unique menu items. They have entire page with like 15+ different salsa alone, which is amazing. I got the lobster tacos, which were great and had a lot of lobster in them. While my boyfriends had the chupacabra, which was huge but he loved. We can’t wait to go back and try more on the meu.

Im a fan, but I do eagerly await this new Belltown spot to work out opening kinks and get up to full speed. — There are never enough customers in this place to support the rent, staff costs, etc compared to just about every other spot on 1st ave to the north and south of it. This worries me and I remember the previous restaurant having the same challenges. — They have a brilliant and amazing selection of salsas. This should be one of their up front features and differentiators. Seriously ask to see the salsa menu. I have been here three times and never even heard of it till the end of my meal the third time when my girlfriend asked for some hot sauce. — They are using three different menu offerings: Lunch, dinner, and late night /bar happy /hour. While the food has always been good, not a single time in there have I been able to order what I want.(Show up late night wanting food, can only order bar snacks, show up at lunch wanting oysters, turned down because its the lunch menu…) First time was late night — they left the full menus on the table as a tease, so when we told the wait staff what we wanted were let down and advised that we could only oder from the very small happy hour /bar menu. Left us non plussed as we needed a real dinner, not chips and cheese. After we last minute forgot about what the full menu teased us with and quickly picked 3 tapas items from the bar menu the server didn’t tell us that we were basically ordering 2 different chips and salsa type plates. Lets just stay nobody could stomach a tortilla chip for a few weeks after that. We felt he should have told us both items, while not being specific on the menu were basically chip dipping affairs.(normally mexican queso is served with warm flour tortillas. Serving chips is more of a tex mex style thing) So they have some great pieces, a beautiful space and some great potential. I want more of those 25 salsa types and to see what happens in a month when I will update this review. Drinks were always good if not a little sweet. My tab for two people is always in the $ 90 range but it never feels like a $ 90 experience.(2 craft cocktails and food for each person — craft cocktails alone are half of the tab) My girlfriend and I are both like cats caught in headlights when trying to decide what we think about the experience.

Nice, dimly lit, rustic atmosphere. Lots of candles. Really awesome wraparound bar. When I want Mexican food, this is the type of place I want to go. This restaurant is a much more upscale version of your typical Mexican restaurant, but fortunately the prices are not. We arrived during happy hour and tried the chorizo tacos. They tasted more like beef tacos and we didn’t really get the chorizo flavor. Still, they were pretty good. They were served on homemade corn tortillas(yum!) I also tried the tortilla soup which honestly left me a little disappointed. The broth was very watery and it was topped with loads of tortilla chip strips. However, it came with a side of cornbread muffins which were amazing, and yummy to dip in the broth! My husband got the carne asada which was a gigantic steak. He devoured the entire plate, guacamole, some type of potato wedges, tortillas and all. I also got the kale and quinoa salad which was *fantastic*! I want to go back just for that. It had chicken and little bits of apple and tasted amazing. Our server seemed slightly spacey and my husband said he smelled booze on his breath. Other than that, I think this was a really cool spot and would definitely like to take friends here. Plus it’s nice to have a change of pace as far as cuisine goes in the area.

After stopped by a very crowded Belltown Pub for dinner, we opted to explore other options in Belltown vs. waiting for a table. We’re so glad we did. Tr3s Cocina/Cantina was celebrating their grand opening. The menu looked tasty. They had open tables. We decided to give it a try. We started with the house margaritas — on the smaller side, but packed full of flavor(and booze) — and the chorizo fundido(aka queso). The dip was unbelievably tasty, and they give you a HUGE portion — perfect for a starter. Only downside? The dorito chips could’ve been left off and more tortilla chips could’ve come in their place. I ordered the wild mushroom enchiladas for dinner. I’m not sure I’ve had a better dish at a Mexican restaurant. The serving is large, the flavor is unbelievable, and the different take on the rice/beans makes it an interesting dish. My boyfriend ordered the rib eye tacos. I didn’t try them, but he couldn’t stop talking about how good they were! We’ll definitely be back to sample more of what’s on the menu. It’s a great new spot in Belltown, with a fun atmosphere, great service, and tasty food/drinks.

Great new Mexican restaurant in Belltown. I have only been once so far, and it was for happy hour, so I haven’t had a chance to get a good sampling of the menu. The food I had was very good and the happy hour menu in general had some good selections at a good price. I did examine the full dinner menu and it has many enticing options. The selections are familiar but more sophisticated than most of the nicer Mexican restaurants. It’s not the same typical Mexican food you can find anywhere in Seattle, but not so unusual to scare you away. I’m excited to try more. They did a really great job remodeling this space. The bar is the centerpiece of the restaurant and takes up the majority of the space, and it’s surrounded by mostly smaller tables which should work well in this neighborhood because it offers not only casual dining for parties of one or two either at the bar or at a table, but is also great for a nice dinner out with a group of friends and/or family. They serve food until 1am, so it’s also great for the late night crowd and is well suited for standing-room-only crowds. I’m giving it 4 stars because I think it has great potential and I had a good, though limited, experience. I’m hoping it will only get better. I think it has a lot of potential and I expect it to do well. I still think the word for meatballs is albóndigas and not albodingas(note the misplaced ‘n’) as it’s spelled on their menu, but they said I was wrong. Maybe it’s spelled differently in Mexico than what I remember in Spain, or maybe I need to refresh my Spanish.
