Great ambiance delicious food good service. Appetizer was flaming meat balls that got everyone’s attention! I had a succulent filet mignon great on flavour but short on size. My wife had the grilled prawns which was OK. We finished off with Choclate cake. My wife had the Merlot and I had the Shiraz. Both were good. Try it for yourselves!

Used my 2nd Groupon here. The food is still great! We arrived at 6 pm on Sunday. No one was here. We were the only ones. Service was super this time, as there is no one else! We ordered the calamari, and the asparagus this time. Both came out hot and taste great. This time the appetizers came before the entrees, so that was nice. Entrees we have the Filet Mignon, Scallops, Lamb chops and Cioppino. The filet mignon and the lamb chops are cooked exactly as we requested for(medium). All the servers took one plate and serve us at the same time, that was wonderful. Our water cups were refilled often. About half hour later at 6:30 pm, other people started coming in and by the time we left, there are 5 more tables. Service today is very good, and I think because the«owner» or «manager» isn’t here, the servers seem more relaxed! The server just charged me 18% tips this time, I think she’s a little embarrassed about asking for a tip that was mandatory b/c of the Groupon. I didn’t make her feel bad, just say«yes, yes». It really wasn’t her fault. I don’t know if I would revisit for sure, since the price is high. However, if you can pay for it without the Groupon, I would recommend this place. The food is really good.

I used to love Thea’s the food was good and the hookah was good, after over a year of not going there I decided to go check it out today. I know I’m a Hookah snob but their hookah was absolutely disgusting(especially considering it’s $ 31). My sister got home and threw up everything we ate. They fry everything to a cinder bc I think everything is frozen — nothing is fresh. They should be ashamed for selling the food they sell, and it’s all so expensive too. Thea’s — never again.

ONLYEMPTYRESTAURANTIN A CROWDEDSANTANAROWSATNIGHTFOR A REASON. You’ll walk in & pay for a stomach ache that you’ll be so grateful to throw up an hour later. The forced 1 star could go towards the nice waiter, other than that, I’d rate this a –5 if I could.

Just got back from lunch. We have been going to place for a very long time. This time the food experience was horrific at best. We ordered the lunch special with lamb gyro. The meat was dry and no taste at all. It was like the shavings of a shoe sole. We sent it back. The replacement was identical but drenched in oil. Very disappointed. The hostess mentioned change of chef. Change for sure. Will never go back again.

Sunday afternoon, Santana Row crowded, this place empty. Food so so, just 2 stars, additional star for good service. Fritto Misto — calamari not so bad. I wish there were no artichokes! Chicken souvlaki — poorly made, large pieces of chicken, rice with raisins and red onion salad. It sounds good, but it is tasteless. Tzatziki sauce on the side was not«wow«either. Water with a slice of cucumber served was the highlight !! Nice sitting outside, comfortable cushion and pillows. If you can’t find a spot to eat in a busy Santana Row, I am sure this place will have plenty of seats available.

Food was excellent! We got the chicken and lamb souvlaki platters and mixed cocktails. Drinks were very tasty too. Mind you, the food is about pricier than other restaurants around but worth it.

Service was soooo slow. About 10 tables occupied on a Wednesday night and it took us 2.5 hours to get the bottle of wine, sampler appetizer and a salad. There were 3 waiters in the place and they switch 2 times our waiter. For the price and the food I will go somewhere else to get Greek food.

Service was just ok for their being only 4 tables occupied in which all had been served except ours. We had a flying friend that kept joining us at the table. Nat’s are never a nice thing to see around while eating dinner. The signature dish Opa was out and one of the soups was told it was a busy day. Came in with a Groupon that I had recently purchased for an appetizer, two main dish and two glasses of wine. We asked for the filet mignon to be cooked medium rare but it came out almost rare. Which after waiting for the server/manager to come and ask if everything ok took the filet mignon back and had it re cooked which was then cooked well done. Not a fan service and food quality has really gone down. I used to love coming here as a treat to Mediterranean food. On a good note the hummus was the best part of the dinner

Happy Hours are great. Food are delicious and Fresh. No need to wait in long lines of table prior to you. Happy Hour menus Prices are 50% of from their traditional menu. Food still superb and awesome services. Well dedicated staff. On sideline their bar staff can get flirty with one another. Gets pretty loud, I’m sitting pretty close to their far end of diner. But their Music pretty much suppress 90% of staff noise. Overall recommended for their Happy Hour Menu

We had the lunch special. Nothing special. The tomato soup was just okay, warm not hot. The meat lacked flavor. The service was good and deco very nice. The garlic fries were very good. Overall the lunch was expensive and small portions.

Be on time else you will miss the belly dancer. That’s definitely a highlight. Top notch service. Our server was very attentive and helped us choose our dishes. High ceilings and great décor but the tables could use some additional decoration. Candles looked quite pretty but they were not lit up. Jeweled lanterns and decorated in house olive tree add to the great ambience. Appetizers: Tried Pikilia — Hummus, tzatziki, htipiti, melitzanosalata, paprika with pita bread. Decent and enough for 2 to share. Entrée: Chicken souvlaki was perfectly roasted and all the sides were finger licking good. Salmon Roulade was beyond compare. Crispy and a little tangy due to the lemon yogurt sauce. Perfectly balanced flavors. Must recommended if you are a sea food lover. Food cost: 110 $ with 2 glasses of wine. Will I be back again? Hell ya!

Upscale location for great belly dancing entertainment and a decent ambiance for horribly tasting over priced food! The diner plate portions are a lot smaller compared to other better Greek food restaurants. I tried my favorite Moussaka, however the salty flavor overwhelmed the minimal amount of Lamb & Beef. The Tavuk Sarma(Roasted Chicken) was nothing extraordinary either-bland-no flavor! We left very disappointed and two hours later got diarrhea!

The food here is excellent. A bit disappointed there were no dates, but a little extra Tzatziki made up for it. The spanikopita is delicious… the creamy textured filling against the crispy layers of phyllo is so good. Hummus had a very smooth and delicate texture. The arancini balls were TOOSPICY for our taste and almost ruined the entire meal, but luckily the risotto filling inside compensated adequately. The dolmas were also prepared well… tasty filling, not too much leaf! I’m not sure why this place is always so sparse on customers; the interior is exquisitely decorated. There were some kind of food photographers taking pictures of the various dishes! We like going here because of the food, the ambiance and the location. We’ll go back. Ditch the TVs!!!

This rating is an average of the various elements of Thea’s, some of which are incredible, some of which are not. Ultimately, the overall feel I had leaving this restaurant was«okay», and warrants 3 stars. But that is, of course, based on my subjective weighing of value from my experience. Here’s a more thorough explanation of various elements. 1) Service: 5⁄5 Our server was Mihaela and she was incredible. Very knowledgable about the menu. Helped point out various choices(and correct pronunciations) she noticed I was checking in on Unilocal and offered me the Saganaki Opa before I even realized there was a Unilocal offer for one! Just for checking in! I’ve seen Unilocal Coupons/Offers before, but they’re usually mired with unfortunate loop holes or requirements. This one was a free dish, any time, any day. So thank you to Mihaela for making that painless. She asked us if we were in a rush or wanted a more authentic experience. My date and I weren’t in a hurry so she brought us our food with perfect tempo. Water glasses were refilled briskly(I drink tons of water at restaurants so this is a very big deal to me). And she checked in appropriately often, without being intrusive. A+ for her. 2) Food: 4⁄5 This category, in and of itself, could be multiple categories so I’ll try to explain it the best I can. The flavors were incredible! We ordered Greek fries, Saganaki Opa, the Chicken Souvlaki, and the Tavuk Sarma. The Greek fries were to die for. Not overly fried, feta cheese on top with some delicious herb and aromatics for flavor. The dipping sauce was excellent too. There was, however, A pool of oil towards the bottom of the bowl, saturating some of the fries and making them soggy. The Tavuk Sarma was very tasty. The chicken was moist and the seasoning was great. My only complaint for the dish was that the sides accompanying the chicken were just boiled vegetables with no flavoring and some rice. The rice was cooked well… Everything was cooked well, the chef is very talented. But as far as this dish was concerned, much of the contents of the plate could be made at home with little other than salt and a pot of boiling water. Again, though, to reemphasize, the chicken was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. Chicken Souvlaki, quite the opposite experience of the previous dish. The chicken was very dry, and overcooked. There wasn’t a whole lot of seasoning on it(though that’s kind of the point). But on the other hand, the sides that accompanied the chicken were delicious. The yogurt sauce was divine. The sautéed red onions were fantastic. The tabbouleh was fresh and aromatic without being too dry. And the pita is fantastic. You could make mini gyros out of the pita slices, a cut of the chicken, a sprinkle of onions and a dab of yogurt sauce. Overall a VERY tasty dish despite the unfortunate state of the chicken. The saganaki was a great addition. They flambé the cheese right in front of you and leave it with you, sizzling on the fajita-esque plate. The cheese was tasty, but it didn’t come with any pita or anything. And while it was delicious, I’m not personally fond of eating cheese by itself with a fork. They eventually brought us some pita as our appetizers arrived.(Fun fact: Layering a cut of saganaki over the greek fries is delicious!) Ultimately, the food had great flavor, but in general maybe a little too much oil for my liking(even for an authentic Mediterranean, it was a little too much). The chicken could have been more consistent. But the use of aromatics and herbs to bring out flavor was one if the best I’ve seen in a restaurant in years. 3) Price: 2⁄5 You get what you pay for. But in this case maybe a little less than you pay for. We came for dinner, having seen the menu online and anticipating we would pay approximately $ 16 for an entrée. Which seemed incredibly reasonable. Now either that was a lunch menu, and the pricing is different for dinner, or the prices have increased and have not reflected as such on the Internet. Either way, we paid $ 24 per entrée(which were lower end of the price spectrum by comparison to other available dishes) and $ 11 for the bowl of fries. I’m always prepared to spend more for high-quality and authentic cuisine. But if I’m being honest, I don’t think the dishes were worth that amount. And by comparison to other food options in the Santana Row area, I think you can get more food, of equal quality, and spend $ 5 – 8 less per plate. Atmosphere: 3⁄5 It was nice. Adequate lighting for most. Maybe a little dim for me because I like to take a lot of pictures and don’t appreciate having to bother others with the flash feature on my phone. There was a scenic tree in the restaurant. I left still unable to decide if it was real or fake. A cool assortment of colored bottles behind the bar, and a few mood candles and light fixtures. Nothing outrageous. Nothing gaudy. Simple. Not overstated, but not really that special. Overall. It’s a nice place. Deserving of 3 stars.

Great ambience and a good selection of wines. However, I dined here with a group of friends and the food took 45 minutes to come(they weren’t busy) and it was small portions. I had the moussaka, which was alright. I’d give it a 4⁄5 and a friend got scallops which only came with 3 scallops and the rest of her plate was full of potatoes. Our bill was $ 270 for 5 plates and 1 wine and I was still hungry when we left. Long story short– don’t come here hungry or if you want great value. Too bad I am a sucker for the décor and mood lighting :-)
