Tried the fish taco, shredded beef taco, and a cheese enchilada and they were all great! The rice was excellent… not that nasty white cilantro rice that everybody is serving in Arizona, no the good sticky Spanish rice. The refried beans were good too. The waitress was so friendly and helpful, even offered suggestions on what to get. A little small inside, but we did get a table right away for lunch, when other nearby restaurants had 40 minute wait times. The food was excellent and the customer service was on point, very refreshing. Oh and the prices were great too! Next time I go back, I’ll be stopping in for some tacos for sure!

My wife and I tried Baha Fish Tacos, Shrimp Tacos & pollo chicken soft tacos. Baha Fish and Shrimp Tacos were amazing. My wife tried Shrimp wet burrito and it’s out of the world.

Just had the best Pork Chili Verde burrito ever! Fresh, juicy, spicy and delicious. My husband really enjoyed his wet Chicken burrito. Our Server Mallorie was terrific and attentive. We will be back again and again and again!

I traveled 3000 miles from Maryland just to get a most delicious fish burrito at Taco Surf! The salsa is fantastic. The guacamole was great! Had a great time and our server, Samantha, did a wonderful job. Thank you for taking and posing for pictures outside with us. We had a fun time.

My girlfriend and I stopped in around 7:30 for our valentines dinner and this place did not disappoint! Located in Seal Beach near the Pier this place offers a variety of different Mexican food from tacos to wet burritos at a very reasonable price! Upon arriving we were seated promptly and our servers — we had two — were very welcoming and accommodating! The blonde lady always had a smile on her face and the older gentleman was always checking up on us and did a great job making us feel like we were right at home. Amazing service: 5 stars! Now to the food! We were served complimentary chips and salsa immediately upon being seated. The chips were delicious — although some pieces were a little stale — and I’m pretty sure they’re home made so that’s an awesome bonus! The salsa was awesome; to me, it was the perfect consistency and it was seasoned perfectly. Just delicious, tangy, oniony goodness. I had three tacos: al pastor, chicken, and fish taco. Al Pastor: the flavor of the meat itself was delicious and the condiments really helped elevate this taco and provide different textures and flavors. My one concern is that I wish it was seasoned a little better with just a dash of salt and lime juice it would’ve made this taco a whole different beast. It was still good though: 4STARS Chicken: this taco was very average. The chicken was dry on the inside and it felt like a very Americanized chicken taco with the shredded cheddar cheese on there. The one positive about this taco was the guacamole which tasted delicious and was decently seasoned. The meat was also a little bland. Average: 3STARS. Fish Taco: this is the taco that boosted my whole dining experience and really delivered in terms of flavor and texture. Just amazing. Make sure you order it you will NOT be disappointed. There is a piece of crispy fried fish — seasoned to perfection — topped with crisp veggies and a delicious tangy, citrusy baja sauce. It is amazing and the fish is crispy crispy crispy. Definitely has a bite to it and just thinking of it makes me hungry. 5STARSALLDAY … MUSTGET. Overall this dining experience was very good. The service was awesome and the food was good. It doesn’t deserve a 5 star because there was technical issues here and there. But overall it was a great dining experience and I’m glad I was able to enjoy it with my girl :)

Delish! The taco al pastor will definitely be ordered again. Also a big fan of the chile relleno — the cheese was on point! Glad I stopped in to try this place. Bonus points for having Tecate on draft. No queso though :(service was super. I also like the coasters are cut up beer boxes. I’ve found my SoCal Mexican place at last!

I’ve visited Taco Surf at least every year since its opening. From going in the 80’s with my late grandmother to stopping by this week with my daughter, my family has always had a special place in our hearts for Taco Surf. It might be my favorite restaurant on the planet, if only for my nostalgic and sentimental memories of the restaurant. The restaurant still has a lot of the same marks of quality it had for the last 25+ years. Hot fried corn chips, extremely fresh salsa with a heavy hint of cilantro, pork chili verde, and baja fish tacos. Along with some new good recipes that have been developed along the way(scorpion chowder). I’m sad to say that there has been a slight dip in the quality of ingredients across the rest of the menu. The flavors just seem a little flatter, the meats a little less lean, etc. I don’t know if this is due to moving towards more canned ingredients or dried seasonings to keep prices low(they’re still pretty low!), but I’ve been disappointed with my order the last few visits. One example: I hired the Taco Surf food cart to cater an event a while back in the South Bay. I was extremely disappointed to see their famous fish tacos prepared with fish pulled from an economy sized box of frozen battered fish tenders. It was almost like finding out that Santa isn’t real all over again. As long as their doors are open, they’ll have a loyal customer in me. I hope for their sake that they keep up the quality of their food, so that those doors stay open for good.

Always go here for a Mexican Food fix, NEVER disappoints, Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Cold Beer. Just a FUN place to eat ! Just about everything on the menu is good. Although I never tried everything on the menu, but I am sure most of it would be good… also, this location is a few steps from the beach so you cant beat that.

You can’t go wrong with Taco Surf. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always a crowd pleaser. It’s on main street in Seal Beach and very close to the pier so it’s a great place to come to with friends after a day at the beach. As far as Mexican food chains go, Taco Surf is always pretty good. This Taco Surf in particular does not have a full bar. I ordered a wine margarita which I was skeptical about but it was actually really tasty. The servers are always friendly and nice. So if you’re looking for a nice casual dinner while in Seal Beach then Taco Surf is always a good choice!

You can find incredible dishes here! I have a review for three items I recently had there and they are all perfect! chicken tortilla soup-sliced avocado placed on top of chunky hearty veggies and tender chicken meat, i think there was lime juice involved too. or maybe lime salt on the avocado? nonetheless– super amazing seafood bowl with shrimp and catch of the day: fish and shrimp cooked to a crispy but juicy texture! so delicious and perfectly sized, the beans make it filling and yummy. MANGOFLAUTAS: the whipped cream and caramel that accompanies this delicious desert makes it a real treat! The mangos are ripe and fresh and every bite is heaven! I wish I could get these on a daily basis… TRYTHEM! Your recipes are brilliant Taco Surf, thank you for a memorable dinner!

Got the Baja fish taco. Yummy, not too spicy, and flavorful. Wish there was a bit more salsa or pico de gallo to balance the crispy fish and toasted tortilla, but ’twas very good :) The wet pipeline burrito was also good. It’s big! Definitely shareable for two. Great service! Free chips and salsa! 10% off with check in! And super close to the pier!

Stopped in after a bike ride down to the beach. We were starving so although it was right during lunchtime, we were happy to be seated right away at the last 2-top. I opted for one Baja fish taco(fried fish with cabbage, white sauce, pico de gallo and guac), and one carne asada taco. The chips and salsa we were served soon after ordering were good — salsa had some kick and the chips were fresh. Throughout our meal the servers refilled both without us having to ask — yay! The tacos are larger in size than what I’m used to. They were both pretty good, but the fish wasn’t a beer battered fish that I’m used to. more like a bread crumb coating? And the carne asada was a littled dry. But regardless, they both tasted good after a good bike ride. We got a 10% off discount by checking in to Unilocal — score! Overall I was satisfied with the food and service.

I’m obsessed with this place. I’m even more obsessed with their happy hour!!! The deals are insane & the tacos are even better!!! If you like fish tacos, I’m told the Baja tacos(also on happy hour) are AMAZING. I had all carnitas tacos and wow… The chips and salsa are BOMB! Guac is so good too. We even came back 2 days later to try the hot wings and damnnnnnnnn are they delicious. We tried all of their desserts(churros, flan, & strawberry flautas) and none of them disappoint. The atmosphere is really fun and laid back! They have a jukebox you can pay to play your own music which is pretty cool too! I’m definitely becoming a regular here.

The service at Taco Surf was friendly, attentive, patient and gracious. The food here is good, I had the SCORPIONCHOWDER soup which is marked with the«pepper» symbol for spicy, but it’s more zesty than spicy in that it’s the right amount of heat/kick to it where it’s not too hot to handle. I’m usually a «no spice to mild /medium» customer, so that’s the frame of reference for the context of understanding this review and my own tolerance. There’s hot sauce on the table to add more spice if needed, I didn’t need it. The soup is temperature warm, not super scalding hot, so could be served up a bit hotter, but it was good enough. The«Scorpion» is the SHRIMP(Prawns?) used, so there are no arachnid insects with pincers involved with this at all, it’s just got a cool unique name to it. It’s a cream based soup, so like a clam or corn chowder. I think it comes in 8 oz and 12 oz. I always order the large soups, bowls over cups when the price differential is so minor. I’d recommend the 12 oz, and would even say that it would be great if Taco Surf offered a meal sized portion at 20oz + since this is so delicious. The soup comes served with bread you can dip as well. I also had a Pork Taco El Pastor for $ 3.50, it was a tad small, but tasty. I think they offer a Happy Hour Taco from 2pm as the weekday start time for $ 1.50, but heard(can’t confirm ’til I try it ‘tho) it was a smaller portion size, so I’m not sure if it’s a deal or how it compares. Parking is easy(sort of, if you’re used to the hustle and bustle of Metropolitan Los Angeles). There’s 2 hr free(no meters) parking on Main Street, and then adjacent in the residential neighborhoods there’s some 1 hour free parking zones.
