This is only a review on their epi bread(which is the only thing I had) and their service. Their service was fantastic: the person helping me get the bread was super nice and extremely friendly. The price was also decent, since I think it was around $ 3-ish dollars for the epi bread(It’s the bread that kinda looks like leaves, but it’s still a baguette). Maybe I got the bread and it was setting outside for too long? I don’t know, but the bread just tasted like any old french baguette bread that you could get from Safeway, Trader Joe’s, any ordinary supermarket. There wasn’t anything special about it, and I would say that the french baguettes at Safeway were probably better. It wasn’t as flaky as I was hoping and the flavors fell flat. It just tasted meh: nothing special. I think I might come back and try their other pastries, which look good(and since their service was great), but I would recommend staying clear from the epi bread, and maybe trying what other Unilocalers have been recommending(they seem to have had a much more positive experience with the pastries).

Great place for some breakfast on Pike Place. It is one of the few spots that actually has ample seating. The butter croissants are flaky, soft, and perfectly baked. The cappuccinos and lattes are acceptable. The vanilla, coffee, chocolate, and raspberry, macarons were delicious; though I don’t recommend the pistachio macaron. Next time I will definitely try their eclairs.

I haven’t had pastries this good in America. It hasn’t been since I was in Europe that I’ve enjoyed croissants are flaky and perfectly baked or baguettes with such perfect crunch and softness. The coffee is pretty decent as well, but not their shining star. You can’t go wrong with the pastries here. You might want to run that extra few miles just to justify getting more than one pastry here. This place is a must visit, despite being in the thick of tourist traps.

I wanted to visit this place, especially since I was already planning on being in Pike’s Place Market. I’m use to Asian and Mexican pastries, so French is a different experience for me all together. They had a wide selection of pastries and their employees are really helpful with assisting you with any questions you may have, and there is going to be a good chance you’ll have questions if you haven’t been here or to a French bakery before. I went pretty plain and got a chocolatier and a brioche bun. The chocolatier was really good with the texture of a croissant with powered sugar and almonds on top with a chocolate filling. I enjoyed that white a bit. The brioche bun is pretty plain to me if you don’t eat it with anything, and I ate it plain. I would have gotten some macarons cause they did look delicious, but i was feeling pretty full, but I recommend getting some since they looked so good. Overall, a great place to get a midday snack and even breakfast with their great selection of pastures and snacks.

The pear tart was excellent. Crust was on point and the tart was nicely chilled($ 3.91). Minus one star because some of the workers have lost their nice. I also wanted to order a pain aux résins but I saw a fly on it…

The aroma from Le Panier smelled so good when we walked by, we had to stop and get something, anything. Our group of four decided to share 6 macarons and a almond chocolate croissant. We all gave the bakery two thumbs up. Everything tasted so good we finished all. The only thing that keep this bakery from getting 5 stars was lack of AC. It was so hot in there, we actually went outside which was cooler to finish eating standing on the sidewalk.

This review is strictly for their PISTACHIOECLAIR. This was THE best éclair I have ever had in U.S.(I haven’t had one in France). The eclairs that I have tried in NYC doesn’t even come close to this one! It’s light, fluffy on the outside, nice cold and creamy on the inside. Moist and delicious all around. The pistachio cream was not too sweet but had enough pistachio taste with every bite. I cannot stop thinking about it! I got to the bakery a little before 4 pm and lots of baked goods were already sold. I can’t wait to come back and try all the other things this bakery has to offer. The line was still long even near closing time. I waited about 15 minutes, starting at the entrance. I also tried the almond pastry. It was good but didn’t stand out like the éclair did. I still rave about the eclairs here to my friends every time Seattle comes up in our conversations. I really can’t wait to come back and enjoy another one!

Divide and Conquer. If traveling with friends than one person should stand in line at Piroshky Piroshky and one person could wait at Le Panier. Double the bounty in half the time. Better yet, if one line is too long, then you’ve got snacks while waiting.

Love their macaroons!!! Just about perfect. The caramel latte was very good. My family even randomly tried a roast beef sandwich/sub and raved about the bread. Can’t go wrong here.

Came here to try anything and everything with my husband today. Gotta say I LOVED it. We got a raspberry croissant thingy, some macaroons, a potato bacon quiche thing, and a long thing deli sandwich. All of it was AMAZING. Especially the raspberry croissant thing. I wish I could have taken more photos but it was pretty crowded inside. The inside was nice though! Clean and cute and the customer service was good. Only bummer; we were getting so much stuff that the woman who was getting our food was holding three small bags and looked at us and said«do you want a bag with handles?» I said«yeah sure» because we honestly weren’t gonna be able to hold a ton of tiny bags. Later I look at the receipt and they charged us for the hand bag… Not too upset, because it was only 5¢. But still, just wish they would tell people that or at least inform them that it costs extra per each bag.

Since it is across the street from Pike place market the line is always extremely long – but its worth it! The pistaschio éclair was simply perfect! A more petit éclair, creamy filling, and strong flavor. The rhubarb pie had very good crust and was not overly sweet – very good.

You have to visit this spot when in Pike Place– especially if you love baked goodies! The line can get pretty long but it is worth the wait! I came in for some macarons and croissants which were heavenly. Their croissants are super flaky aka perfect. They have so many different types of tasty macarons. I was on my way to a friend’s birthday dinner so I even boxed up a few in a super cute box! We arrived there about half an hour before they closed so the line was super short but they(of course) ran out of more than half of their goodies. I will return for sure!

Get the bread with brie. It’s simply just a slab of brie within a slab of bread. But the catch is that there is somehow little to no diminishing return on every bite. The bread is so good with the brie that it blows my mind. It’s sooooooo good! :D

I really like this shop, but the best part about it are the macarons and yes, it’s spelled macarons and not macaroons. Macaroons are those coconut cookies, two totally different things. I only got a half dozen but I really wished I got a dozen instead. The shop is really cute, lots of seating options compared to the other bakeries nearby, lots of french pastries to choose from, and yes, the macarons are perfectly made, like in France. It’s hollow and crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, perfection. You can tell they weren’t refrigerated for days when it becomes completely dense. Customer service was great, line went quick, and everything is fresh. I love it, we need a shop like this in San Diego, because I feel like a lot of the french pastry shops in San Diego aren’t all that fresh like this. I will stop in every time I’m in Seattle now.

Le Panier is a very cute French bakery near Pike Place Market. They have it all, from sweets to savory. They also serve Caffé Umbria for all of their coffee and espresso drinks. I visited this location during the morning rush, but honestly, it’ll be a rush through out the day because they are located at Pike Place Market. But the service is quick, so you’ll be in and out in a jiffy. I would recommend checking out their website to see what they offer because they have seasonal items and it’ll help you decide quicker once you’re there. We ordered their Dinde [$ 7.30], Jambon Fromage [$ 7.30], Épinard [$ 4.25], Joséphine [$ 4.50], and another pastry that I can’t remember! I had the Dinde and Joséphine. The Dinde was made with their crusty baguette and it comes with turkey, lettuce, tomato and fresh pesto. I am a baguette fan and I definitely enjoyed Le Panier’s baguette. You can hear a nice crunch when you bite into it. The Dinde is a very simple sandwich but the fresh pesto spread made it different. The sandwich is pretty big, I only ate half of it for breakfast and the other half for lunch. Even after several hours of being in my book bag, it was still pretty good. Now the Joséphine, I was slightly disappointed with it. I was expecting a little bit more. The Joséphine consisted of fresh strawberries and crème in a choux shell. I was expecting something soft and smooth and melts in your mouth instantly kind of thing. Overall, I still enjoyed my experience at Le Panier. Maybe I’ll give Joséphine another chance.

La Panier is a French bakery near the Pike Public Market. If you’re a fan of flaky croissants, layered Napoleons, and all things baked, this is your place. It’s awesome… as long as you find a seat. My Overall Rating — 4 ½ Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — I love the Pike Public Market and all the shops that line Pike St. You’ll find La Panier here. It’s a charming but very small shop. The hardwood floors will lead you up to their display counter when the challenge of choosing the right pastry begins. But if it’s the weekend, chances are there will be limited or no seating. La Panier’s only flaw is that it’s so small it’s hard to grab a seat when busy. ½ Star. Service — The staff does a great job moving the line. We lined up and when it was our turn we got to take our time to make our selections. Now, you can choose to take it to go or you’ll get plates. If it’s busy I suggest you take it go. We waited for seats to open up but gave up after a few minutes. 1 Star. Food — I love bakeries, especially French bakeries that know how to make killer croissants. La Panier meets and exceeds these requirements. We ordered a number of items, but the best thing I ate was the Napoleon. This sweet pastry was more like an expertly layered piece of delicious art. Each layer held the perfect amount of sweet cream. We also took several sandwiches to go to snack on. I recommend the classic Jambon-Fromage(ham & cheese) and Roast Beef. While the they’re tasty, make no mistake the bread is the star here. Remember, if the bakery is full you should take it to go. 2 Stars. Will I Return? — Yes. In fact, we made several visits to La Panier during our stay in Seattle. Whether it was to grab a morning pastry with coffee or baguettes on the go, La Panier is a must visit. 1 Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five-star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

Always busy… best to go mid morning after the rush but try and make it before lunch! Yeah it’s that bad! Pastries are amazing and almost always fresh! I miss this place but not the traffic! Parking…oh the parking. There’s no easy way to put this. If you’re going to come here just plan on parking where ever you can find it and walking. Make sure to set a timer on your parking meter because parking enforcement is brutal, they don’t mess around. There’s always a crowd and it’s always busy as I mentioned previously. Plan on waiting at least 5 min before you actually reach the counter. After all the negatives have been pointed out this place is still a must try! The goodies are always fresh and the coffee is really good! The ambiance is nice if you’re able to grab a seat and actually enjoy it. otherwise it’s not too far from one of the very 1st Starbucks just a few steps down but that too is always CRAZY busy…

The pistachio pastry is a must try. What I want to write this review about was the almond criassiont. Almond criassant is a must try, I’ve had these before at every pastry place I go to but this was toasty on surface, then chewy and doey in the inside. It had a creamy custard inside but it was not over filled so the balance of that was just right. It was the perfect stuffed criassant. It was so good I forgot to take a picture. Service was fast, easy, and very knowledgeable.

FOOD — Almond Croissant: flaky croissant with toasted almond filling, topped with almond slivers and powdered sugar. I liked that the filling wasn’t too sweet. 4⁄5 — Chocolate Croissant: flaky croissant with chocolate chips. It could have had more chocolate chips. I think there were less than 8 pieces. 3.5÷5 — Palmier: flaky puff pastry with brushed with a sweet glaze. Good. It reminds me pastry puffs I buy at Asian supermarkets. 4⁄5 SERVICE Fast and fair. Don’t let the long line intimidate you. It moves quickly. 4⁄5 FINALTHOUGHTS Good pastries. I would come back to try other things.

First of all, when you walk into this place you are met with the most amazing smell of baking bread. Before you even see the display case, you know you are in for something good, just based on that yummy smell. I ordered macarons, the chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and passion fruit. Oh wow. I actually made«mmnnnnnmmm» sounds while eating them. They were my ideal macaron. Texture was glorious. Flavor was perfect. Not overpowering, just the right amount. The passion fruit was my favorite. I will happily return to sample more of their menu.

Delicious French pastry to wake up my morning! I’m addicted to croissants so this was an easy choice for Saturday breakfast as well as my to go breakfast for my Monday morning before my flight. On Saturday, we ended up ordering the almond croissant, chocolate croissant and ham & cheese croissant to share. I wasn’t too impressed with the almond and chocolate croissant due to Houston having a really great ones here(Common Bond, if y’all ever find yourself here), however croissant wise they were both nice, buttery, and flakey. I did fall in love with the savory croissant, which is what made me come back Monday. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious, however not my favorite from this bakery. On Monday, I ordered the spinach croissant and the potato, bacon, egg croissant. The potato, bacon, egg wins hands down! Wonderful flavor that just worked with the croissant outside layer. I also loved that the filling was pretty generously proportioned with the bread for all the savory croissants. Besides the croissants and coffee, I would definitely recommend trying some of the macarons. I can be a macaron snob, and the macarons here are delicious. The shells have just the right amount of crisp/chew while the filling is very soft and not overly sweet. They also $ 2 each which is actually a little cheaper than other places. The lines in the morning are shorter than during peak time in the afternoon but it moves pretty quick. Just hope you don’t have someone that takes forever deciding on what they want. Lots of seating as well compared to some of the other places in Pike Place.

The warm aroma that overflows this bakery as well as the hearts of pastry enthusiasts everywhere cannot be succumbed to simplicity. You just can’t help but be reluctantly and invitingly pulled in with the glorious sweet smelling scent of freshly baked bread and flakey croissants! Le Panier is one of my favorite French bakeries in Downtown Seattle. There is always a line upon walking into Le Panier but the wait is more than endurable for the impending satisfaction from the delicious pastries! The parking as well can be a bit of a stretch so if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to scour for parking, I’d recommend paying s visit on a different day. The folks there were incredibly welcoming as well; they were patient when my indecisiveness got in the way of picking pastries. Le Panier holds a special place in my heart for me. During my younger years, my grandpa would always buy their pastries for us to share together! I would highly recommend their Palmier and Chocolate Croissants! They are fluffy as they are delicious. The coffee served here is just as lovely. I treated myself to a latte and it definitely satisfied my caffeine intake for the day! If you happen to be in Pike Place, make a stop here! You’ll find yourself buying a pastry or two… Or ten. Don’t feel bad about it when you do; I sure didn’t.

The roommate and I made a quick stop around Pike Place to grab macarons before heading to the airport. It was Wednesday, January 20th, a little after 1:45pm. Flavors: $ 2 each *Pistache *Orange *Caramel *Chocolat *Framboise(raspberry) *Passion *Café *Vanille *Citron *Noisette(hazelnut) I ended up getting 4 flavors: orange, framboise, passion and citron. The macarons were soft in the center. The outer shells had a nice chew. My favorite flavor was the raspberry. Subtle flavor and not overly sweet. Cute café. It’s a good size with plenty of seating. If I wasn’t on my way to the airport, I may have sat down for a coffee.

We enjoy our walk to Pike Place Public Market on the weekends and often buy a croissant and coffee at Le Panier. However. If Besalu were within walking distance of Le Panier, I would most likely never set foot inside this bakery. The croissants here are good but they are mass-produced without the same care or attention given by the bakers at Besalu. One only need glance at the inconsistent sizing of the macarons* in the case. That Le Panier is able to produce baked goods with such amazing consistency, I have to wonder if the croissants are not shipped in frozen. It always pains me to watch the staff behind the counter: when they are not stepping over each other trying to help people, they go rogue and forget that it’s better, easier, to work together. And they shouldn’t be afraid to speak against people jumping the queue. As I wait in line, patiently, for my turn at the counter, I’ve come to dread certain staff members working coffee service who are just as unorganized as their bakery counterparts. Ordering two drip coffees to go should be an easy task to accomplish, yet the coffee bar staff can never quite get themselves organized well enough to expedite drink orders. When I’ve seen a manager(owner?) stroll through without assisting counter staff, I have to wonder if the place couldn’t benefit from one of those reality shows that snap a restaurant into shape. The staff are working hard when really they should be working smarter. *Gentle Unilocalers: a macaron and a macaroon are not the same.
