Full Tilt Ice Cream

Yummy ice cream. A good mix of standard and unique flavors. Generous portions. Friendly service. Lots of pinball machines and a few arcade games makes for a nice outing with kids.

You are welcome to have a try before you buy .I bought a huckleberry after I tasted. It is great and not too sweet. You can also play games here. The ice cream is great but not perfect. But the environment is unique. So I would like to give five stars.

I’m in town for an internship over the summer, and today, after I returned from my weeklong orientation in another state, I had a giant craving for ice cream. I managed to find this place on GrubHub, offering delivery of their ice cream in my area. I decided to give it a shot.
Definitely worth it! The lavender ice cream was bought on a whim, because I’d never had anything of the sort before. It was pretty tasty, and the chocolate ice cream that I also bought was pretty good, as well. The delivery was on time, too, and even though I don’t live far from the store, she transported the ice cream in a tote that guaranteed it’d remain cold. I’d love to try some of their other flavors, so it’s something I’ll keep in mind the next time I want some ice cream.

Usually I love this place and my friend and I were regulars but tonight we had a terrible experience. We both asked for full tilts and the portion sizes were definitely not what we were used to. His cone was half full and my cup was definitely not as full as normal. There were two girls working and it was busy. When we got to the register the lady with the blue hair and glasses said «okay you got two half tilts?» and my friend told her that he had asked for a full tilt, to which she replied, «Well you should’ve said something earlier to us, now shouldn’t you?» Because it was busy there wasn’t really a moment that he had to ask the first girl helping us to make sure she heard him ask for a full tilt…
With sarcasm in her voice, she then said «Now that you touched the food we can’t take it back so you’ll just have to handle two cones.» Her tone of voice was nasty and uncalled for, we weren’t complaining we just were unsure if they changed their sizes or something. I said «okay that sounds great» to which she replied, «oooh i can sense the sarcam in your voice!»… I was only matching the «sarcastic tone» she was giving us. Did anyone ever tell you that the customer is always right? Do you even know how to treat a customer?!
Anyways, she went to get us more ice cream and asked what I had to which I replied, «I’m good actually, I didn’t want anymore…» So she told us to leave and our ice cream was free… MY FRIEND ASKED FOR THE ICE CREAM NOT ME.
Cool free ice cream. But the customer service was terrible and the way she treated us was so uncalled for. My friend was the one who asked for more ice cream and because I said I was fine with mine she didn’t even OFFER him anymore ice cream she just told us to leave! We will probably be back because this is the only bad experience we’ve had but hopefully someone can communicate the importance of making sure your customer is satisfied with that woman.

I’m not really a huge «sweets» person. So take that into consideration (I’ll try to be as objective as possible). Ice cream is ice cream to me and 90% of the time I end up with coffee as my single scoop after sampling maybe half a dozen experimental flavors. Which they most certainly do have a collective assortment of all natural flavors you certainly won’t find in a grocery store aisle, including but not limited to PBR (yes the beer), and peanuts. Go Mariners!
Like I said I always sample something «different» of their never ending rotation of creative concoctions and try to imagine eating a whole scoop of it. It’s pretty rare I’ll actually venture from my comfort zone on this. But the Ube and thai ice tea might do the trick (yeah, I’m Asian sometimes).
The service has been alright to me. Nothing over the top. Nothing terrible. I love that they have a dozen or so pinball machines here. I’m a little spoiled by the west Seattle bars with free arcade games though. So the fact that I have to pay gets a cheap skate «Meh» from me.

I really enjoy the variety of flavors here! I had a sample of the Blue Moon and Blackberry Cinnamon. They were both very delightful, but I went with the Blackberry. Next time I come here, I’ll be getting that Blue Moon or maybe even the Oreo Coffee (sounds delicious, but wasn’t an option that day). I came in around 10:20pm after a late dinner looking for a good ice cream place that opened late. The guy was really nice and gave us very generous scoops of ice cream. I really liked the music they were playing and the art/​décor was super eye catching as well– so hip. My brother and I didn’t want to be those people keeping the guy overtime, so we were getting ready to leave when the guy came up to us and asked if we want free ice cream! For sure coming back, even if there isn’t free ice cream :)

This place has awesome variety in flavors, including Blue Moon, which is a flavor that is typically only found in the upper Midwest, and essentially tastes like an almondy Fruit Loops in ice cream form. This happens to be one of my wife’s and my favorite flavors of ice cream in the world, so to find it in Seattle is quite amazing. In addition to the Blue Moon, Full Tilt has unique flavors, like coffee Oreo, which was delicious!
As far as the arcades and atmosphere went, the place was crowded, noisy, and busy. Not being arcades people, this didn’t help our opinion of the place, but it won’t detract from our four star scoring. The main issue we had was the noise level, which made it almost impossible to hear the employees behind the counter.
The alcohol and cooler of gourmet sodas was a fun addition to a fun scoop shop! Our recommendation: get it to go, and eat outside on a warm day. We happened to find Groupons after our first visit, so these definitely helped. We’ll be back!

I love Full Tilt! They have great pinball machines here, specifically WHO DUNNIT which is a mystery crime machine. So much fun. Anyway, the ice cream is terrific, the beer isn’t over priced, the atmosphere is great… It’s a fun place for kids and adults alike. And it smells like heaven in there! What’s not to like?

The service isn’t the best (most of their attendants seem annoyed if you sample more than a couple of flavors) but the Coffee Oreo ice cream is AMAZING. Rich coffee flavor with big chunks of Oreos. We just wish they kept the Coffee Oreo on continual rotation.

This place is such a gem. Walked by it while exploring Ballard, and it easily became the best part of the night.
It’s like stepping into a time machine and walking into the childhood hangout spot of your dreams. Pinball machines, classic arcade games, and even one of those bubble gum pinball machines you used to beg a quarter for. What sealed the deal was the 25cent Street Fighter game.
If you’re looking for a dessert place, a post-​date ice cream, or a place to soak in some sweet nostalgia, check em out.

I enjoying coming to this place because they make their own ice cream. I’m all for natural, local, and wholesome ingredients. This place blows Baskin Robbins out of the water. They even offer some vegan options as well.
If you’re 21+ they also serve alcohol. Want to play some video games/​pinball? This is the spot. They close at a reasonable time and this place
Is not too overwhelming on the weekends. They also offer a variety of seasonal items you have to check out, too.

This is a super fun hangout place. Great ice cream and vegan sorbets, fun pinball machines and really good tunes, quite often from the lo-​fi punk rock library. They can make a really good malt here – an old fashioned chocolate malt was treating me pretty darned well tonight.
I also really appreciate how this place attracts all types, from people who are super into pinball to parents with kids to bar hoppers who are grabbing a dessert snack; very cool to get to watch a cross section of the neighborhood pass through over the course of a few hours.
At least two of the pinball machines must be fairly forgiving: I am among the world’s worst pinball players and yet tonight I won free games on the «Creature from the Black Lagoon» machine and on another machine near the back that has something to do with bass fishing. There are few things in life that are as deeply satisfying as the loud THOK! sound that a pinball machine makes when you earn a free game.

Sometimes you just don’t feel like a beer when you’re playing pinball, sometimes you just feel like some ice cream. Enter Full Tilt. I like that they offer non-​dairy options too for those of us that are lactose intolerant. Yay for coconut milk dreamsicle!
I imagine those pinball buttons are all sticky from ice cream fingers. They should probably sell some sort of contraption that you can hang around your neck to eat your ice cream hands-​free.

1) Cheapest ice cream in Seattle. $ 4 for two BIG scoops. Hard to finish portions. Unless you’ve had leg day that day.
2) Salted caramel and almond coconut don’t even take a sniff at the same flavors at Molly Moon’s or Bluebird or Parfait.
3) Vanilla is actually VERY good. (I’m a vanilla snob).
4) Lots of vegan options — based in coconut milk. Their vegan chocolate ice cream is BOMB, and one of the best ones I’ve had, and I’ve tried many. (Again, ice cream snob). ((I grew up in New England)). (((We know our ice cream there))).
Overall: I won’t choose this place over any other ice cream shop I’ve tried in Seattle. But if you’re in the area, have a hankering, and are on a budget, this is a great place for you!

I ordered the lemon raspberry swirl but overall I thought it was just okay. I was expecting something more sweet and tangy. The ambiance was pretty cool, there are rows of pinball machines that are $ 0.75 per play.
They give you a pretty generous serving and the waffle cone was great! If you are more into creamy ice cream flavoring this is your spot. If you are more into the sorbet sweet type, this might not be the place for you.

Maybe I went on an off day but I was extremely underwhelmed by my visit to Full Tilt.
Ice cream seemed generic (not that special), especially the strawberry flavor. The almond joy flavor (using a coconut base) was better, but not too impressive either. Would not come back again, unfortunately.

Full Tilt… I wish I could quit your slightly Bipster ways. I have such a soft sport for the birthday cake, thai iced tea, and ube flavored ice crams you churn out, and I love that I can play some pin ball to my hearts content and can do so with my younger, under 21 siblings. I also like that, unlike Molly Moons, I can get my ice cream and actually enjoy it on the premises (seriously, those stores are pretty cramped).
Keep on rocking it, Full Tilt.

Though not always a fan of ice cream, the pinball lured me into Full Tilt in Ballard. While inside I decided to get some ice cream since I saw some flavours I had never tried before.
I had the ube (Filipino Purple Yam) ice cream, which was so different but really good. I was surprised at the size of the cone, but really wish they had let me get the smaller size, not all people can eat that much ice cream! But thats for children and the elderly only, good grief.
All in all, good environment and cool flavours. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come back but good to see what the hype is about.

Awesome! I come here every time I am in Ballard and I have never been disappointed. There is always a fantastic range of delicious flavors. You can also try before you buy, so you have no excuse for flavor envy!
If you have eaten your ice cream and want to take some more home, there is a freezer of take home packs near the front (but around from the front door, so sometimes missable), and sometimes there are different flavors there from what is available in scoops.
Plus, in addition to their awesome range of pinball machines, they have hyper bishi bashi, street fighter and the ninja turtles arcade game! If you are out of quarters, there’s also a handy change machine inside the shop. What’s not to love?
