Delicious! Lunch was ready in no time! Order was accurate and food was so tasty. Can’t wait to go back.

I had previously given Charo Chicken only one star due to delivery issues but I have since been contacted by the owner and worked out the problem. I have always loved the food and now that they deliver to my area everything is perfect! I especially love that the owner took the time to contact me and resolve the issue asap.

The food is good… it just takes FOVERVER to get to you. A week night dinner order usually takes an hour-plus. Be prepared and order way ahead

This location has been consistently good. The chicken is flavorful and juicy. It’s simple and tasty! I wouldn’t ever really eat inside — they just have a bar area, but they have a few outdoor tables I would sit at. We usually order a mama chicken meal for a family of 4 with a salad and have plenty. Calling it in is awesome especially for busy nights — they have the order ready quickly. Definitely a go-to chicken spot for us.

Love Moe’s Potato — super filling. The burritos are great, too. The chicken’s moist and flavorful, and they have plenty of condiments. Might be hard to find parking, but the chicken’s better here than at the PCH location.

Wow, the only thing disappointing me is that I haven’t tried them sooner. Delicious fast service. I enjoyed the spicy chicken tostada. The meat was seasoned close to perfection. The staff was friendly with the services and the speed of receiving your order allows you to make this a stop if you have a short lunch break. The portions are unbelievable and I saved half my meal for lunch the next day.

Addictive! From the expertly seasoned, succulent charbroiled chicken to «bring it home» lemon butter sauce, you can’t beat Charo Chicken. Spoiler alert, you will never darken El Pollo Loco’s doors again. I like to spoon the black beans into a flour tortilla, add some of the chicken and, wait for it, dip it all in the lemon butter sauce. Hint, keep an extra napkin near by.

I smelled something amazing in the air, all signs pointed to this place. I went in and only 3 customers were there, I looked at the good prices and said this is too good to be true. I went to taco bell. I went to taco bell and something told me to go back to Charo Chicken. I went back and it was busier and I ordered the 2 piece and a tortilla meal for 4.99! insane… But what was even more insane… The deliciousness of the chicken and the amazing sauce:) I will go back many times.

First time here. Seriously not exaggerating, hands down BEST chicken I’ve ever had in my life! I know it’s a bold statement, but it’s true.

The food was great. I ordered the grand chicken taco($ 3.99). Decent size, flavorful chicken, fresh toppings, lots of yummy shredded cheese!. The service was okay(the cashier girl could’ve been more cheerful). Came with chips and salsa. Overall pleasant experience. Would recommend.

Yes! I think, I hope, I’ve found a healthy, affordable place for take-out! This is great for those of us that don’t have time to cook after coming home from work. A freshly cooked, delicious piece of chicken?!? Yes! And you can get it plain — ask for a side of fajita veggies, black beans and you have enough to feed 2!

Charro Chicken at one time was a big upgrade from El Pollo Loco. Especially the Seal Beach Location. It was very good food and it was consistent. I had not been here in while and decided to stop by after having some business on Main St. I wa ever disappointed. The place always had a chic shabby look but now it just looked shabby. It felt like the business had given up and even the investment in digital menu boards seems like a half hearted attempt at improving. No description or ingredients to help you make a decision on what you want. Just the name of the item and a price. Then I got my food a chicken burrito. The tortilla was not very soft and the ingredients did not taste fresh and the chicken did not have the same charbroiled flavor that I remembered. Over all, I was disappointed with my Charo Experience. Pollo Loco has improved to the point of being consistently better than Charo.

Most ridiculous fuxin conversation I’ve ever had trying to order chix! Me: I’d like to order 4 chix thighs 1sm rice 1sm potato salad Her: you will have to order all dark and it will have to be 2 thighs and 2 legs or we are going to run out of chix cause we are really busy Me: what? So I can’t get the order I want cause you are busy? Her: yes 4 thighs and we will run out. Me:(in my head cause people will do unspeakable things to your food otherwise) are you fuxin kidding me? 2 thighs is ok but 4 will cause you to shut down? You know I’m gonna fuxin pay for all 4 right? Cook more fuxin chix! How is this my problem?! The real Me: then how about 2 thighs and 4 legs?(Notice how I’ve just upped the ante? 4 vs 6) Her: ok WTF!!!

OMG yes Charo Chicken! It’s the way bomb! Oh yes we have came here many times after surfing! I have been coming to Charo Chicken for like 10 – 12 years and it is always amazing. The staff are nice and friendly and the girls that work the counter are so cute and are sweeter than the tasty chicken! And I mean tasty. Charo Chicken is the best. From the chicken burrito which is not quite as large at it used to be «hello» hint hint(please do not make it smaller). We are hungry after surfing! But honestly it is the best from the burrito to the chicken plate with lemon and garlic. It tingles your tongue and taste buds! so much that even though you are hungry it tastes so good you just want to keep chewing to get all that tasty flavor. OMG seriously! You eat at Charo Chicken-will be back! I know I will be. And here are many smiles and hugs for the sweet girls working at the counter! Thanks cuties for your smiles, sparkly eyes and helpful service!

The food here is very good and so is the service I have had problems with delivery in the past in regards to clarity on the order and minor things being missed however so far in the last 5 orders they’ve done a great job and I want to personally recommend the young lady named Vanessa does a very good job answering the phones and represents the business very well

Must stop! One of my favorite place to grab a quick bite or chicken! Its a bit pricey but worth it. Mashed potatoes are to died for… Corn is a bit dry. Rice is okay. Beans are also okay but the chicken is to die for… One of the best chicken places id been to… Great taste of lemon and garlic… Stay away from the BBQ chicken. I repeat stay away from the BBQ. It’s super sweet and a bit sour also. Lemon and Garlic Chicken. Only… Make a delicious taco…

Shortly after my first review, I received a message from the store mgr, apologizing that I never received the gift certificates and asking for another chance. I gave him my address where to send them, and lo and behold 2 days later I got them in the mail . 5x $ 10 gift certificates! I was impressed. From now on though, I order takeout instead of delivery.

I’ve been a fan of Charo Chicken since I first tried it when living in Long Beach a lifetime ago. I’ve also been back in San Diego for the last thirteen years, but no one in San Diego prepares chicken like the way they do over at Charo and boy did I miss my Charo Chicken! We had to drive up to Seal Beach to attend a funeral at the church a block away last weekend. After that service and before heading back to San Diego, we stumbled across Charo Chicken on Main Street as we got lost finding the church. I squealed with excitement when I saw it and told my hubby that we were eating there for lunch after we were done attending the service. Their menu hasn’t changed much over the years and I’m fine with them keeping it simple since it’s already wonderful. I opted for the usual Mama Charo meal that I usually ordered in the past where it’s basically a two piece leg & thigh meal with rice, beans, tortillas and a fountain drink(no substitutions), which is just enough food for me. My hubby wanted to try the chicken fajitas meal which also came with the same sides. There’s just something about the lemon, garlic & butter sauce they slather over the chicken as it’s grilled in an open flame. I also love the paprika that’s sprinkled over it, it’s like the perfect marriage of flavorful ingredients in the chicken world. I wish they had a Charo Chicken in San Diego, it’d definitely be part of my rotation of food spots to dine at if it was closer to home. I think they had one in North County years ago, but I didn’t learn of it until I later heard it closed. Overall, Charo Chicken has always been one of my favorites and it’ll continue to be for as long as they’re around(which I hope will be forever!).

On a break in the middle of a 40 mile bike ride, I Unilocaled to find for a place to find some delicious yet very affordable food and this Charo Chicken is where I landed! First thing to do after stopping is finding somewhere to wash up and do ‘nature’s thing’. haha As I looked I saw there was no restroom and asked the woman at the counter if they had one, to which she replied with a huge smile«its around the corner through the black door outside». Behind the door to the right at the back of the kitchen is a tiny but very clean well kept restroom facility. So far so good. Next its time to order. After looking through the menu I decided on the 2 piece dark meat bbg with flour tortillas and a side of pinto beans. I’d always had the garlic butter sauce but was in a BBQ mood today. Food was served promptly and as I took my first mouthwatering bite… big mistake. Unfortunately the BBQ chicken isn’t cooked in the sauce its merely slate red on after the chicken is already cooked. Unhappy with the taste I spoke to the manager Kathy, explained that I really did not like it and asked if she would exchange for the garlic butter sauce chicken. With a huge smile she immediately said yes and within a minute I had my new plate of chicken. A solid 3.5 stars for the food, and 4.5 stars for the excellent service. Definitely a recommended place to grab a bite in Seal Beach! For those of you who’ve never had Charo Chicken before the chicken is grilled and before it is plated it is coated with either the garlic or BBQ sauce. The chicken was moist, and full of flavor. The beans also have a special secret Charo sauce that tasted of paprika and some chili powder. Whatever it is tastes good! There is also a small salsa bar and of the several salsas, the fire roasted was full of tastey goodness with the Verde a bit behind, being a little watery but still having good taste. The Charo medium was a waste. No taste, watery and quite drab. Overall. I had quite a nice experience. The food was good, the venue is welcoming with a divey hangout feel, and the service and staff were great. Kathy was quite welcoming and friendly, and Hailey also took my order with a smile.

As far as fast food grilled chicken goes, this is the best spot for that. There is nothing gourmet about this place. Just plain delicious fast grilled chicken. It’s definitely a healthier choice while still maintaining a flavorful punch. I recommend their Papa Charro combo or their fajita platter. This place is consistently great, it has yet to let me down. Also, the service is not too shabby. More often than not fast food joints lack in service, but these guys take care of that as well. All in all Charro is a great call.
