Ivy Hair Salon

I’ve been coming to this salon since it changed ownership. The owner is Vy and she’s my cousin. She used to cut my kid’s hair at our house when she worked at another salon. Now she took ownership of a salon and has hired her own stylists. She’s super sweet. What you’ll notice is that no matter how busy she is, she never rushes through your haircut or service. She takes her time with you and does a meticulous job. She works hard and long hours! I had my hair colored, legs waxed and nails done here. The prices are great and there has not been a problem finding parking. It’s a huge lot shared by Big Lots and others little stores. I would suggest you schedule an appointment if you want to get Vy. She’s usually helping someone. Walk ins are welcome too if you don’t mind having the next available stylist.

This place is awesome! I went here yesterday for the first time base on Unilocal reviews. I needed to get my hair & nails done and Vy did a fantastic with my hair it looks so healthy again. Mimi did my nails and Im I love with them! I loved the place so much I went there again today for pedi and took my boys for a cut 1&5 Mimi did my pedi of course and my one year olds haircut and he didn’t even cry, what?!? That’s the first and also the first time they got the cut we wanted! He looks so adorbs! Kim did my brows and lips and my 5yr old cut/​line up and it’s great. Everything is awesome. This is my new go-​to place for everything! And you can beat the price! Even my husband was like, I’m going here next time.

Been going to Ivy since they opened. They do a great job! Vy cuts my hair, but Dana has cut my hair also in the past. They both do really good job! Thanks ladies.

Wanted to get a healthy trim and not have to pay an arm and a leg at a fancy salon. Found Ivy Salon on Unilocal and I’m glad I did! Made a same day appointment. Was in and out within 20 – 30 minutes. It was quick, painless, and everyone there was very welcoming and friendly. The salon itself was very clean and not crazy out of date like most Asian salons. Mimi cut my hair and did a fantastic job. Can’t beat their prices and quality. Been to other Asian salons in Mira Mesa and by far this is the best one I’ve been to. Thanks Mimi!

Vy has cut my husband’s hair for over 5 years and always does a great job. A couple of years ago when complaining about the high price of my hair cuts and weaves he suggested I try Vy. He said he’d seen her doing some great cuts and colors on women. I was hesitant at first because I thought it was a barbershop, but went for it and am so happy I did. I’ve followed her to 2 salons and am so happy that she has her own place now! It’s clean and convenient and she makes her self available so I never have an issue getting an appointment. Vy always cuts my hair how I request. She spends lots of time and always makes me feel most important. She may be busy at times… but never acts rushed, always giving me her full attention. She’s happy to give suggestions when I ask her and she does the highest quality weave I’ve ever had. My hair cuts last a long time. That’s a sign of a good cut! I like how she gives me tips on styling it too. All this and a price that I can afford. I will remain a loyal client :). I’ve referred my friends and now they’re regulars too. BTW… The shop is full of friendly people who really care about what they do. I’ve never had anyone else cut my hair but have seen Dana and others do darling cuts and colors too!

Beyond happy with Ivy Hair Salon. Went in on a whim very nervous about trying a new place but after doing my own hair trying to save money the past year I decided I had to have a change THAT DAY so I went to my trusty Unilocal app and found a place near by. Based on reviews this place is new but everyone had great things to say about it so I decided to take a leap and just do it. I decided while sitting there nervously that the worst thing that could happen is I have to fix any damage but I left feeling and looking fabulous if I do say so myself. So while waiting for my hair to process they asked if I would like to have a mani/​pedi and I jumped at the opportunity! My pedi was done perfect (I am almost never happy with pedicures because I feel like I can do better myself) but Tammy was very detailed. I started off with Dani doing my hair and ended with Vy both who were so friendly and professional. They all speak another language which also made me a little nervous not to mention I am the WORST at trying to tell someone how I want my hair, it’s like I want them to magically figure out what the heck I am talking about & guess what? They did! I would highly recommend anyone to go here. They did get busy so I suggest call ahead I happen to get lucky and get in right when I called but several people did walk in and have to wait, I am sure due to all the time spent on my hair. I got color, highlights, cut, style and pedicure all for less than most pay for touch up and cut.

Excellent service all the time. I’ve known Ivy for couple of years now and she always do a great job. I brought my friend here today and she like the service too. Her new shop has a very friendly environment as well. Highly recommended.

Took my two boys for a haircut here today and Tammy was amazing! My sons are 18 months and 3 and she knew exactly when to cut the hair slowly and when to go fast (with my 18 month old). Both of them look great with their new cuts. Tammy was professional, precise and friendly. And the price for the haircut was perfect too — since they need their hair cut every month at least! Definitely my new hair cut place for my boys

So, I normally spend hundreds of dollars to color, cut, style my hair. I ran into a rough patch so I decided to cut some corners. Fast word me spending days finding a salon near where I live and reading through reviews I came across Ivy Salon in Mira Mesa. So I decided since I’m just getting a «trim» I would give it a shot.
Reviews I’ve read said to go to Vy so I set up a same day appointment with her. The location has lots of parking and it’s definitely one of those places you don’t want to judge by its «cover».
I walk in and show Vy a picture and BAM in less than an hour she cuts my hair and styles it to exactly what I wanted. She even showed me how to use a flat iron to curl my hair. This trip saved me SO much money and I will be coming back for a haircut again. I’m so relieved to have found an affordable place that does great work. Who needs those bourgeoise salons? Not this girl, not anymore!

Dana’s super friendly and funny! And when it comes to haircut… she is meticulous and professional.
I think I have finally found my go to haircut place in San Diego after moving here from East Coast.

They are such an amazing group of ladies. Came here for the first time to get a cut, color, and layer. I don’t remember who did my hair, but she did an amazing job!
My husband goes back every week for his hair cuts, and they do a perfect job! Definitely, we will be reoccurring customers!

Walked in today for a hair cut without an appointment. Slight wait on a Sunday afternoon but not too long. Maybe 15 mins? Dana is very enthusiastic, friendly, and puts her heart in her effort to give clients a great haircut. I came in because I read the other Unilocal reviews and how they specialize in Asian hair. I am very pleased with my wash, haircut, and styling. Also, the price was very reasonable at $ 22. The salon also offers a large variety of services. I plan to return for future haircuts.

So, I walked in around 6pm, needed coloring. I knew it’s gonna take time, yet they said YES Even the store closes 6:30pm, Vy worked on my hair till 7:30pm, till finished! No rushing. TRUE «PROFESSIONALISM»!! I DEF come BACK

I would give 6 stars if I could! I stopped in here solely based on Unilocal reviews and because my normal hair dresser is on vacation. I was late to my appointment with Vy but she took me in as soon as she was able to :) I told her what I wanted but she also made very good suggestions for my new hairstyle. Like any new haircut of course I was nervous but Vy did an amazing job at an amazing price! She took her time with my hair and even showed me how to curl my hair with a straightener.
Towards the end I asked her about the gel manicure and pedi (prices were great). Mimi was also available to do my nails so I went ahead and got them done! It was my first time doing a gel manicure. Mimi is also amazing and very friendly, she made me laugh several times. It was a day full of pampering. I was the only one in the salon so I felt super spoiled and again they took their time with everything. I tend to be a very picky person when it comes to hair and nails but this salon has gained another regular customer! Vy also added a flower design for free on my toes :)
I recommend calling to make an appointment and weekdays are the best time to go! Thank you Vy and Mimi, I’ll be coming back very soon

Vy has been our hair stylist for 6 – 7 years now. She opened her own salon and she’s doing a great job of it. The prices are unbeatable. Service is good. They might be really busy but they will never rush their work on hand. They always give you the due time. Atmosphere is always upbeat.

Ivy Hair Salon is a rare find in a place that is entirely new to me. Vy’s cut is way worth more than what she charges. I’m glad My sister recommended her and now she’s the only hair stylist I go to. She gives honest advice on the treatments that I should do to my hair without up-​selling for other services. Congratulations on now being on your own and I hope many more clients will discover your magic touch!

This salon is under new management. Vy has been cutting my hair for years now and she never disappoints. She takes time doing my haircut and make sure that my hair is always on pointt! Ive gotten alot of complements about my hair and i would always recommend to give Vy a try and theyre always grateful and happy about the results!
The salon is very clean and organized. Her assistant Mimi is also a very good stylist that i see her customers get out of the salon very pleased! Plus they are very friendly people with excellent customer service
I wouldnt trust anyone to cut my hair but Vy, that eventhough i no longer live in Mira mesa, I dont mind the long drive as long as i get the haircut that I want. I mean its my hair! Duhh hahaha!

I live in Orange County. I came all the way to San Diego to Ivy Hair salon after seeing what a great job Mimi had done with my sister hair. My sister is a regular at Ivy Hair Salon. Mimi is so friendly and talented. I got a hair cut, color & highlights and am very happy with the outcome!
