For many years especially as a kid this was my favorite restaurant, not just Mexican food but all time favorite. The salsa has tasted the same forever, please note though this is not my favorite location. This place is a little dirty compared to the others, however the food is pretty consistent in taste over all of them, I just think this place uses a little more salt that the others. So in the pictures you see the carne asada plate that comes with your choice of tortillas and a cheese enchilada. The enchilada was lacking sauce so it was kind of cheese with cheese melted on top, and the meat was good but a little fatty and over cooked. He ordered the enchiladas suiza, and the green sauce was so limey it was almost bitter and super salty. The mango margarita was good however.

I’ve had nearly EVERYTHING off the menu– My favorites are definitely 1) carnitas plate(good carnitas, tortillas, salsa fresca and beans) 2) healthier rice bowls with either pollo asado(chicken), carne asada, or carnitas(heaping pile of rice, black beans, queso fresco, pico/guac, a good amount of meat/protein and your choice of tortillas… To make your own mini-burritos. ***taste really good, and healthier!*** 3) Fajitas(popping hot with yummy marinated chicken, carne or shrimp) 4) Enchiladas and Chile Rellenos(pretty yummy, smothered in red sauce and cheeseeeeeee) Great Happy Hour(appetizers, daily drink specials, and smaller food portions but cheaper prices ***1(instead of 2 tamales with the same portion of beans and rice… But you can’t beat that for $ 7ish*** in the Bar. Unbelievably hot chips and freshly made salsa(not some tomato-based crap, or watered down mess like some other places!) Staff is friendly, but it can get hectic sometimes at night when there’s a LOT of people there!!! My family has been coming here since I was a LITTLE kid(7 or so years old). Now I bring my children!!! GREATPLACE… MUSTTRY!!!

While on vacation we looked for the closest Mexican Restaurant to our hotel, and saw yours. Wow, what a treat. The plates arrived quickly, after being taken care of by your excellent staff members. I thought I was gonna need to be carried out, there was so much food. I observed your team as they worked, and everyone was constantly moving, ask people for their needs or wants. I haven’t seen that in a long time. They all worked together, and were very professional, and patient with everyone. I hope I tipped enough. When we come back down to San Diego, I will definitely go out of my way just to eat at your Place again. Keep that team no matter what. We dined on Saturday night, about 6pm, on 11/21/2015. Thank you for a great dining experience. Mr. and Mrs. Waters from VENTURA, CA.

Well… Where do I even begin?! My best friend and I went here for taco Tuesday and left very disappointed! We didn’t even want to pay the bill! The tacos were disgusting! We ordered chicken tacos and they had zero flavor and were served in paper bowls! The margaritas were gross!(Who doesn’t like a margarita…) On top of that we found a baby cockroach on the table!!! We will never go back! I do not recommend this place!

This is one of our favorite Mexican food restaurants in SD. We’ve been to all 3 locations and really enjoy the food here. Specifically, we get various combinations of cheese enchiladas, chile rellenos, and beef tacos. With rice and beans, of course. We really like the red enchilada sauce. It’s a good balance between tangy and«tomatoey». The beef tacos are well-stuffed and he meat is good(not gamey). My wife really likes the chile rellenos but I can’t give you any more details than that. The chips are freshly fried. The salsa is decent(a 3 out of 5 for me) Service is friendly and the prices decent for an excellent meal. 5 stars, recommended.
