John Burke came highly recommended by a local bed and breakfast owner who had used him for several jobs on her properties. He also got rave reviews from three other past clients I spoke with. Two of which are architects. I was invited to see one of his BA remodels by one of them. It is immaculate. Initially, I was looking for a bathroom remodel on my small 1930’s Hillcrest home. When John came to look things over we went down into the crawl space. There he noticed my original sand and rock foundation and commented there was a way to preserve it and stop it from crumbling by coating it with a special material that has a vertical hardening property. In fact, I had been concerned about this for years, John’s explanation and solution made sense. I jumped at the opportunity to do something which didn’t involve pouring a new foundation. In addition, it seemed like a good project to start with before launching into the BA projects. John and his workers Roger and Kelly came through. They were on time, always courteous, took pride in their work and cleaned up before they left each afternoon. John listens and comes up with knowledgeable suggestions. He finished the job on time and came in well within the range of his original estimate. John genuinely likes old homes and knows his way around the quirks. I plan to use him to put in a BA with a shower downstairs and remodel the existing small BA upstairs.

I had termite damaged beams under my deck that needed to be repaired and/or replaced. John Burke was one of 3 general contractors referred to me by Dixieline on Sports Arena. I texted him photos of termite damaged beams, to which he responded, was his specialty! After I verified his construction license, and called on his references, I hired him. His proposed solution made a lot more sense and quite a bit less drastic. I normally would’ve preferred fixed fee for a job, but agreed to his time and material cost proposal because I thought it was fair and reasonable. His workers Roger and Dino were quite pleasant and kept the work area clean. They did an excellent job, matching repaired wood with existing. John gave me helpful tips to help prevent future termite infestations. I was happy to find a good construction company whose owner John is committed to providing value-added quality work at a reasonable price. I definitely will call on John again for any construction projects and any termite damage repair in the future. I highly recommend him.

I have used John Burke for all my home projects from a simple plumbing problem to a complete kitchen remodel. He is efficient and helpful. sometimes it may be more efficient to do a job by someone else and john let me know that. My satisfaction and a good job was all he cared about.

We actually found John Burke Construction(JBC) through one of his sub contractors who had been recommended by a friend. After doing our due diligence which included verifying his license, speaking at great length to John C.(see his post) about the work he had done at his home and going to a job site that Burke Construction was working on at the time we hired JBC. We can’t possibly improve upon John C.‘s comments as they are all true and spot on. My husband and I are very happy with the work we had done which consisted of electrical work, gutting and remodeling the kitchen and 2 bathrooms, tile work throughout. paint, and rebuilding our patio cover. At John’s suggestion we also had the ceilings and walls replastered. What a huge difference it made and the cost was minimal. We are also very appreciative of John Burke’s ability to keep us on budget. We intend to hire John and his crew again for a rental property we have.
