Mid-​century Modern Mausoleum.
This place is amazing. I call it «The Mausoleum» because of the first time I ventured in there. It was a time just after the rapid start of gentrification of Ballard, as the Ballard Landmark (assisted living) was opening up down the block. I realized after walking through the well-​curated and themed living rooms, showcasing some of the best and worst of mid-​20^th century design, that these living rooms and tchotchke filled cabinets could very well be the former living rooms of the now warehoused elders just down the block.
I caught sight of trinkets from the 1964 New York World’s Fair, just like my grandparents’ had in their living room.
The awe turned to sadness, as I realized this was a shop filled with things left behind by over-​burdened children, or seniors unable to take these souvenirs with them to their smaller efficiencies. These are what has been left behind for the new, younger Ballard residents to purchase and fill their luxury apartments.
The staff is largely available to help, but not intrusive. The store is pretty well organized, and overall, if you come in looking for something specific, I find things are fairly easy to find.
This is one part consignment, one part curiosity shop. When in Ballard, this is definitely a place to come in and browse, and maybe leave with a few mementos of days gone by.

I came in today with a budget of 3k and an eye on that massive grey reclining sectional. I walked out with the sectional, a beautiful (and inexpensive) bed frame, $ 700 left and a smile. Aaron answered all my questions and made it a great experience. Keep up the great work!

So grateful to have this place in Ballard. I was going to take my son to Ikea for a new dresser, but of course loathed the idea of driving to Renton and then cursing (and drinking) my way through putting something together. I stopped in here and was so happy to find an affordable and pre-​assembled solution right in my own backyard. Folks are friendly and helpful, selection is surprisingly large. Stop in! They have both new and used pieces. Fantastic!

Love. This. Place. Rare finds and you can haggle if you want! I’d say make a day of it with the Farmer’s Market right outside. Great staff and service!

How am I just finding out about this gem of a store??? I’ve been in four times now and have been wowed with the friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. They also have an amazing selection of interesting and one of a kind pieces that seems to be different each time I visit the store. The only thing I hate about this place is that I want to buy everything! This will now be my go to store for home furnishings. Cheers to Ballard Consignment and it’s amazing staff.

— I’ve consigned ten of thousands of dollars through them as a Consigner and have always been impressed. They are straight shooters, who provide a fair deal and have checks waiting for you when the money has been promised.

Bought a nice tanker desk and desk chair here. Store worker immediately offered me a discount more than large enough to cover the cost to have the stuff delivered. Handed me off to nice delivery guy who was on time and didn’t bang any walls!
The store seems to have good turnover of merchandise, reasonable prices and some pretty good stuff. Way better than the average resale shop. And it’s huge.

I love Ballard Consignment! I’ve been strolling around their store for the past couple of years but recently, I finally made my first purchase. It was a mid-​century modern style orange couch that folds down into a bed — perfect for our studio but also convenient for any overnight guests. I love how affordable yet stylish it is. Not only do they consign, but they also sell some new furniture as well. Every time I walk in I see something that I want to bring home that is within my budget. Everyone there has always been very friendly and helpful but also are great about giving me space to browse. Oh, and friendly dogs are welcome, which is always a plus in my book! I recently moved so I plan on decorating my place and maybe adding some small pieces here an there once I get settled in. They have everything from clothing to art to all types of furniture you could need and want. Whenever I need something for the house, my first stop is always Ballard Consignment!

It’s written on the gates of Hell to abandon all hope ye who enters. Well, to some degree, Dante was talking about Ballard Consignment store — in the best way possible.
With an eclectic, gorgeous and fairly priced collection, I found myself going from room to room in this massive building saying, «I’d buy that.» If you’re prone to temptation, stay away — far away.
I purchased a few side tables and an armchair after receiving a ton of helpful suggestions from the staff. Knowledgable beyond belief, they navigated the store’s three floors with ease and an almost surreal understanding of what item was where (a tall task).
If you need a sofa, a desk lamp, that funky stop light décor, or a Seattle street sign, make a pit stop at this consignment store. Make a reasonable offer and you’ll be walking out with far more than you bargained for.

A Tupperware pitcher from the 70’s. A mid century modern sofa sectional. Z chairs. Teak, walnut, cherry wood — something for everyone!
And the most helpful, down-​to-​earth staff ever. I found the couch of my dreams. Scored a bargain. I couldn’t leave with it that day — no problem. I needed help loading in the truck — again, no problem. They are open on Sunday.

Went here with my friend to pick out some furniture for her new apartment. It’s a big building with a wide selection of items, lots I didn’t care for, but some very nice vintage pieces. They also have a small selection of clothing, which was interesting to check out. I didn’t see anything I had to have, but I would stop by again if I were in the area.

Love this store! It may not look like much from the outside but it has so much cool stuff to offer. They have it all… furniture, clothes, vintage, knickknacks, art + so much more. And so well presented and prices are well marked. Very good quality items but at reasonable prices.
Staff are friendly and efficient and consigning with them is very easy. Normally you book your appointment about a month in advance as they have lots of consigners. Very easy to deal with and low key when going through your items.
So glad this store is here… I don’t live in Ballard, but it’s worth a drive there and I’m never disappointed.

Came here on a lazy rainy Sunday afternoon just because I happen to be in the area. I love this place, so many different styles and eras of furniture. A nice collection. Their prices are high for my budget but I enjoy wandering and getting Ideas for decorating. Some high quality vintage pieces and newer ones as well all intermixed. Check it out definitely a great find I recommend you visit for sure.

Love this place! Huge, spacious, well laid out with more selection than you can find in multiple stores combined, AND actually friendly and helpful but not pushy staff!
We did our purchase in two trips, during the first a really helpful lady (sorry forgot her name) asked us what we were looking for and helped us walk through only the relevant inventory fast, it really saved us time. We had to rush out so we tagged the pieces we liked on hold. We returned later that evening and finished our purchase with Erin (Aaron?) who was super helpful, friendly and patient even though we were cutting it really close to closing hour.
We went through quite a few furniture and consignment stores before we stumbled upon this gem. Ended up buying our entire living room worth of furniture from here exactly as they had on display. Unlike most consignment stores which are space confined and haphazardly over stuffed, they have enough space and design sense to match and lay out furniture pieces together so that you get a good sense of what will go together. Wish we saw Ballard Consignment first, would have saved us a lot of time. Will most definitely be returning for more when we’re ready for more furniture.

This consignment stores has so many things. From clothing to furniture. Price was reasonable for some things. Felt like some of the items were brand new. Big place, 2 floors of items. They deliver if needed. Street parking only

On a hunt for a entry way table, my friend and I went thru Ballard Consignment in the hopes of scoring a value. I was impressed by the large number of items they carry here with a really solid selection of tables and chairs in particular.
The prices were on the high end for pretty much everything and the furniture ran the gamet of Pottery Barn to mid century modern. Virtually everything was in very good condition and many could pass for new.
This is not the place to shop if you are looking for a couch or lounge chair as selection is pretty limited for these things and many of the smaller items were frankly overpriced. I’d think folks in the market for cool antique-​ish side boards or mid century modern pieces will love their selection. My buddy was happy perusing their mini room of kitchen toys from days gone by which was a pretty one of a kind space in Seattle.
In addition to the large selection of those kinds of things in particular, the store also offers delivery and had a 10% off coupon for Unilocalers, so be sure you ‘check in’ on your phone for a discount.

A quality consignment store if for no other reason than the size. You spend more time driving to most stores than you do browsing them, but you can actually spend a decent amount of time walking the two floors of BCS. They have a wide selection of, well, most everything. You’ll find your share of furniture, clothes, nicknacks, and other random things to impress your friends with. It took us a couple visits to find something we actually wanted to buy, but it turned out to be the perfect vintage dining room table for our new house… so it was worth the effort. We’ve never gone on purpose, we just walk in randomly when we’re in the area. I think we got a decent deal, so I’m sure we’ll be back.
Rumor has it they’re expanding to take over the huge space Skarbos, so they’ll be even more expansive. They’ll actually get dedicated parking with the expansion, so +1 there.

First of all parking is a nightmare. Unlike the Greenwood store there is no parking here which is very inconvenient for a furniture store.
Once inside the store is quite nice. Many of the prices are higher than I think is reasonable but they have a nice selection.
I prefer their Greenwood location (The Furniture Guy) to this one but it’s worth taking a look here if you’re in the market for used furniture. They do take offers.
