Just OK. While the food was perhaps above par, the overall service wasn’t. Food — 4, Service — 2. Hence, the 3 stars. I read some really decent reviews, so I thought we’d give it a shot. It seemed the service staff just didn’t feel like serving us this particular day.

Campagne is one of my absolute favorite Seattle restaurants. I am a Francophile though, so perhaps that makes me a little biased. I also had a great mushroom stuffed chicken dish here on Valentine’s Day one year. Another thing I love about it is that the service and food are both«fancy» and befitting an upscale restaurant, and yet the dining room itself somehow takes on a cozy, comfortable feel. I think that’s often hard to pull off in upscale restaurants. I think it’s pretty reasonably priced, too, considering the portion sizes and qualilty of the food. This is a good place for a date or special occasion!

Outstanding. I can’t believe that I actually ordered a hamburger and I’m so glad that I did! It isn’t possible to make a better tasting hamburger than the Campagne Burger. One hell of an experience indeed. The service was absolutely top notch. Couldn’t have been better. If you are thinking about dinning here, do yourself a favor and just do it. Everything our group of four ate(and drank) was outstanding.

Had dinner at the bar earlier this week with the kick off of the new bar menu which is a selection of small plates for $ 9 — 14 with the exception off the Campagne burger at $ 33 as on the main dining room menu. We shared the burger, fried oysters, and an olive plate. Everything was executed very nicely and I can recommend them all. The burger was medium as opposed to medium rare and we substituted aioli fries for the tempura onion rings that come with it. Though I enjoyed the bar menu, I think I do prefer the normal menu. Choukroute was my favorite item on the regular menu was not on the current menu. The restaurant greeter said that the chef does like to mix up the menu…

I’d have rated this 5 stars but I want to save that for over the top. There are no half stars for a Unilocal rating. We’ve eaten here twice when we’ve stayed in Seattle and I have to say our meals were perfect. This time we ate the fois gras tourchon and I wasn’t sure about the preparatiion but it was good, my husband had tempura Fennel which was amazing — very different and delightful. We both had Moule’s and Frites and I can tell you that we will both crave their rendition for a long time. The server was very informative about the wine list and paired the best wine for us to our entrée and withing budget. We won’t miss this whe n wer are back in town next time. Our server was from Boston and was very attentive, knowledgeable and gave us just the right amount of attention

Great food. Awesome styling. But I HATE it when I walk into a restaurant and am greeted by a bitchy, eye rolling and snarky hostess. While I understand that a restaurant with this type of location must deal with frustrating idiot hayseed tourists, I don’t need a shitty attitude with my wonderful food. Seriously. Smile. Don’t be bitchy. It’s not your job to show me how upset you are to seat me.

We literally walked by Campagne on the way to Pike Marketplace. I watched as a chef broke down several Flinstone sized lobster tails. We walked past Campagne, thinking we were entirely too underdressed for the place. There were quite a few suit clad man and women sitting in there. However, we could NOT get those lobster tails out of our minds. So we went back. Between the 2 of us we had 2 apps, 2 entrees, a dessert and a few drinks. All told our bill was about $ 160 and quite frankly it was worth it. The stars of the meal was the Butter Poached Lobster tail my companion ordered and the Mussels I had. Dear god. The sauce my mussels were made it was sublime. Garlic, white wine, fennel and god knows what else. The mussels themselves were HUGE, bigger than anything I’ve ever experienced in California. Another star of the meal was the service. We sat in the ‘lounge’ section of the restaurant. The bartender came by and kept our glasses full. The hostess and at least 2 other waiters took care of us as well. So we had a total of 4 people taking care of us! I highly recommend this restaurant! Go there! Quickly!

This was recommended to us by some natives of Seattle, and it was wonderful! Typical French menu, with a twist. We got there earlier than our res by about 15 minutes; even tho’ there seemed to be open tables, we were asked to wait, but our waitress came over and asked if we’d like a drink while we waited(we opted to NOT sit at the bar) & she graciously brought out glasses of water for two of us! From the asparagus appetizer and the salads to the chicken to the seafood(mussels) and the meat, each appetizer and entrée was delicious & perfectly cooked to order. The crème brûlée was unusual, with a hint of lavender, and perfectly crunchy top. Our server was gracious, friendly(as was everyone we met in Seattle!). With drinks, 4 of us had an excellent meal & would revisit if in Seattle again!

I am not sure how I went the first 30 years of my life without good French food but the food gods have chosen to rectify that and I could not be happier. The most recent evidence of their good will was dinner at Campagne. Dinner there during the 3 for $ 30 is an absolute steal since normally things there are a bit pricy. First I will mention the customer service. Top notch. I had cut my finger earlier in the day and it was bleeding all over me, the tablecloth — it was an issue. I discreetly went up to one of the waiter’s and asked for a band-aid and he was waiting with two of them when I came out of the bathroom. That is impressive. But, then, oh, the food. My dining companion and I always like to get different course choices so we can try lots of tastes and I was not sorry at Campagne. Between the two of us we tried a potted rabbit with mustard and pickled vegetables, pork hock with haricot vert, lamb sausage with tomatoes and beans, a semolina pasta with mushroom and, then, for dessert, a boozy Baba Rum and a white chocolate crème brûlée. Every single dish was scrumptious and deliciously prepared. Gougeres and chocolates were also provided which, twist my arm, I willingly accepted. Does that not sound like one of the most delicious line-ups ever? Because it really, really was. We also got the $ 253-course wine-pairing which was excellent. The waiter was exceptionally helpful in guiding us to the right glass for each dish. This was fancy, white tablecloth dining with a lovely view of the Pike Place Market. This is a definitely older, nicely-dressed crowd but no complaints. I will definitely return for my next needed dose of exquisite French food. Again, twist my arm.

I want to throw this out there right away: this is a good restaurant and I’m a frugal(some may say cheap) person. I came for the 20 buck duck and it was a good meal. I had the fried duck egg with mushrooms(surprisingly my favorite out of the night given its simplicity) and the duck tongue and tenderloin over toast. The goat cheese cake had the texture of cheesecake and it was good. Our appetizer was country style pâté and it was good. To summarize, everything about the restaurant is all around good but not great. Considering this and also that our meal ended up being $ 43/person, it didn’t impress me enough to come back.

This place rocks for providing one of the most extensive menus on the 30⁄30 list this year. I was really skeptical about coming here since I had experienced an unpleasant meal at Café Campagne in the past. We had 4 people in our party so we shared 4 different appetizers. They were all so delicious. I had the duck leg confit for entrée and it was melt in your mouth delicious. We also had the wine flight and they actually gave us 3 full sized glasses… not like other wine flights at other resto where they only fill it to the wine tasting level on the glass. The dessert was freaking AWESOME! Crème brûlée, chocolate mousse were all perfect but the most outstanding was the chevre(goat cheese) cheesecake. I was skeptical but it had good texture, an interesting and distinctively(in a good way) flavor. Better than Junior’s Cheesecake in NYC, and much much better than the Cheesecake Factory. I’d go back for the cheese cake alone. Oh, and did I mentioned that you can choose almost any 3 items from the restaurant’s regular menu when you come here for 30⁄30? They had to exclude the really expensive stuff like steak of course. Thanks for not skimping the portions and not treating your 30⁄30 customers like second class citizens Campagne! I would gladly go back to your restaurant for a special dinner even without the 30⁄30 deal.

Went here for a two year anniversary. I soooooo wanted to love this place. I love French food and have been looking forward to going here for a long time. I had heard many good things from friends but it just didn’t live up to the hype. Even though we had made reservations(and there was space in the main dining area) we got sat in the bar area which was kinda disappointing. I’m not sure if our server was the bartender or not because he seemed to be doing both. The service wasn’t rude but really wasn’t helpful either. On one occasion the waiter was stepping on my foot and I don’t think he even noticed. I asked him about the lamb shoulder but he failed to tell be it was ground. The worst was when we ordered the desert. My Girlfriend LOVES a good crème brule and I was looking forward to this being one of the better ones. The problem was that the sugar was burnt to the point where it was black and had turned bitter. I asked the waiter about it and he said«well Crem Brule means Burnt Cream in French» …he didn’t offer to make another and by this time I was over it so we removed the over burnt bitter sugar and ate what was left. The starters were pretty good. My girlfriend had a squash soup and I had a duck tourien/pâté both pretty good. Maybe we got them on an off nite, or maybe because of the 30for30 thing going on they were just not giving it their all. I don’t know but it’ll be awhile before I try it out again.

This place was fantastic. I used OpenTable to place a reservation the same day for my wife’s birthday(sounds last minute I know, I was tolling over where to take her for some time — honest). We got the best table in the house looking over Pike’s Market and the sound. For Hors d’ Oeuvre we had Tartare de boeuf and Escargots de Bourgogne. Both were nice sized portions and were fantastic. For Les Entrées we had the duck confit and an amazing steak. Both items were cooked to perfection. The topped it off with a complimentary dessert for the mrs. birthday(I had put a note in the OpenTable reservation — they never mentioned anything about it the whole night, which I liked). Campagne was a perfect night out for us.

My girlfriend and I went for the Dine Around Seattle deal. We had a bit of a wait when we walked in, but it wasn’t a very long wait. They took our coats and sat us at a table against the wall. Our waiter was a very sweet older man, who told us about how the French eat bread(on the table of course, who needs plates?) and he surprised us with yummy little cheese pastries! Starter: Escargots de Bourgogne = Délicieux! It was my very first time ever, eating snails! I am so glad that it was not a bad experience. Entrée: Saucisson aux Champignons Sauvages = Magnifique! The sausages were tasty and the Pomme Aligot was grrreat! Dessert: Hazelnut Crème Brûlée with Breton Sablé Cookie = Super! A special-tasting crème brûlée to end a special dinner in my heart. I love this place.

I’ve given Campagne another chance, and I’m pleased to say that it was a great experience from start to finish. I made reservations well in advance, and when my friend and I showed up, we were greeted by both a passing waiter and the hostess within the first minute of walking in the door. The hostess seated us in a beautiful courtyard outside the front door, right next to a trickling fountain which masked most of the ambient noise coming from the street. Our waiter was properly attentive without being overbearing, friendly and personable. Our water glasses were kept filled. My friend ordered off the prix fixe menu(appetizer & entrée for $ 30) — she felt the appetizer of pickled vegetables and fish was a little oily, but very much enjoyed her chicken dumpling entrée with a pea purée. I ordered the Campagne Steak, which came with a broiled marrow bone and frites. I probably should have ordered it rare(I waffle between a preference for rare and medium rare, but erred on the side of medium this time) but the steak was still delicious and tender with a lightly pink center. Crispy frites were hot and salty and great when dipped in the sauce surrounding my steak. :) The marrow bone(curiously not served with a marrow spoon, but believe me, I managed anyway!) was simply amazing… I tried spreading it on a leftover piece of bread but found that it was best on its own, melting in the mouth with an amazing flavor. The waiter was entertainingly gleeful to see me, as he said, «actually eating the marrow». I’m astounded that people would skip it, but diff’rent strokes for diff’rent folks, I guess. Even though it may mean only having salads for the following week, I’d eat it any time! We both ordered dessert, as well — crème brûlée for my friend and a strawberry tart with grand marnier custard and praline chantilly for me – lovely ends to our . After the bad experience we had at Campagne on our first visit, I was contacted by the manager, who apologized and asked if I would consider trying them again. In the interest of full disclosure, he did provide some incentive, but I went to our reservations with fairly low expectations. I also made the reservations under a different name than what is used here on my Unilocal profile or in my email, so I don’t feel there is any way that the staff could have been«waiting» for me to give me special treatment in return for a better review. My friend and I left the restaurant feeling very good about our dinner, and both agree that we’d next like to try Café Campagne sometime, to see how the experience differs.

I read about a wine tasting going on at Campagne on a sunny Friday afternoon. We have never been so we were looking forward to experiencing the restaurant in a laid back setting. We arrived and the courtyard was bustling with yuppies. Fine, that was to be expected. We paid $ 30(for two people) at the entrance and was given a 3oz pour from the get-go. Little did we know that we would have to purchase each«taste.» Doesn’t that just go against the concept of a wine tasting? Get a wee taste of wine then purchase a full glass if you liked it? We thought the $ 30 was an entrance fee and that we could actually *taste* all the wines, not purchase a 3oz pour(which is MUCH too much) that priced from $ 5-$ 15EACH. Apparently, they gouged us at the front door with the most expensive pour which wasn’t even listed on the tasting menu. When we came upon this gruesome realization, my husband asked for a sip of a pinot noir rose before purchasing the full«taste». The waiter gave us a dumbfounded look saying that«well…it’s a 3oz pour». Yes, a 3 oz pour at $ 9 a glass. We begrudgingly purchased the full tasting portion and was, of course, incredibly disappointed. If we were given a teaspoon of the wine to taste, we would have NEVER shelled out money for it. I tried to make up for this disastrous ripoff by enjoying their canapes. The warm goat cheese-stuffed tomatoes were pretty tasty. The pâté sandwiches with pickled red onions was very tasty(mostly due to my hunger) but was reminiscent of haute spam. The fried leeks tasted like tempura onions and the chickpea pancakes were just baffling… The last thing I ate was a lacerating, crunchy crostini spread with a bitter tapenade. It was very appropriate to this event. After spending nearly $ 60 on four«tastes» of subpar wine, we left with a sour taste in our mouths and souls. UPDATE: I received a couple messages from the manager. They just don’t get it is all I can say. My main concern was that the rules weren’t up front. At least have the person taking your money go over the rules or ask if you know what’s going on. Apparently the rules were supposed to be posted up front but I nor my companion saw them(if they even existed), hence my complaint. I had even checked their website beforehand and couldn’t find anything. Once I was given the official name of the event(in the manager’s response), I found a Google search result that led to an obscure blog posting(inaccessible from their official restaurant website) that was four paragraphs long going on and on and on and on about rose wine, then tacking on a quick blurb about the event at the end of the post with barely useful information. The manager kept writing how everyone *else* seemed to like it and everyone *else* seemed to understand the esoteric rules of their microcosm(i.e. sorry you’re so stupid and not one of us). Well, good for them. I hope they try to reach out to the rest of the money-carrying world when their devout followers die out. I’m sure 6⁄7 will appreciate my patronage for the third time this year.

Maybe not the best person to review because French food is not my favorite by far. But having said that, I’ve eaten here on multiple occasions for large office holiday gatherings and the welcome, service, and attention we always received was nothing short of impressive. The owner would always come make a speech to us, tell us how happy he was that we returned, how much he liked our group, and how he hoped we would relax and enjoy our evening. Absolutely professional. I’ve always been happy with my menu selections(I always choose the least-French thing though) and the desserts … well I do like me some French desserts and theirs are lovely. Excellent service. I like the romantic atmosphere and that the tables aren’t on top of each other. Nice wine selection, too. As for Happy Hour or … L’heure with Allure … it’s Monday — Friday 5 — 7 p.m. with $ 2 off all specialty cocktails. Country-style pork and chicken liver pâté on gougère 1. Fried tempura style French green beans with Niçoise olive vinaigrette 7. Potted pork and duck with mustard, cornichons, and sel gris 5. Pommes frites served with aïoli 3. A selection of domestic and imported cheeses served with fruit confiture 12.

Expensive and not that great. I started with the beef carpaccio which was pretty tasty but would have been better if they had served it with some wafers of fresh parmesan. My companion had some platter with assorted types of cold meat(including some shredded rabbit that had the consistency of canned tuna). It was ok. For our main courses, I ordered halibut like a true tourist while my friend had the steak. The fish was cooked perfectly but it was not so amazing that I could remember the taste a day later. My friend’s steak was ok but definitely cooked beyond the medium rare he specified. The big fat duck fat fries were definitely the best part of the dish. We split 2 desserts, I had some orange crème brûlée type of dish and my friend had some chocolate soufflé type of thing. They were both good, but also quite forgettable. Great service but I think that the place is a little on the stuffy side.

Microsoft prime 2007 – 2008 Ambience: 4 Food: 3 Value: 3 Went there for dinner. Had the Duck(okay), Scallops(good), Squab(okay), Fish(good). The food was okay but not very memorable. The meats were gamey and not seasoned heavily: on the rare side. I guess I’m not a fan of rare food. The seafood was good, but not unique in anyway. The portions were pretty small. Desert: crme brulee and chocolate cake with cognac ice cream. It was okay but not special. All in all, decent but not great: pretty pricey, not really worth the price.
