In the lobby of the Hyatt. Came here to watch the 2009NBA Finals with the Mister. Guinness for me. New Castle for him. Appetites were low but curiosity was high so in accordance to the Unilocal Code of Gluttony, we order food. Nacho appetizer with special request to have carne asada added. tee hee. Grilled chicken sandwich that I remember ordering YEARS ago. Burger with Swiss which is the standard at all Hyatts. Nachos were impressive. Fried breads were also a nice touch with the powdered sugar. Steak was beyond tender and more than what I was expecting, even from a Hyatt kitchen(I’ve gone to several Hyatts and one thing that stands out over their beds is their food). Blend of three cheeses and some other stuff came out creamy with a touch of spice. Very nice. Grilled chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread was light and tasty. Nice touch of basil leaf and whole grain mustard. Just as good as I remembered it. Burger was a burger. I just needed something substantial. Fresh produce as always and the dijon mayonnaise was a nice touch. All in all, typical of Hyatt food and great service. Fast, friendly, and accommodating. So why only 3 stars? It’s a cramped little lobby with an atrium build-up. A bit stuffy and in need of renovation. As much as I enjoy lobby hopping, the appearance made it difficult to fully enjoy the surroundings. If you can ignore the slightly old paint and windows clearly looking into all the guestrooms, you’re in good hands.

I make a special trip to eat here every time I am in Orange County. Even though It’s in a hotel lobby and parking can be a pain (unless you park at Red Robin across the street and walk over to the Hyatt) I can’t get enough this place! The weekend buffet is the best.(I think it is. 21.99? 25.99?) but, the selection is huge! There is a made to order omelet bar, fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins and my favorite. fingerling potatoes! There service is wonderful! The waiters are very attentive and they bring a ‘shot’ of the daily smoothie before you order. I’ve only had dinner here once, but the experience was wonderful! Someone told the waiter it was my birthday, and he brought me a small chocolate truffle desert and sang happy birthday to me!

It’s in the hotel lobby, very conveniently. If you’re at a conference at the Hyatt Regency Garden Grove, you may want to eat here, rather than wander around on the street looking for just the right place. One of our friends invited us to lunch, and this was the natural selection. The buffet brunch was an unimpressive taco bar, so we ordered a la carte. Our friend ordered a cheese and zucchini fritatta, which satisfied him, and he’s a foodie. My Lady had a Caesar salad, which had fresh anchovies(white flesh, not salty). I was attracted to the strangeness they called an English club sandwich — turkey, bacon, and a fried egg. It was novel, but I wouldn’t order it again. Prices? Hmm … this is a hotel.
