Plants Comprehensive Horticulture & Landscape

Scott did extensive work on all sides of my yard, much of it drought-​tolerant landscaping. He was very helpful in filling out forms for the rebate requests through the water company and coordinating his schedule with their inspection requirements. Most of all, Scott has a phenomenal knowledge of plant varieties and how they will work in different parts of the yard. All the botanical names just roll off his tongue like it’s second-​nature. Everything he has put in is growing very well and is beautiful to look at. I followed his many suggestions and am glad I did. He kept in close communication with me on his arrival times, which sometimes had to change but were always convenient to me. Scott is my go-​to guy for any future landscaping needs I ever have. Very highly recommend!

I do not recommend Scott. He waisted my time. I changed my schedule to accomodate him and he waisted my opportunites to arrange for another landscaper help me. Scott showed disregard for my resources and efforts. The situation: I wanted Scott to stake my tree. We made plans the evening before. He said he would arrive mid day, leaving me waiting for his arrival. I phoned Scott at mid day to get an idea about his arrival time, he said he couldn’t do the job because I was out of his geographic range. He didn’t know my address as I hadn’t given it to him yet. He said he thought I was from Poway because that is what my phone showed. I do not live in Poway. Once I told him I was closer to his origin point, he still said he couldn’t make it and basicly hung up on me. I think all this could have been prevented if he knew his limits. You see, he origonally said he would charge me his bottom rate. After sleeping on it, perhaps he became disinterested in my project for the ‘bottom’ rate. I would say to Scott, be honest with yourself, and be honest with your potential customers. Perhaps his behavior is a reflection of why he doesn’t have an abundance or Unilocal ratings.

I recommend Scott Jones without reservation. I had had Scott prune my trees about 18 months ago, and I knew I could trust him. He had done a phenomenal job then for a reasonable price. He knows how to prune trees for shape, for productivity, for health, and for vigor. He is the real deal. He can even do fancy grafting if you want. He will never come out and chop and top a tree.
This fall I needed about 12 small trees on my property pruned. Some were fruit trees, some ornamental. Scott is extremely professional. He arrived to give me an estimate when he said he would and then returned to do the job when he said he would. He listened carefully to what I wanted the trees to look like and grow, and we discussed various approaches. The trees are now cut back, and they look as though they will grow how we discussed.
He is also a landscaper and an expert on plants. He gave me a bunch of free advice on my plants and made some good recommendations for additional plants in my landscape. I learned a lot talking to him.
