I was very disappointed. I could really justify some expenses at a steakhouse if the food and service really wowed me… but not here… First, the lady that greeted us was wearing stretchpants… the cheap kind that looked so old and dusty that it had no place in a supposed 4 star restaurant… untucked shirt etc… the coat check guy had a suit and tie… so c’mon! The steak was cooked just fine but we were told that it would cost $ 5 for some sort of butter topping or you would just get a plain salt and pepper steak… Really??? And it came in a pouring cup?!! Really $ 5! Even Ruth Chris doesn’t charge for topping the steak with butter! And Capital Grille and The Met have seasonings other than just salt and pepper… Totally Lame!!! Ordered the cauliflower mashed seasonal side and the creamed spinach. They were fine. We started with French onion soup and that was fine. The server asked us at the beginning of the order if we were going to order dessert because some took 30 min to cook. We told her yes and what we wanted. So, during the whole dining experience(2hrs!!), we had these long gaps of waiting. We figured we had lots of time to catch our show. At the 1 hr and 15 min mark we were asking about the dessert… wasn’t ready?! There was plenty of time. When it came, it was wonderful. The lava cake was cooked perfectly. We had to speed eat it because our show was 15 min from starting and we had to book it from there to the Benaroya. Did I mention the $ 13 dollar, 4 slices of tomato salad with about a Tablespoon of chopped onions on it? Yeah… could have overlooked that if everything else had been top notch. We went home disappointed and a few days later cooked a steak we bought from the store that was more outstanding than what we were served in this 4 star restaurant.

I love the steak here and the portions last for a couple of meals. Mashed potatoes were fantastic to share and the wine selection was excellent. Costs quite a bit.

I joined my friend here in celebration of her birthday and she was very excited for this dinner. This was my first visit. I was looking forward to trying Morton’s despite the mixed reviews — I am a bit of a fat kid at heart and love trying new restaurants. The complimentary bread reminded me of french onion hamburger buns. But I can’t complain — it was warm, fluffy, and… well… bread. I ordered sangria for a pre-dinner drink — this was refreshing and the serving size was generous. I had the mixed grill filet mignon with 3 grilled shrimp and scallops. They allowed me to sub the scallops for 2 stuffed shrimp which I appreciated. The filet mignon was cooked as requested. It was tender although slightly gristly around the edges. My shrimp was a bit overcooked and the stuffing slightly dry. I asked our waiter for a recommendation on red wine to accompany my filet mignon. He provided a less and more expensive option which was thoughtful. I opted for a glass of Hands of Time which accompanied the filet mignon well. Our table shared sides of brussel sprouts, horseradish mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. These tasted okay but overall I thought they were slightly bland. My friend ordered the french onion soup which I tried and this was pretty tasty. For dessert I had the chocolate ganache cake with caramel. There was no real caramel flavor to this but the cake was moist and definitely full of ganache-y goodness. To sum it up, we had an enjoyable evening. Our server was attentive and I appreciated his suggestions. But I would expect a higher quality of food for how much I spent that evening. I don’t mind dropping some dough on delicious food but it definitely has to be worth it and I felt like Morton’s really wasn’t. Just for comparison — I spent the same amount for a six course French dinner full of fresh, locally sourced, seasonal quality ingredients WITH wine pairing in Portland(it was DIVINE!). So yeah — I will not be back to Morton’s. If I were to choose a steak house for dinner in the future I’d like to try a local Seattle spot since I do prefer to support local businesses and I’d bet the quality will be ten times better.

Highly disappointed. Does not compare to other steak houses in the area at a similar price point. I arrived a 7:30 on Saturday night to a relatively empty restaurant. With 8 tables of approximately 25 tables occupied, I should have taken the hint. I ended up sending back my first cocktail and my steak. My filet was over cooked and dry. They corrected the issue by cooking another steak that was properly cooked. The entire time we were eating, there was screaming coming from the bar. Additionally, the patrons were dressed like they were at a burger joint. The gentleman who sat in front of me continuously exposed his bare butt crack. His best T-shirt didn’t quite cover his body. The total bill for my fiancé and I was $ 213.00. The experience didn’t live up to the cost.

Bf and I came to Morton’s to celebrate our anniversary. The first couple of bites of our medium rare steaks were really good but then it started getting tougher and chewier. and by the end my mouth was tired from chewing. I really enjoyed the horse radish mashed potatoes and the complimentary crème brûlée that we had for dessert. Overall, it was pretty pricey for 2 steaks and mashed potatoes. They took a picture for our celebration and included paper take home version of the menu. It was a little hard to understand our waiter when he was going over the menu but other than that, service was friendly and consistent. It was a good experience but I probably will not venture back to Morton’s.

I’ll just say right off the bat the steak is one of the best in the city. Had a ribeye bone in. Was perfect. The waiter was very knowledgeable and personable. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy, but feels like you’re in a basement(maybe because you are actually in a basement with no windows). The hostess was very sweet. That being said, the horseradish mashed potatoes tasted like I was eating instant mashed potatoes with no flavor whatsoever. And I paid $ 13 for the most bland mashed potatoes I’ve had in a long time. The asparagus was drenched in some horrible, overwhelming sour/sweet sauce, like a thick balsamic and teriyaki sauce or something. I love asparagus and I couldn’t even eat them all. And those were also $ 13. So I wasted $ 26 right off the bat for over priced, mediocre sides. The lobster bisque was $ 17 and came with the tiniest little piece of lobster like they were screwing with me or something. The bisque itself was forgettable, just a boring, bland soup. I guess Elliott’s on the water has the only good bisque in town. So that’s $ 43 or more of wasted money on food I could’ve gotten for cheaper and better at most other places in town. Now the kicker. I would give this place 3 stars, but as we were leaving I asked the host, an older balding man in the front, about their awesome little sleeping pig lanterns they have at all the tables and whether or not it is possible to buy one from somewhere and he started talking down to me and lecturing me on just how things were and being a stuck up superior jerk to me. I just paid $ 240 for a forgettable dinner and that is how I’m treated? The girl who was the hostess in the beginning was amazing. The guy at the end ruined the experience with his blindly pompous treatment. Learn how customer service works, man. Don’t think I have any reason to go back to Mortons. Looks like I’ll stick with the amazing Metropolitan Grill(although yes, Mortons really does know how to make a steak).

Morton’s steakhouse should close its Seattle location because the food quality is so terrible it’s not worthy of its reputation. I think if it is a $ 350+ meal it should be good. Our experience at Morton’s was we had poor service which I attribute to the kitchen and the lack of communication by our waitress. The Meal: We LOVE Brussel Sprouts and it’s almost impossible to mess them up but ours had the smell of a wet horse. I can’t imagine what seasoning was used to make that smell. But, I just think they were either old or of poor quality. My daughter ordered the Chicken Christopher which was overdone with too much garlic. She likes garlic but it was a little excessive. Then we ordered a sign of the truffle fries which came out to the table cold. They were OK but obviously they would’ve tasted much better if they had been fresh. We ordered the Cajun filet mignon and had requested to have it served«Oscar style»(with crab on top with asparagus and steak sauce). They completely forgot to do that and all we received was a blackened piece of steak. Normally I like blackened meats but in this case approximately 30% of the steak was untrimmed burn fat. I think they blacken their substandard steaks so that you can’t tell the poor quality of the meat. As someone who buys fillet mignon all the time, Costco sells higher quality fillet mignon that is probably 10 times better than what Morton’s serves. My son ordered the salmon which was a decent meal. He normally wouldn’t say anything even if it was bad but he ate his entire meal. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops which were cooked well but were not served very hot. The quality of the bacon was POOR. It was all fat and very little meat. It was nearly a completely«white» piece of bacon. We also ordered the beef taco appetizer. The taco lovers at the table thought that was a great appetizer and there is no complaints on that order. We ordered two glasses of wine of which took longer than 30 minutes to receive. My son ordered root beer which they do not serve and my daughter ordered Diet Coke. On the Diet Coke refill we kept getting regular Coke. I normally don’t write reviews this long and detailed but in this case the meal quality was so bad and the price was so high I feel compelled to everyone to not be fooled by the reputation because the quality at this restaurant is so substandard it should be closed. Morton’s should close it Seattle location! It is the worst steakhouse in the city. PERIOD.

If you’re looking to spend top $$ on a steak or even a meal– there are MUCH better places in Seattle. The meal: We got our steaks but then had to wait several more minutes for the sides to come out(about 10 min?). Three of us at the table ordered a filet mignon and only 1 of them was cooked properly, the other two were charred, over-cooked and dry. Im used to the server typically waiting for you to cut into your steak to make sure its cooked the way you want it(like they do at some other nice steak houses in Seattle) however they dont do that here I guess. We also ordered the brussels sprouts and Im wondering if I came in the same day as another Unilocaler because they totally did smell/taste like«wet horse»(and I typically love brussels sprouts!). The tomato salad was completely drenched in bleu cheese dressing and thats really all it was– four slices of tomato sliced with a ton of bleu cheese dressing for $ 13. We also ordered mashed potatoes, and those never came out, however, during the middle of the meal the server mentioned they sold out, which she could have mentioned earlier so that we could have ordered a different side. Pros: Im kind of reaching here but– the asparagus was fine, the scallops were pretty good, and they have a big wine selection. They also comped the potatoes obviously and the server seemed embarrassed and was apologetic.

Just stopped by here tonight with a couple of friends. We were told that they were only by reservation till 8pm and if we could something in the bar it was first come first serve. I find a table big enough for the three of us and all of the sudden the server tell us that table in the bar was reserved(not 5 minutes after telling me they were not) me and my friends were kind of wondering if may have been racially based. I definitely won’t be returning here.

I was visiting from Vancouver Canada. Myself and 2 colleagues were looking for a good steak. We came to Morton’s … We were told by the doormen and hostess that there was no seating in the dining area available until 9 pm except for the lounge whereas the section was no reservation. We were recommended to go have a look. We went to the lounge and found a spot large enough for our party to be told that it was ‘reserved.’ I sensed racial discrimination. Disappointed. Will not be returning. If you’re of any ethnic background or colour do not go.

Tried it this weekend. This restaurant is way overhyped. The steaks are nothing like the Met and the ambience isn’t even close. My Porterhouse was cooked medium well despite my request for rare. The waiters seem to ignore me all night. With service like this, I don’t know how this place can get so busy. I’m staying put at my local steakhouse next time.

I have been here twice now and love it! The service is always great and the food is amazing! Everything from the start to finish is what you would expect from a pricier steak house. I love their truffle matchstix! Those are the only fries I will take home for leftovers.

Not sure whats happening to this steakhouse as not roo many patrons last few times ive been here. Steaks dry last time even when ordered medium rare. mashed potatoes were fluffy and not swimming in butter so this was good. service was just ok but for the prices should have been better.

I generally love Morton’s for a traditional, old school steakhouse experience, but my meal at the 6th Ave location was completely underwhelming. The service was inattentive at best. We were seated without menus and had to flag down a manager when we hadn’t received them after several minutes. Later, when we asked to see a dessert menu, we were handed a cocktail menu by a waiter who then promptly disappeared. Between those bookends, the waiter was largely absent or stopped by in a manner reminiscent of someone nodding hello on their way to the men’s room. The food was equally meh. I ordered a steak with a crab cake on the side. The steak was under seasoned, and my meal was delivered without the crab cake. While the waiter delivered several minutes later after realizing its omission, it was cold and had several pieces of shell. My dinner companion had one of the seafood combos, and also found shells in his crab cake. We split the twice baked potato side and the hot sundae dessert as well, and both were fine without really being worth the money or calories. Overall, it was an unsatisfying dining experience. The food and service were generally on par with an Applebee’s or the like, which is obviously disappointing when you’ve paid $ 200+ for two people to dine. I won’t be back to the Seattle location.

The atmosphere of a sophisticated place with service to die for! We celebrate everything here and I cannot say enough good things about this place. Robert(who is leaving soon) is just part of a superior and downright incredible service team. The food… Is amazing! Make sure you get the tuna tower and the lobster bisque to start! The jumbo shrimp are delicious too and come out in dry ice. Everything has such an awesome presentation! The two pound lobster was delicious, fresh and still warm on my plate. The filet is soft and has amazing flavor(this is so hard to accomplish with such A lean cut)! Hands down, this place has overall superior service and a wonderful atmosphere. Want to feel like royalty? Go have dinner at Mortons!

I think Morton’s gets a bad rap because people think it’s a place where old guys meet to light up their cigars and talk business… Mad Men clientele as you will. Or maybe it’s the fact that it’s a chain restaurant and Seattleites love their local steakhouses like Metropolitan Grill, El Gaucho, and Daniel’s Broiler. At any rate, Morton’s is okay. I’ve been here for happy hour. I’ve had the stuck up bartender. I’ve also had the fun loving bartender. I’ve been here for birthday dinners with colleagues. I’ve also been here for Seattle Restaurant Week with friends. The service has always been good. The food has also been bad. I guess it depends who’s cooking in the kitchen that day.

This was my second time at any Morton’s and we enjoyed it, though the décor/ambiance is a bit of a letdown next to Chicago. My boyfriend had the ribeye and it was perfect. I tried their seasonal deviled eggs with caviar and loved it. Strong good drinks, but don’t try the horseradish mashed potatoes no matter how much you love horseradish. Our young hipster server a little thin on personality but totally competent warned me. The bar is nice and their happy hour/pub menu quite good. A good place to get a drink after work. It was good but the décor really isn’t up to par. Clearly this hasn’t made a difference as there are hundreds of autographed pictures along the hallway wall. The bathroom needs an upgrade badly.

I’m a bit annoyed with them at this point! I have never had this happen with any restaurant. The previous review was sent in on 4⁄6. Today is 4⁄11 and I have 2 transactions posted onto my credit card account. On for $ 210.91(legit Charge) and one for $ 179.20 which I have no idea why it’s there. This is nonsense I did call and spoke to a manager and he called me back saying he didn’t see it our couldn’t find it. It is showing as pending so I’m expecting it to drop off but it hasn’t yet and it was 5 days ago! I don’t really have time to keep calling them about it and it just seem crazy this would happen at a high end EXPENSIVE place. No one deserves this after giving a place $ 210 on a dinner for two!

Been there, done that. Now I probably won’t do that again. If you’ve never been to Morton’s The Steakhouse then I would recommend that you do go. Let me warn you, they are very pricey and if you’ve never been to an upscale steakhouse before, be prepared to spend a few days pay. All of the dishes are ala carte however the good news is that they are large enough for two to three people to share. My wife and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary at Morton’s Seattle and we ordered the caesar salad, cajun rib eye, honey glazed salmon and asparagus. I ordered the steak medium rare and asked for more on the rare side. The steak came out medium. The cajun seasoning was very good and my wife said it was the best steak she’s ever eaten. She was also pretty tipsy from her margarita. It was dry aged and tender but still had that gritty feel to it that an over cooked steak has. We were told that the salmon would be just a bit rare in the very middle but it wasn’t and was actually a bit dry. The hollandaise sauce that accompanied the asparagus was just plain awful. It tasted like partially melted butter and was cold. I guess the allure to the place is the upscale name and atmosphere. There are photos down the hallways of a lot of different celebrities that have dined there and I’ve heard the name mentioned in songs too. I checked another site before making my reservation and found out that they charge a $ 30.00 corking fee should you order a bottle of wine. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was a true gentleman. He was very polite and took great care of us. I would go back just to have that type of service again. Overall, the food is over priced in my opinion and that’s based on my visit to Gibson’s in Chicago where I got better food for half the price. It’s definitely a good place to take someone of you’re looking to impress but as for me, this was most likely a once in a lifetime experience.

I like Morton’s. It seems to get a bum wrap by a few people. I’ve never had a bad experience. Food 4⁄5 French Onion Soup 5⁄5 Very flavorful and perfectly cooked onions. It has a great broth, this is one of my favorite french onion soups. Sides Potatoes Au Gratin 4⁄5 Very cheesy and creamy. The potatoes are cooked perfectly. The seasoning on them is also really good. Mac n Cheese 5⁄5 This is the best mac n cheese I’ve ever had at a steakhouse. So creamy! The noodles are cooked perfectly and the cheese is so good. Ribeye 4⁄5 Cooked medium rare. The meat was tender and flavorful. Their was a little more grissle then I like in a steak.
