Hair & Nail Delight

I came here for the first time today to get a pedicure. Lana was very sweet. She gave a great massage and did a lovely job on my pedicure. I made an appointment before coming in. Because this is a small shop, I will probably call ahead when I come back.

I have had my eyebrows waxed at different locations in La Jolla and Mira Mesa and I found that more money does not buy you better service. Lana did an impeccable job with the eyebrows and face wax! My skin is extremely sensitive and can break-​out if the wax is too hot or if the strips are yanked too hard, but she did a delicate job with perfection.
Hair cut was good, though I did not go for any of the fancy or elaborate styles. So if someone is looking for a nice clean trim or re-​shaping, definitely worth a try.
The place is clean and airy. Lana is quite friendly and always asks about your preferences and comfort.
The only thing to remember is that you need to call ahead since Lana does most of the work herself.

Fail… This is the 2^nd location I actually walked in since the other ones reviews were too terrible to bother. And it seems this spot also only has 1 PERSON WORKING ON A FRIDAY AT 3PM!!! Super annoyed and I’m giving up for the day. Seriously how do these businesses run??? Ugh

Lana was great! She is a very kind lady and she did a great job with my nails. It was my first time coming in and I gotta say, I finally found a place to go to on a regular basis! I recommend hair and nail delight! Make an appt to see Lana, she’s the BEST! THANK YOU AGAIN LANA! I’ll be seeing you in 2 weeks!

Best pedicure I’ve ever had (I live in NYC, so that speaks volumes). Lana is so through, she took her time. She is a one-​stop shop & did an AMAZING job on my toes and gave me the best eyebrow wax. She cuts my mom’s hair and does amazing color too. I will be back for certain for Lana!

Came to shop for haircut first time… Lana gimme great haircut and now im gonna starts coming back every 2 weeks… oh yeah great price and great customer service.

It has truly been years since I had my nails done! I phoned ahead of time to make an appointment. The first thing I noticed was how REVAMPED this place is! The store looks incredible! As usual, it was clean and tidy! Soothing music was being played, which is a new addition since my last visit. They have sooo many colors of nail polish out on display. An additional spa chair had been added to the salon as well.
Lana did my nails, (full set with gel on top for $ 35!) Lana was so CAREFUL and paid ATTENTION TO DETAIL. She really listened to what you wanted, and did not try to up-​sell at all. Lana was very considerate and asked me if I liked the shape of my nails. She did not rush and kept great conversation with me. Lana’s customer service was top notch, ¹⁰⁄₁₀. As a gal who is susceptible to burning, I pulled out a bottle of sunscreen and Lana was so kind to apply the sunscreen to my hands for me before going under the UV lamp to cure the gel!
My nails turned out fabulously — the color and shape were exactly what I wanted. The service at this salon is far superior than the other salons in Mira Mesa. If you are annoyed by constantly being asked to upgrade services and want excellent, QUALITY work, you must ditch those other places and come to this salon! Lana and Lucy are very skilled and their work is marvelous!
Lana showed me this hair serum they sell at the store and it is unlike any other I’ve tried. (I’ve tried all kind from Moroccan oil, to Paul Mitchell and beyond) With just a pea size amount, it made my thick, dry hair so soft and smooth without a greasy feeling.
TIP: Be sure to phone the salon and make an appointment. You can be sure they will accommodate you if you walk-​in, but it is more convenient to make an appointment.

I’ve never been one to spend a lot of money on haircuts. I’ve grown up on $ 12 haircuts from Asian salons my entire life. I have had fancier/​pricier haircuts and have always had buyer’s remorse afterwards. To be honest, aside from fancier looking chairs and mirrors, I don’t see a difference. I’m obsessed with the fresh cut hair so and would get haircuts once a month when I was a a young student which is probably why my hair grows quickly.
I really like this salon and have been back 3 – 4 times. As the previous reviewers have said, this place is very «humble.» What matters to me is the person cutting my hair and the cleanliness of the establishment. The salon is fairly small. It’s very clean and there is plenty of parking. There’s usually only one or two people working. However, if I’m correct, all the ladies working here live in the area. If you happen to walk in, they may call for one of their co-​workers to come in to help you. This is how I met Lana. I think that’s a really nice gesture and will of course help with business.
Lana is the only person who has cut my hair and waxed my eyebrows. She’s very nice and hardworking. She keeps an excellent conversation and offers great suggestions. I’ve also had a spa pedicure here from another lady but I can’t recall her name. One other thing I really like about all of my experiences here is that I’ve never felt pressured to pay for extra treatments or buy extra products.

Love, love, love it! As the other reviewer mentioned, the place looks very «humble,» but Lucy is fantastic, super sweet, and very thorough! She really took her time for both my nails and my pedi and did an awesome job. The prices are very reasonable too, which is a major plus. I’d definitely recommend making an appointment since it’s a small staffed shop. Also, some folks might think she works slowly, but I really feel like she was focusing on doing a great job, and I’d much rather have slower/​steadier than the ones who get you out the door in 5 minutes with jacked up nails. :) I’ll definitely be going back to Lucy from here on out.
