Great food. Well seasoned and superlative service. Too bad that Faye had to close down the shop. You will be sorely missed.

Gah! This place is now closed. I got a coupon for a buy one lunch get one free and I wasn’t even able to use it. It’s now a Japanese restaurant. Boo.

I live near here and tonight I was craving a Kabob! So I came on here and Unilocaled it to see if it was worth it. And yes it was according to the reviews and my experience was great! I got the shish Kabob plate to go, she throw in a free koobidish kabob both were totally yummy with Veggie’s grilled perfectly. They have limited seating so if you are getting it to go I suggest ordering over the phone, but they don’t have an online menu anywhere so if its your first time you’d have to go in.

Holy mother of god. . the salt content in the chicken koobideh almost gave me an on the spot heart attack. It was so salty I almost couldn’t eat it(but I trucked on) and felt like I had to drink a gallon of water afterward. The eggplant appetizer(kashk something something) was good though and I found the woman(owner?) working there perfectly pleasant, although it took her about 10 minutes to figure out how to work her credit card machine. They also give you a shit ton of rice under the kabobs, but honestly, that salt just did it in for me.

I feel like I keep giving four stars… but there’s really no other way to go on this one. I’m a fan. Not worthy of five stars but certainly better than three. I tried to knock them down because it really doesn’t have great atmosphere. I mean if I were hungry and just needed to eat immediately I guess I could eat there. But I live like five minutes away so why bother? And the food totally makes up for it. We tried the chicken koobideh and it was super salty but I kind of like salt so there. The chicken kebab was good also — kind of like a less salty version so if you’re not a fan of sodium — go with that one. And bonus… it’s a dollar less. You get a lot less chicken but still more than enough for one meal or possibly two. I’m pretty sure I have meals two and three covered with the Koobideh. We also got the Kashk-O-Bademjan. I am totally guessing on that spelling — no menu online. I can’t believe I even remembered that. It was this smoky eggplant stuff and the lady there said to mix in the yogurt that she put on top right before eating. She also gave us lavosh to eat it with. Holy mackeral was that stuff good. I’m an eggplant fan and I would totally go back and just get that for a meal. Not sure if it’s at all healthy but it sure is tasty. Also… did I mention how much freaking food they give you? I’m pretty sure we got like three or four cups of rice underneath the chicken. Oh and it’s served with a charred tomato… I thought that was a really nice touch. And they have a fun Betty Boop sort of theme going near the register and outside. That was fun… I’m a fan =) Overall… food was pretty tasty but restaurant lacks any sort of ambiance… but kind a perfect take out place for dinner… little pricey for lunch in my opinion… guess I’m just cheap like that…

They raised their prices as of jan 2009, all plates are now a dollar extra. As for this place… it was decent, if a little expensive. Came here on saturday night, the place was empty — a sign of a dying restaurant. Got the Lamb Kabob, cause lamb is delicious. There was not nearly enough meat for the $ 16.30 they charged me. Maybe 9 or so pieces.

My Co worker & I were in the neighborhood and wanted to try something new and unique when we saw the Hot Bite Kabob House. I figured the food would be either from Iran or Afghanistan, so it was a risk. It was Persian. We went inside and noticed it was a very small place. The owner was this lady who was very friendly. There were two customers eating while her husband and kids were helping out. We grabbed a menu from the counter and decided on what was good. I ordered first because my buddy was not ready. The owner told me I could not order until my buddy was ready. This was so our food could be cooked and served to both of us at the same time, understandable. I ordered the lamb kabob plate while my buddy ordered the beef kabob plate. The owner told us the lamb was better and more moist than the beef kabob. My buddy stuck with the beef kabob plate. We received our plates within 10 minutes and we were mildly impressed. The food was very good. My lamb kabob was moist and flavorful. While the saffron rice was very good. I also liked the roasted bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes with the kabobs. My buddy liked the beef kabob, they were a bit dry but he did not complain. He knew it since the owner gave him the heads up. The best part of the meal was the owner came by when we were almost done and offered to make us a ground beef kabob, no strings attached. I liked that we did not have to pay for the ground beef kabob. The ground beef kabob had the most flavor out of all the kabobs. It was not as moist as the lamb kabob but it was very good. Overall, this is a good place but the price is a little steep. I paid $ 13.95 for my plate while my buddy paid $ 11.95. Service was the best, but I while try other kabob places for better comparisons.

Good find, thanks to Unilocal.I was getting my car fixed on Stevens Creek and wandered to the Lions Supermarket shopping center, hungry but in search for good food. This place was a good pick; really tender fresh kabob nd fluffly light basmati rice… mmm… i’ll be back…

FYI: The rice is suppose to be dry’ish — that’s how it’s made. You are suppose to mix in the butter(you get that on the side)! Sort of a random find(Thank you iPhone Unilocal app). Great service. Great food. Recommend the Green salad and Soltani.

First off it’s clean for a kabob restaurant. In the area it is located and for typical small sit down restaurants like this where the head over costs are low due to no table service and space — this place is decent. I feel like the food is fresh. Hence, the clean feeling again. Talk about a one man show. She is also the cashier and the cook. Anyhow, I was not let down with the food. The Chicken and Beef Koobidehs had really good flavor. The rice was moist— just how I like it. It definitely is not fresh rice because I heard the microwave go off. The tomatoe’s were sweet and juicy! The maust o mooseer was organic and creamy, the shallots could have been stronger though. The hot sauce was not too bad, I just didn’t like the avocado that made it creamier, I think it would have tasted good without the avocado. She charges 50 cents for hot sauce. That’s overpriced since most places you get it for free. The owner gave us some Tadig(crispy rice) which was sweeter than other Tadig’s that I have tasted. It was also more oily too which I didn’t like. For 2 people for dinner it was $ 36.12. My BFF and I had 1 chicken koobideh and 1 beef koobideh with 1 maust o’ mooseer(yogurt with shallots) 1 hot sauce(they charge for hot sauce) and 2 drinks. I’m glad I found this place. It is definitely good. There are 4 tables in this small joint. I will definitely come back to try their fish kebabs. They have trout and salmon. They have a small menu, but they have the basics like soltani and koobideh, which is important in a Persian restaurant.

I ate here 3 times; first time was good enough for me to return again with a friend. Second time and third time wasn’t so great. The price was reasonable service was very slow and they run out of beef so I had to go with the chicken dish. Third time we sat outside since it was nice weather the owner was sitting there with some friends and she was smoking prior and I do not have to add the food does not taste good when you get a cigarette smell. Avoid!!!

2.5: I’ve been cramming for exams… so I had to find a close by spot to pick up togo food. The kabobs were ok. Edible… but not delightful. I’ve had juicier and tastier kabobs before(KABULSONELCAMINOPEOPLES… MUSTTRY. GREATPILLOWMINTSFORAFTER). I didn’t pick up the food, but my bf did and he said the owners gave him the huge salad for free! Why? Because it was our first time there. So they get credit for being sweet. The food on the other hand, wasn’t as appetizing as I thought it’d be based on the reviews. The grilled tomato was my favorite part of the entire meal. The lamb was much better than the chicken and rice. But all in all, I don’t think I will be coming back. Oh, by the way, for two entrees at dinner time, the total was 35 bucks. At kabuls they are awesome with their portions, the quality of food, and add an appetizer(the lamb samosa) and it equals the same. They also have awesome rice at Kabuls and they give you this yumsicle bread. I guess I should write a review for kabuls. cuz this spot has only made me crave for it!

For some reason I have been craving kabobs lately. Most guys would be intimidated by seeing 9 inch long pieces of meat all the time. Not me. All seriousness… I have eaten my fair share of kabobs and this place has, by far, the best kabobs. I had a meeting in the area and I just happened to find this place nearby so we gave it a shot. I had the combination which was the beef/lamb mixed with the steak. Even though we didn’t order them, the lady working brought out a salad and a «burnt rice» dish. If you don’t know what«burnt rice» is then you are seriously missing out on a good thing. This place is my favorite new lunch spot. Stop messing around with Chatanoga & Rose International. Check out Hot Bite ASAP. Girth.

I have a new place to add to my list of top five«everyday» restaurant where I like to eat. Hot Bite Kabobs was introduced to me by an Iranian-American co-worker who brought kabobs to a pot luck. Since then I’ve gone back three times to sample different plates. I’ve tried the Koobideh(spiced ground beef), chicken, and lamb kabobs. All were excellent seasoned with spices and served with saffron rice.

One of my goals for the new year(because I don’t really believe in resolutions) is to try as many different new types of food as possible. So when a friend suggested we go here to meet up for lunch on my day off, I agreed, not knowing what to expect but willing to give it a go ’round for the sake of experience. I am so glad I did. So glad! While the shop itself is somewhat small and cramped, the food is amazing, absolutely delicious. I got the ground beef kabob, and it was flavorful, juicy, tender, and cooked right there on the spot, served on a bed of buttery saffron rice with sumac powder. Heavenly! I also had a tiny bite of my friends’ chicken and lamb, and they were equally wonderful. And did I mention that the portions were pretty big? Especially considering that the lunch special was only about $ 8, that was a LOT of food! The owner was really really nice, and gave us something(can’t recall the name now) that was basically the scrapings from the bottom of the rice pot, all crispy and toasty and buttery and YUM. Something like the croustine at the bottom of the fondue pot, I imagine.

The service is very good and friendly, but the quality of the food is inconsistent. I’ve tasted some great food there and I’ve tasted some, umm, not so great food.

WOW! I think I just taught my tastebuds a new trick. Roll over, do a backflip and beg for food! This is the sensation I felt as I ate my lunch from Hot Bite Kabob. I saw this place while passing by on Saratoga. It sounded interesting enough, so I decided to stop and try. I ordered the #1 ground beef kabob. I had to take my food to go since I was short on lunch time. As I was driving back to work, I actually needed to get gas but the aromas coming from my bag was so overpowering I HAD to skip getting gas and just pull into work so I could eat, eat, eat! YES! I think my taste buds had an orgasm! The mixture of spices on the beef was soooooo yummmmmmy! The roasted tomato that came with the dish was perfect. I got their hot green sauce which I dipped my meat in. The long grain rice they use went along perfect with the taste of the meat. Portions of the dish are enough to feed 1 very hungry person. Everything was perfect. Oh, and they give you a card if you buy 10 meals you get 1 free. I’m definitely coming back to try their chicken and fish kabobs.

I got takeout from this place on a weekday. The lady helping me was very friendly, and recommended the lamb shishkabob as they were out of the beef. I got a chicken kabob and the lamb(which isn’t on the menu). The chicken was slightly burnt but otherwise dry and tasteless, the lamb wasn’t too bad but there was almost no salt on it. The rice was really really dry and flavorless. Did not enjoy my meal at all. Probably will not visit this place again. The food’s overpriced for the quality you get.

This is a cute little hole in the wall with excellent persian food. Not alot of seating, but very good for take out. I recommend the Chicken Kabob.
