I ordered the cheese bread and eggplant parm with meatballs for pick-up. I arrived and the hostess was anything but personable. She was short and seemed extremely busy even though the place was empty. She was answering phones and hanging up on everyone and telling them she was busy. The portion of the food is huge… But that doesn’t matter because it’s inedible. The cheese bread was hardly bread, just cheese. Literally. The bread portion of the bread stick was about as thick as 10 sheets on paper and they were completely salty. The eggplant parm was HUGE. Could easily feed three people; however, the sauce to cheese ratio was completely off(waaaay too much sauce… And I LOVE more sauce than cheese), the Marinara was extremely salty, the eggplant was undercooked and crunchy, and the cheese was rubbery(maybe it was Mizithra… Definitely not parm). To top it off, the meatballs left a lot to be desired. They were tiny and bland. I guarantee you they came from one of those bags you buy from the frozen section of a grocery store. All in all, I didn’t eat it. I felt like I was shoveling spoons of salt into my mouth with every bite and the taste simply did not work for me. I don’t recommend this place. Please do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

Hello… what can be better than all day Happy Hour? A hearty portion of Eggplant Parmesan Pasta for $ 7.50? Yes, please! I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of cheese on top(yes, there is such thing as too much cheese). The fried eggplants were nice and the sauce was delicious. You also get two big pieces of garlic bread! I will definitely be back to try other Happy Hour menus like Spaghetti and Meatballs :9

We got some coupons in the mail for this place(Now called Allegra) and after having the flu for two weeks and finally feeling better, I was in the mood to get out of the house and have some low-key Italian food, so we went to the restaurant. The food was fine, I would say average for this type of place. The pasta was on the bland side, but nothing a little salt and pepper can’t fix. It was satisfactory enough food for a low-key night, but the restaurant experience left a lot to be desired. I would order delivery or get takeout from them, but I wouldn’t go eat in the restaurant again. It was sort of dark and smelled like bleach, and while the service was efficient and there were no major errors made, the server looked miserable, was working the whole room by herself, and was wearing a lot of perfume. We were given two menus– a «happy hour» menu and a regular menu(this was at dinnertime). They had some of the same items on them, but by the stark difference in prices, it made me wonder what the difference was, and no explanations were given. I asked her if the portions were different and she kind of apologetically said they were(no need to apologize– if I am paying less than half of what they are on the regular menu, I wouldn’t expect the same portion). We did end up ordering cheese sticks and calamari from the«happy hour» menu and they were decent portion sizes for the $ 5 each price. They were just your basic fried foods that probably came out of a box from a supplier, but that’s kind of what we were in the mood for, so it worked. I also had a $ 4 glass of wine from the«happy hour» menu, which was fairly average, but the price was right. She explained we couldn’t order off of the«happy hour» menu if we had a Groupon, which we didn’t, but she didn’t mention coupons and I didn’t think to ask. At the end of the meal when I tried to present my coupon, it was denied because we had ordered appetizers off of the Happy Hour menu, and she said something like«you should have told me you had a coupon, and I would have told you you couldn’t order off of the happy hour menu.» Um, OK? I don’t work here, so how would I know that? I wouldn’t expect to use the coupon for the happy hour menu, but the coupon I had was for entrees, and we had ordered entrees from the regular menu. Oh well, OK, we saved money anyway, and the total wasn’t too bad considering we got enough food for dinner and lunch the next day. But overall the restaurant experience was lacking, and in future if I got their food, I would just stick to takeout or delivery.

Got cupon in mail for $ 3 off large pizza. pizza was $ 29 and then $ 26 with cupon. I get tasty pizza for $ 30 from palliacci all the time. So at that price point I expect above average pizza. Large pizza had spungy doe that was not cooked enough. Barely any pizza sauce on it, dry as a bone. Ordered pepperoni, sausage, green pepper. Mostly sausage and not much green peppers or pepperoni. Honestly a $ 10 Costco pizza tastes better. Also very greasy and cheese not good quality. I would never get a pizza there again.

We got a coupon in the mail and decided to check it out. We ordered the Sicilian pizza and the delivery time was 30 mins and staff was polite. Although the delivery time was ok, the pizza was bland, over priced(with coupon) and tasted like Costco pizza. Won’t order here again.

Stopped in for lunch today after a nice paddle boat ride on Green Lake. We decided to ear here because the happy hour menu had pretty good prices, so we thought we’d give it a try. The waitress was nice, if a little unclear. We were given a happy hour menu and also a regular menu, but you had to be specific about which menu you were ordering from. The descriptions of the food didn’t really seem to match what we received… I ordered the tortellini Alfredo and the happy hour menu said it came with bacon and peas. When I ordered it, the waitress said, «the special or tortellini Alfredo?» So I said the Alfredo, because the one I was looking at was in the regular pasta section of the happy hour menu. Maybe I ordered the wrong one? Anyways my meal came out with no peas or bacon, which I only realized was missing as I was leaving and thinking back on the menu. Also the Alfredo was bland, only improved by salt and pepper. My friends had similar experiences. According to the menu, the chicken Parmesan said it has pesto on it. That’s strange, as most of the time that dish doesn’t have pesto involved. But when it came out, no pesto to be found. Also the caprese salad was simply 4 slices of tomatoes with small amounts of mozarella on top and missing the balsamic…

The pizza here is fabulous. And the breadsticks are great too. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

Loved this place! I had a groupon so I went with my boyfriend on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. It’s in a great location, right across from the park/lake so you can burn off all those calories afterwards. Parking is meh, you’ll probably have a bit of a walk, especially if its a nice day. I got the Meat Lasagna and my boyfriend got the meatballs. It’s a lot of food! My only marginal complaint is that the lasagna had far too much cheese, not enough pasta/meat. Staff was great, food was quick. Highly recommend.

Their Calzones(especially the Meat Lover’s Calzone) is delicious and massive in size. They don’t skimp on the ingredients and you get a ton of different types of cheeses and meats. You can easily feed 2 large people(or maybe 3 – 4 smaller people) with one calzone. I’ve also had a pepperoni pizza, the chicken parmesan sandwich and their cheese bread. All are good but if you go, try to check out the calzone first. Otherwise, the place is nice, has a pleasant atmosphere, has nice employees and is conveniently near GreenLake. 4 Stars.

One of my go to places at Green Lake. AMAZING prices really, especially for Seattle. Great value as most portions are enough for second dinner later or next day. And coupons come fairly often in the mail, at least for me(but I usually just order off HH over coupons). Pretty good Italian food. Pizza and pasta are tasty as is the Bruschetta. Canzone are next on my list to try. Also very friendly staff. PROTIP HAPPYHOUR: Happy Hour is all day I believe and has fantastic prices. The pizza is enough for two and it’s only $ 12. Although note if you order off the happy hour menu, you must order 100% off it. It’s not like most places where you can pick some things off HH and some things from the full menu.

NEVERAGAIN will we eat here .The waiter told us it was«all day happy hour». It was about 3:30pm. We were handed two menus, the Happy Hour menu and the regular menu. I ordered a beer(after all it was happy hour) my wife a glass of water. We decided to order food off the higher price regular menu. When we received the bill we were charged the regular price for the beer because the waiter told us we didn’t order off of the Happy Hour menu and also because we had a Groupon we were charged full price for the beer. We have never encountered that at any other restaurant.

Very inexpensive. Super friendly staff. The happy hour menu is all day on Saturday and is a great deal. 4 of us, 2 pizzas, 4 entrée’s, 2 beers each for $ 95 including tip. It’s a great value!

Great service, amazing happy hour prices, only $ 22 for an appetizer and two entrees. Some of the best Italian I have had in a long time.

Food is decent most of the time. Delivery takes forever. If it says 45 minutes, expect 2 hours. I try to call before I run to the grocery store, and dog walk. I know that I will be waiting awhile. I have never once heard an apology, lol. Offered a desert, or a coupon for the next time. I just put a order in so I’ll let you know how long this wait is. So my 10 inch pizza 7 inches. The amore. Whole olives. Lol. Cold.

As of tonight will be moving on to other restaurants! Have been ordering delivery for over 6 years now and the food is great. however. tonight I opened my box and my dinner was half the amount of food — NOKIDDING — it has ever been. and the price was the same! Not a happy camper right now!

This place is the best in the area! We came Sunday night and our server was very kind and knowledgeable for vegetable dishes. We ordered Putanesca pasta and Amante pizza. Pasta was very tasty, combination of artichokes, mashrooms and cheese tortellini in marinara and pesto make the pasta best choice for vegetrrian dish! The pizza was perfect combination of ingredians and the crust was just right! We highly recommended this place ! We got a menu with bunch of cupons which will be used next time.

We have been living in the Green Lake area for about 5 years now, and pass by Amante Pizza and Pasta often. My coworkers have recently been ordering lunch from the Ballard location and enjoyed the food, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to purchase the groupon and give them a shot. We dined for dinner on a weeknight. We were surprised and worried about how empty the restaurant was, hoping the food would be okay. We shared the chicken parmigiana and the Amante Pizza with prosciutto, sausage, veggies, shredded pepperoni. When the food came out, we enjoyed both dishes. The pizza was decent and the shredded pepperoni was a cool concept to distribute the meat more evenly to each bite. The chicken tasted moist and went well with the spaghetti noodles, sauce and garlic bread. We liked that the portions were very generous. The waitress was polite and sweet, and checked in us to see that we liked our meal. I was happy with her service. However, when we got home, both my husband and I got food poisoning that made us both become very sick with stomach pain and digestion problems for the next few days. Getting sick from a restaurant is unacceptable. This unfortunately gives us a very negative impression on Amante, regardless on if the food tasted good or the service was nice. We will likely never eat at Amante again.

Amante pizza is a cute little neighbourhood pizza place. It didn’t feel like a chain store even though it is one. I think thats a plus. I had the house special pizza and it was satisfying but I think there is room for improvement. The style of pizza can be best described as a thinner deep dish(chicago style). The toppings were excellent but my main issue was with the crust and the cheese. The crust was either uncooked or soggy in the middle portion of the pizza. And the cheese tasted rubbery. The customer service was really nice. The server was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Next time I go here I might try something besides the pizza.

I’ve been here twice now and I think this last trip sealed the deal. The first time I went the food was mediocre at best and the service was worse, they just don’t care at all. I don’t even think it’s worth the money already spent on the Groupon I got(I should have read the fine print, you have to dine in). Today I arrived at the restaurant and noticed a horrible smell of rotten garbage. I had assumed that it was from the alley by the front door but when I walked in to the restaurant I noticed that the closed sign was up. I found that odd considering I just placed a pickup order. The door was open so I walked in and flipped the sign the correct way, the two staff that were there(no cooks?) thanked me for that so it seemed like it was supposed to be open yet there was not a single customer in sight(this is 7:30p on a Thursday). After a few minutes of waiting for my food I notice that the trash smell is still stuck in my nose, if not worse. Finally it dawned on me why the sign said closed. I’m not sure how, or why, but the smell of trash was worse in the restaurant than in the alley by the suspected garbage cans(perhaps there’s more air flow outside). I found that very ironic since they rejected my groupon as it’s dine-in only. Really, how could have I eaten in that env? I got home and inspected my food. The pasta smelled ok, but still had remnants of that trash smell(my wife noticed that too), however the garlic bread smelled very strongly of trash and I had to throw it out. That’s a serious problem when the food smells like trash. I am calling now to ask for a refund. This saddens me as it seems like it has a lot of potential to be a good restaurant if they could get their act together. The icing on the cake was the $ 5 slice of cheese cake(I will upload a photo for the record). I can go down the street to Butcher and Baker and get nearly twice that amount for the same price and I find it significantly better. UPDATE: I called the restaurant to let them know of the issue. They were surprised that I threw out the food but I’m sorry, I cannot eat something that has any remnant of garbage smell attached to it. The only edible part of the meal for me was the salad which was seemingly more resistant to the smell. It was comforting to see that they do in fact care for their customers when I called, however I asked for a refund and they told me they have to check with a manager and call me back. That call has not yet come, it’s nearly 10pm now and I have a feeling I’ll have to dispute this via the CC company. UPDATE: As I suspected, I never got a call back. To add insult to injury, I also notice that the cost on the receipt from the store was a few dollars more than my online order. Pretty crazy considering I got two items. Oh well, they can deal with the CC company from here on out. Hopefully I can get a refund on my groupons, I have been so put off that $ 40 in free meals is not enough to entice me back(anybody want them?). Sad to see such a great location go to waste. I definitely won’t be back until I see a significant turn around in the reviews.

I’ve eaten at three different Amante locations. Of the three, this is my least favorite, which is disappointing since it’s right next to Greenlake. I think it’s a great location. I’ve never ordered take out from here so perhaps that is a different experience. On my last visit, we were having a family dinner — 4 of us. It was a Sunday evening and the place was empty except for a two top(a table of 8 came after we had ordered). This is going to sound weird but they use Open Table there. Because I get points, I always look to see if a place I’m going uses it. Amante came up. Upon arrival, I asked the server about Open Table. She didn’t know what it was but luckily, someone in the back did. We got 4 glasses of water. Two of them had ice. The other two once had ice but it had since melted. It was clear that the server brought us two glasses of water that were intended for someone else 15 minutes earlier. Did I mention the fly in one of the glasses? Well, there was one. Just one though. The server took our order without a pen and paper, which is cool because there really weren’t very many people there at that point. After I thought she put our order in, she came and basically said she forgot my brother’s order, which is unfortunate because she ordered him the regular chicken parmesan, not the low carb one that he ordered the first time she forgot it. I will say that the food came quicker than I expected. For some reason, we had 2 place settings instead of 4, leading to awkwardness as we were unable to eat our food. The woman who brought out the food was super nice and I was glad to see her instead of our server. The food was good; portions healthy; and I think the price points were right. White spaghetti is my favorite — noodles cooked right, good amount of sauce, appropriate seasoning — it’s a good dish. The pizza was good, not the best I’ve had but definitely worth buying. The salads were the perfect size and I really like their house dressing. The tiger prawn fettucini was good but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen tiger prawns that small before. It’s unfortunate that I won’t be dining there often because customer service appears to be relatively low on the list of priorities. The other locations will get my business.
