Be prepared to wait for mediocre, overpriced bagels. There is nothing about Bagel Oasis that would make me want to return rather than simply going to Panera or Einstein. My fiancé and I opted to visit the bagel oasis on a Saturday morning instead of a more traditional brunch spot with a usual Seattle wait. When we arrived, there were two people in like with 4 – 5 parties already seated and eating. We ordered a latte, a sandwich, and an omelette and sat down at an open table. We proceeded to wait for 30+ minutes before any part of our order was ready, including the latte. When the food arrived, coupled with a pickle spear and 5 non-fresh, baby-cut carrots I was surprised to find it was much smaller than I would’ve expected for a $ 9 bagel sandwich. The taste was pretty good, but nothing memorable.(This is the main reason it’s 2-star and not 1-star.) The most frustrating part was the complete lack of organization. Parties arriving well after us were being served before others. Order numbers were verbally assigned at checkout, which would be fine if the wait was less than 5 minutes, but no one seemed to be able to remember it 20 – 30 minutes later. This left a gaggle of high school aged employees mindlessly drifting behind the counter until random order would come out and everyone would have to figure out who’s it was. Several to go customers waited for 10 minutes for a simple bagel order, only to be told that they were out of that flavor. The only adult present seemed to be the manager(or owner?) who appeared ambivalent at best about the total lack or order.

It pains me to say that these are probably the most east coast legit bagels in Seattle. Taste wise, they’re better than everyone else out there. The service, however, actively makes me not want to go there. It’s taken 20 minutes to get a bagel untoasted with cream cheese with no one else in the restaurant… You will stand in forever and if you will see order after order get screwed up. Kids will be crying. The staff looks like they’re going to cry too. Stupid expensive, silly service, but ught;askehaf;l, why are the bagels so good?

The bagels are delicious! The omelets are wonderful too. Super family friendly, even has a cute little play table with cozy chairs for parents. Only thing I would suggest to management is to get table numbers rather than entrusting customers to remember their number. Twice people spoke up about my food & then after staff walked away raised their hand saying it wasn’t there. Kind of gross to be served food that has been set on someone else’s table. Service is a little slow if eating in, but who wants to be in a rush for a relaxed family breakfast. With all that said… I’ll keep going back! Always great to have yummy bagel spot.

This is a comfortable neighborhood spot with a good selection of bagels and spreads. The girl behind the counter, Carlye was helpful and kind. I appreciate their selection of beverages to go along with the bagels.

Tasty bagel, but maybe don’t get it toasted. The bottom half. of my bagel was thinner so when it was toasted, the bottom was super hard and crunchy. I had to throw it away and just eat the other half. Also, seems way overpriced! $ 4.99 for a blueberry bagel and cream cheese!!! WTF!

Decent bagel place; I generally crave bacon and egg sandwiches on the weekends and Bagel Oasis’s «Egg on a Bagel» sandwiches do a great job satisfying those cravings. I’ve even debated getting the sandwiches delivered via BiteSquad, but considering that the delivery fee is as much as the sandwich it hasn’t seemed worth it yet. The regular(i.e. non-breakfast) bagel sandwiches are also pretty tasty! It seems pretty family friendly, which for me makes it slightly less appealing in terms of atmosphere. I prefer to avoid screaming children as I’m still waking up, but I would imagine that if I had offspring of my own this would be a good place to go. I also am not a huge fan of the coffee; I’ve gotten a latte here twice and the beans are just no good! Head next door to Sod House for yummier espresso(and maybe a pecan bar as an after-breakfast treat). All in all, I’ll keep coming back for the sandwiches. It’s close to my house and good enough to justify being lazy and not making my own breakfast on the weekends!

This place over charges and consistently messes up to go orders. Get it together

After 5+ years of moving to Seattle from NYC, we’ve finally found a comparable bagel. While it’s not Murray’s, they definitely host a crispy outside, chewy inside bagel. Not the friendliest staff, but I’ll give a pass for the exceptional bagels. Also, if this is your first time here, take note of the«express lane» and the regular ordering area.

Slow service, high prices and always dirty. I still go here as its kid friendly and close to our house, but they could do so much better.

Still on a search for a good bagel place in Seattle and I don’t think this is it. There was a lack of greeting and the guy who served us was very rude and clearly inexperienced. He took the payment with gloves on and then proceeded to cut my bagel without changing the gloves. I’ve never worked at a bagel shop but I don’t think that is sanitary. Some of the other workers were a little friendlier and seemed to know what they were doing. The guy helping me also had to come and verify parts of my order 3 different times. I got my order in about 10 minutes but my friends took over 15. Probably won’t come back here.

This place was alright. I found the vibe a little confusing — it’s set up to be an easy sit-down with lots of booths, tables, and even a play space for kids! but everything is served in to-go containers. Service was friendly enough, albeit slow. I ordered a toasted multigrain bagel & soup and it took them a while to bring out the soup — my friend’s omelette came out a bit earlier. how hard is it to warm up soup? And split a bagel in half? There were at least 4 people behind the counter… Anyhow. The food! The omelettes all looked delicious. It was generously stuffed and they had made a thin layer of egg to wrap it up. The bagel I got was okay. I didn’t think it was too spectacular. They didn’t have much for vegan spreads so I ate it toasted & dry. It had a good amount of chew to it, so it definitely beats out anything you’d find in the grocery store — pre-bagged or the fresher ones by the donuts. It was certainly not as exciting as the bagels I’ve had in New York and I imagine it’s on par with most bagel shops in Seattle(I have some research to do!) I also got a cup of butternut squash soup with red pepper purée topping — I thought that soup was altogether well done.

If you want hot bagels(and know what those are) this is the place for you. These type of bagels are uncommon on the West coast but are in my opinion the best type. Most bagels are far too dense and/or doughy with no crust. That’s not for me. And that’s why I put up with the sometimes bad service and relatively long waits at Bagel Oasis, because when I get the actual food in my mouth(current favorite thing is the Emerald City Gem on an onion bagel) it’s all worth it. YMMV, but I defy these people reviewing who think QFC bagels are better. Gross. Oh and for the guy who was confused as to why someone got their bagels before him… Apparently in three visits he still wasn’t observant enough to see that there is an express line(with very limited options available).

I’m sick to death of the dry, pre-stale, bland, mealy bagels that you find at every grocery store and even at some of the most prominent bagel shops in Seattle. You can tell by looking at the blistering on the crust of each bagel at Bagel Oasis that you’ll feel that snap when you take a bite and even though it’s not quite as billowy inside as a NYC bagel, they’re pretty damn good and with some awesome cream cheese, you’ll have yourself the best I’ve found on the West Coast so far. The everything, sourdough, blueberry and plain are all great! I see this shop falls short according to most reviewers based on the service they provide. We went on a Saturday morning around 9 am and found no waiting with a young, smiling employee waiting behind the counter. A small frig containing drinks and spreads divides the counter into bagels only with the namesake baked items in wire baskets lining the glass and the counter that serves sandwiches. I brought some prized cream cheese back from the East Coast this time, but I can’t wait to return and try their plain and scallion spreads now that I know there are bagels on this side of the divide worth shmearing!

WOW. There’s an idiot born every minute, and they’re all on Unilocal! Don’t listen to the haters(seed both sides? packaged grocery bagels are better? who ARE you?). Best New York style bagels outside of New York, plus better than half the ones you can get IN New York. Seattleites are LUCKY to have this place. I live in the food capital of the US, and we don’t have anything like it. People complained about bad service or having to wait too long, but maybe that’s because the only good bagels are here? At 9 a.m. on a weekday morning, it was empty, and my service was super and friendly. I think it’s a nice idea they have an entire breakfast menu as well; they’re covering everyone’s breakfast bases. The only thing that could have been better was kicking out the guy using the place as his office and shouting into his phone. I guess rude people are born every minute too.

I came to Bagel Oasis after a coworker from the East Coast recommended them. The staff was very helpful, guiding me through the large menu and allowing me to take my time. I ended up ordering a bagel with cream cheese and lox, which came out soon after I ordered it. The bagel itself was very good — probably the best I’ve had on the West Coast! Unfortunately, while the tomatoes, onions, capers, and cream cheese were piled on, my bagel slices only had a few small pieces of salmon on them. Also, the baby carrots that came on the side were old and dry. For a sandwich that cost $ 10, I expected more.

Best bagels in greater metropolitan Seattle area. Biggest complaint is that soda machine is often out of ice.

Best bagels in Seattle! I love the salt bagel in particular, it’s like a giant chewy soft pretzel. Super variety of fresh bagels and spreads, and a nice staff in a big cheerful spot. Awesome.

No special bagels here and very rude people! We tried to go there 3 times and each time it was a ridiculously long wait for a simple bagel(30 – 45 min with no other customers). The last time we went there we ordered and waited for 15 min and an other customer came in and ordered and got his bagel before us — when we were asking why his got done before ours — ours was not even started yet — the man just said the orders he takes have priority over the ones the girl takes — why? No explanation!!! It ridiculous how they manage this place… It’s always empty and they still don’t think to change anything in there customer service… We will def not be back since there are other bagel places in Seattle that are nicer and make a bagel in a reasonable time!!!

How I heard of this place: When living in the neighborhood, I often frequented the Crêpe Café. Bagel Oasis is just next door. Type of cuisine: Bagels. Bagels. Bagels galore. Baked fresh daily. «Bagel Oasis has been baking Seattle’s best bagels since 1988. We use only the finest natural ingredients and old fashioned baking methods to create a bagel that is unparalleled. Not too heavy. Not too crunchy. With just enough spring to balance the crust’s slight snap. The sort of bagel that, when emerging hot and fragrant from the oven, could startle birds a block away.» Ambiance: Simple. Seating enough for hoards. Cafeteria style, intimate booths, quiet staff, colorful, helpful signage with space for children. No frills, yet bagels make up for it… times 20. What I ordered: When I perused the selection in the display, one immediately caught my attention. I asked what it was, and asked them to plate it immediately! The only Pesto Bagel($ 1.25) remaining, I needed to ensure it was mine. I ordered it with a schmear of Feta & Garlic & Dill cheese($ 2.90), and a short Chai($ 2.65) with which to wash it all down. My friend enjoyed the Blueberry Bagel with cream cheese and a larger Chai($ 3.40). What I loved: All of it. The combination of Pesto with Feta, Garlic, Dill cheese spread could not be beat! The slightly sweet blueberry bagel, perfectly baked with creamy cheese. Wow. I could use one right now. Why I loved it: Quaint and cozy, unrefined and unpretentious. A seamless and natural space for a quiet snack, breakfast before work, or a lunch on the go. Cost: Low to average($ 1.25 — $ 5.45 per bagel with spread)
