First time here to get my hair did! very clean salon, professional and listen to their clients. My stylist/​colorist did my hair perfect and I will most definitely be returning to get my hair done to this salon.

See Lee! Oh my word she is amazing. I have never had a more kind and affordable hair stylist. I promise you, you will be so glad you did!

So I called to get an appt. No problem. Asked for a price estimate. Was told $ 19 for the cut and $ 29 for the color. Great right? Ready for me when I got there. We discussed length and color and thought we had an understanding. 1^st problem was «short in the back and angled to longer in the front» translated to «short in the back and even to it in the front».oh well it will grow out. 2^nd problem when finished the cost was amazingly $ 80 last time I checked that is not total of 19+29. Oh well its done just gotta pay. 3^rd problem it’s been a week and now my roots are turning orange!!! it wasn’t like this when I left the shop so you would think they would want to see what happened so I called. 4^th problem — her answer was sorry you asked to have it not too dark but if you want to come back in we can charge you to fix it. WOW! So getting an appt + great, getting what you asked for — fail, standing behind a price quote — fail, customer service — fail, standing behind their product/​service — fail. So if you’re happy to just get in the door, this place is for you — any other expectations — YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Is there a lower star rating I can give this establishment. I parked my car in the handicapped space which I have a right to do. Tag visible in my window but probably because of my «age» the receptionist had to come out and check to see if I in fact did have a right to park there. RUDEST THING YOU CAN DO TO A DISABLED PERSON. How prejudice can you be??? Unbelievable! You have no right, you are not the Parking lot police. None of your business at all!

Wonderful salon! Friendly knowledgeable stylists make you feel at home, and Tam has been doing my nails since 1992. For me there is no other place!

I have always pass by this place whenever I am in the area but truly did not pay too much attention to it before. However, when my stylist Rose Nguyen transferred here, I obviously followed her and what a nice change of scenery I should say. I will keep on going back to Rose for all my hair cuts and color needs regardless of the salon she is at but Colorations is really nice compared to other neighboring salons in the area. It has adequate floor space so it doesn’t feel so congested inside. Staff are nice and the salon is bright, clean, and inviting! No hideous posters on the salon glass windows which I really like! Overall the salon space is really great! They offer nail and facial/​body services too. Going back to my ever so talented stylist Rose Nguyen, I have been seeing her for a year now and am completely happy and satisfied. She is detail oriented with her work, personable, and looks out for her clients overall being without overstepping her limits or being too personal. She simply is the best, so I truly recommend her to anyone who is in search of an awesome stylist!

I stopped in for a possible walk in appointment on a Friday afternoon at 4pm. Not an easy way to get in I thought but I was pleasantly surprised that they could accommodate my request and a two hours later I had a really nice color job with beautiful high-​lights and a trim. Nijiya did a wonderful job and I now know where I’ll be going routinely for my hair care needs!

I can’t say enough GREAT things about Colorations! Julie has cut my hair forever. I have followed them to two different locations and have never been disappointed. Their prices are very fair and feel I can call them «friends». My two daughters go there too and my sister-​in-​law always ask me to book an appointment w/​Julie when she is in town too. When I have my nails done, I always ask for Tam. You really can’t go wrong with this place. I have referred a lot of friends to them too.

I really needed to get my nails done for the weekend but the place I normally go to closed at 7. I got out kinda late from work so I hit Unilocal to see what was still open. I’ve been trying to find another place closer to home because I don’t like to drive so far. I called them to see if I could come in and they said no. Too bad, they just lost the opportunity for my business.

I just moved to San Diego a week ago and finding a hair salon was really hard. I have a really hard time trusting people with my hair because it is so easy to mess up on blonde hair. I came in early and they squeezed me
in before my hair apt so I could get my nails done. They turned out really good but they do not have very many shellac colors to choose from but it only cost $ 25 for a fill and shellac color so no complaints there! After I got my hair done I was very pleased with my color and the way they blended it together. My hair only cost $ 60 for all over blonde root touch up. I would of liked more product in my hair so that it felt more smooth but you can’t complain for paying 60 bucks for blonde hair in San Diego. I’m from Portland, Oregon where my hair cost at least 120 because it’s so thick. They were all so nice and friendly so I would definitely recommend going there.

I have been getting my nails done at Colorations by Tam for 18 years. I would never consider going anywhere else! I have also had my hair done numerous times by the stylists and they all do an amazing job! A friendly fun place to go enjoy yourself while you are being pampered. They also have such reasonable prices, they can’t be beat.

I love this salon, I have been having my nails done by Tam for over 24 years. I’ve had my hair cut and colored and never a problem. I would never go anywhere else. The shop is very clean, everyone is friendly, I always receive GREAT service. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

I brought my 2-​year-​old here for a haircut and she loved it. They did a great job washing her hair, which she usually hates, and they have the cutest kid’s smocks. They also listened and cut her hair just the way I like. Very friendly and excellent service!

I went here for the first time last month. I needed a quick haircut and the place was great. I was 4^th in line, but I only waited 5 minutes. The person who cut my hair asked me what type of cut I wanted and then offered me a free wash for being a first time customer. The cut looked good and the person didn’t mind that I asked them to cut the back a little shorter. I will go back now that I found a place to get my haircut in Mira Mesa (I had gone to a place in Black Mountain whenever I was in San Diego, but this place is a lot closer).
