I love this place. It’s my fav Phở spot. I’ve tried many of their dishes aside from Phở and they were all yummy.

I grew up literally a few blocks down from this plaza. Back in middle school my friends and I would often walk from Doig to here and either grab phở or some cheap ass pizza next door. The phở at the time we thought was super delicious. But coming back yesterday made me realize no its not that good. Maybe they changed owners or something. I see a different crew of people. The service was extremely slow. The broth was a bit too oily and the phở was somewhat bland. To be honest Im giving 1 extra star for the nostalgia. The place itself is really cramped. There are limited amount of seats but then again it usually doesn’t get packed at all. Overall, its an average phở place. There are others maybe a couple of blocks down but if you’re in the area then its just something you have to make due with. I’ll still come through once in a while for the nostalgia and catch up with my middle school buds.

Not the best but not the worst. Phở broth was a bit bland but the spring rolls were fresh and the dipping sauce was flavorful. If you need a «good enough» bowl of phở(like when you’re sick and your taste buds are slowly fading) this is the place to go. As far as ambiance goes, don’t expect much – it’s in a strip mall ;) Restaurant is dark but clean inside. Plenty of menu items and the prices are fair.

Customer service was not that great, the gentleman taking the orders seemed to be overwhelmed with rhe number of customers and did not write down the orders as he took them so we had to ask several times to get our orders. Even getting a refill on hot tea I had to ask 3 times. However the food was very good. If you can deal with the customer service issues the. food is good.

Best phở ever. My family and I have been coming here for years! Never have I been disappointed with the food/service. I am always willing to travel the distance just to eat here. My favorites include the phở tai, pan seared filet mignon, egg rolls and the vermicelli.

I noticed this on my way to the grocery store, so decided to stop. Had some phở. I was very pleased with the portion size, and the taste and quality. The service was fast and attentive — and friendly. I’ll be back now that I know about this place to try other things.

I had the charbroiled pork chop w/rice. My lunch companion had the veggie Chow Fun. Our food was quite tasty. Unfortunately I could not look over the fact that the veggie egg rolls(one) had a long black hair wrapped around it. I sent the egg rolls back. The staff apologized and asked if we wanted another order but we declined. By then we were over the egg rolls. Fortunately I noticed before we ate them. I’m willing to give this place a second chance because I understand mistakes happen– after all we are only human. Our waiter was very apologetic about it.

I went during lunch time. I arrived right before the lunch rush and placed 2 orders to go, chosen from their specials on the board. I waited a bit and then headed back to the office. Upon opening the food containers I noticed my order of chow me in with orange chicken was missing! I was so bummed. I was hungry so I ate what they did give me by mistake… and it was soooooo tasty! Lots of flavor for sure. I want to say it was house chow me in plate.

I got the wonton soup. It’s okay, not the best! ! Too simple and the wontons wasn’t that tasty. But A+ for customer service though.

Chicken and Shrimp Phở is the Best! A Little Better Service(water refills) would Improve their Rating

I’m always down fro trying a new Phở restaurant. It was a small hole in the wall establishment, which are usually the best kind for Phở. Broth was yummy and wasn’t overly salty. My only complaint was my rare beef was not very good, the meat was pretty tough, like cardboard. I’m thinking int was just a fluke because the broth was delicious, which is more important. If I’m in the area again, I will definitely give it another try.

Had a mad hangover and literally was in the area and didn’t know what to eat. All I could think about is anything soupy. My friend used to live across the street so I remember as kids we would walk across the street for some phở. Phở hien vuong it was!!! As bf and I was sharing stories about how we used to come here all the time, he told me they changed ownership. Eh I was already there so I tried the xlarge Dac biet It was not at all that large Quality of meat was not good Looked at the daily specials and it was chow fun and sounds all like Chinese to go type foods. Go down the street you can find better phở, but if your just in the area this place is ok.

This place has a lot of memories of my family growing up. I would order the same dish time after time again. Rice dish with sauteed mushrooms and onions with a small cup of soup broth and fried eggrolls… and café su da-ice coffee(french slow dripped) with condensed milk. It may have gone through different management but I still go back. I’m a bit shock with the current reviews. However I do agree that the broth is not as good as I remembered. Calamari is yummy with the dipping sauce of lime salt n pepper mix. I would still go back Its more nostalgic.

I have sworn never to come here again. I came here to have phở here for lunch with my boyfriend as we both live within walking distance of this place. It looks small and quaint. Their phở was alright. Their drinks were small and overpriced. What the one star is for is the terrible service. Apparently, especially during lunchtime, one can infer that this place caters to business people. I don’t know where from, but they do. With the line of customers they get, I suppose this is why the phở costs more here than at other traditional Vietnamese phở restaurants. With the high price of the foods, I wanted to double check that I was paying the correct bill. I come up to the register, and the cashier woman fires quick fingers and gives me a total. I don’t get to look at any written or printed check, so I’m trying to think it over in my head. I’m a college student eating phở and can do quick math in my head. The lady gets impatient with me and SHOVES A CALCULATORATME. There is no exaggeration at this, which is why I’m so irritated. Without me at the other end of the counter, the calculator would have just fallen to the ground. I was pissed and nonchalantly punched in numbers, paid the woman, and gritted my teeth as a good customer and still have tip. I’m sure none of that would have happened if it were one of those business people waiting to pay. Way to be a b*tch to your own people. Never again.

Hien Vuong is right across the street from me. Like, right there. I’ve not had the luxury of living so close to a Vietnamese restaurant — how frikkin’ exciting. I hate walking(spoiled OC kid) but since it was VERY close, I managed to travel organically. It was small — small and dark(they painted the walls maroon). On this particular afternoon, there were several groups of business people having lunch. Clearly it was busy. They had only two people taking orders — the owner himself and his wife. We were ready to order so we waved our hands to flag him down. Once he got to our table, I started ordering. About halfway through my order, a group of business men came in and our waiter readily left me hanging on my last word and sat the business men down. I was like, what the hell just happened? I couldn’t believe it. What are we, chopped liver? Just because we were a group of college kids and not business people, doesn’t mean we should be treated like that. If anything, I probably have more free time to Unilocal about this than those yuppies! (I am very well aware of the Vietnamese scale in customer service. An American restaurants’ lowest point on the scale is a Vietnamese restaurants highest point on the scale — so I get it. But, these owners aren’t like any other Vietnamese restaurants’ because they actually speak English very well. In fact, they greeted us upon arrival. But that’s not enough!) The waiter comes back after seating the other party and acts like nothing had happened. I order quickly as I was already irritated. I ordered the Com Tam Suon Nuong(rice with pork chop) and my friends ordered Phở. Salty. Salty. Salty. It didn’t even taste like a pork chop, it was so salty. Fail. And apparently, this is one of the first Vietnamese restaurants to offer Phở in Orange County. Wow. That sucks because their Phở is no bueno. The broth is key to any Phở dish, and this one was particularly sweet and not as savory. Where is that beef flavor? Ridiculous. Bad food and strange service. And change that damn wall color; it’s too moody.

I hate to give such a poor rating for what’s reportedly the first phở restaurant in Orange County, but the taste of the phở broth is quite disappointing. The broth was more sweet than savory, with a real lack of strong beef flavor. The aroma of star anise and charred onion was also faint, if any. The restaurant is also dingy and I’m no stranger to divey joints but your food better make up for it. It’s still quite a hit with its mostly Hispanic patrons, tucked in a strip mall in Santa Ana. The owner was one of the first to offer Phở Camarones, or Phở with Shrimp. Props for helping to put phở on the OC culinary map, but overall, v. underwhelming phở.
