Farida is like family to me. She has been cutting my hair for over 20 years, and I’m only 31 haha. I’ll never go anywhere else.

So I’m a natural blonde and dyed my hair a terrible box color brown (I know, I know, huge mistake) and I was looking to get it fixed after a month. I called here based on Unilocal reviews and Kim answered the phone, I asked if it were possible that I come the same day some time and she told me to come in right then! I went in and told her exactly what I wanted no pictures or anything, and it is EXACTLY what I got and more. I told her I wanted all over highlights and side bangs, with a trim on my dead ends. A total of $ 105.00. She told me to come back in 3 months to touch up my roots and gave me her card. I will definitely be going back to her, she was so sweet and knew exactly what she was doing! I feel so so much better after seeing her and couldn’t thank her enough!

Worst place in the whole wide world. Rude Racist owner. Will make faces when you enter. Will make sure you feel bad when you get in his shop as if he is doing a big favor on all of us.
The hair dresser should be fired from her job. She just ruined my mood.
1. Didn’t clean the chair after she was done with the client. When I told her it was dirty she acted cleaning it but it was still dirty. I had to finally clean it myself
2. She made faces looking at my hair. And said OH NO Your hair are SO thick and so long.
3. You are not lying properly have you never done eyebrows in your life?
4. She was pulling on my hair like she was very mad at something.

Danny is the best. I text him before I go and he tells me if it’s busy. He kept the place open late for me tonight — service is amazing! He is courteous, kind and attentive. Remembers my cut and does it well every time. What more can I ask for!

Just moved to Mira Mesa and wanted a place to get a haircut. Made an appointment with Danny and arrived 10 minutes early. It looked like he had just sat down a customer, but I figured he’s just running a bit late, which is fine and understandable. During this time two more customers showed up also wanting Danny and sat down with me. More than half an hour after my appointment time, Danny came over, and pointed to the other two gentlemen that had sat down and suggested I go last after them? At this point I spoke up, mentioning that I actually had an appointment at 3:00. Fortunately he took me then and gave me a dry haircut, which came out mediocre. I asked him not to take off too much. The layers ended up looking uneven and the top layer is waaay shorter than the second layer (I have long hair). It just looks odd, but not terrible. Anyway so after he cut my hair he washed it, and then instead of blow drying it he sits me under the overhead hair dryer so he could take his other customers while I waited. He took the one guy, which I was a bit annoyed about but whatever. After he cut the one guy’s hair, I thought maybe he’ll return to me now and style my hair like he said he would, but no, he got the other customer to come. My hair is now beyond fully dry and the head lamp on my head is getting uncomfortably hot. Anyway, an hour and a half after my appointment should have started, I just got up and told him I had to get going. Paid for my cut and left. Don’t appreciate being put off so more customers can be taken when any other stylist would have done what they should have done: wash, cut, dry, style, DONE.

My main go to hair stylist is Danny. He cut my hair at another place before, but when he moved to Hair Works I started to go there too. Danny has always done a great job giving me a comb over. He lines up the sides well. He is careful and engaging to make sure that you are satisfied with your haircut. He is a cool and easy going person. At the end of the haircut, he bathes your hair with high quality shampoo and even gels your hair upon your request. There is nobody else out there that I trust with my hair. Thank you Danny you are the man!
Make sure to also ask him for his cell phone number so that you are aware of his availabilities and he will gladly let you know.

A really reasonable price for really great service. Just make sure you know what you want and the number of length and the style you want. I had Kim and she’s the kind of «get down to business» type.
Less «what do you think?» and more «clean shave, trim sideburns, longer on top, cut 2 inches.»
Give them clear instruction on what you want and they will do it spot on.

I give 5 stars for one reason!!! And danny is that reason! He has done my hair for 7 years and i will continue to have him do my hair until he retires i absolutely recommend him because he takes his time and he actually listens to you as his customer. He’s worth the $$$ and worth the tips! This is where I take my kids for their haircuts! He has taken care of my hair and if you know whats best you’ll want to have your hair done by Danny!

If I can give no star, I will not give one. The boss do the haircut hair, he is stupid and unprofessional. He keep asking how do u want I do here and there, how I know so details, he is the barber not me. And the manner is rude, he did not finish my haircut and let me go. Stupid shop, it ruin your hair and ruin your mood!!!

I ve been going to Vida for a while. It started with little work on my hair, because I am extremely picky «Not too short, not too long, little highlight not enough highlight». I am the costumer from hell :-) But I have to say, she is an artist. She can exactly see what matches your face and take into consideration your style. I consider myself simple but chic. She highlighted my hair and gave me a haircut last week –AMAZING.
She does my eyebrows regularly, it is as if she is drawing them –BEAUTIFUL.
You can go to her if you don’t know what style you want or you go to her if you exactly know what you want. She wont let you down. Beyond all, she is genuinely incredible human being that is hard to find. She will give her honest opinion and trust her on that, she is a real professional.

When I moved in to the Mira Mesa area I went to Hair Works. My friend suggested Danny the barber. Danny is talented and takes pride in his craft. Danny is skilled in multiple area, such as coloring, highlighting, and simple fades. Danny can cut any style from simple to difficult. Also, Danny takes appointments he is off Monday and Thursday.

Danny! He’s been doing my hair since I was in middle school and he is the only one i trust with my hair color. I came to him when I had an ombré done by someone else and my hair ended up being fried (sorry danny) and he fixed it with magic, lol. His prices are very affordable, he does a great job & he’s just amazing. You’re the best danny!

Went to get a quick trim today and it turned into a sloppy cut with what I think are layers. I have read good reviews about Tony but he must of had a bad day today. I asked for a trim and about 8 minutes later my hair was butchered. I am not a regular here but I think he just did what he thought would look better instead of what I asked for. I will not be going back.

Danny is the only person I trust with my hair. He’s amazing! Whatever style, color or cut you want, he will deliver 150%! He never disappoints. Pinky promise.

Before Danny moved here, I would’ve given the place 3 – 4 stars. But I’m going to give them 5 because Danny is so great.
I’ve been going to Danny since 2009 when he was at another salon in Mira Mesa. I never tell him what I want, he just somehow knows what to do. I’ve had him do my hair long, short, and in between. He’s amazing.
I even have most of my co-​workers going to him to get their hair done. His prices are fair and he will treat you right.

Came to San Diego from LA for a weekend trip. Needed a little pick me up so I said lets get a cut. Had no idea where I am was going or what I was doing. Can’t believe I got lucky enough to find Vida at Hair Works. Don’t know how I can manage a 2 hr drive from now on for haircuts. Thanks again Vida u nailed it. Best haircut of the year by far!

First off, I love Danny! He did an amazing job with my hair and I am super picky. I showed him pictures of how I wanted it and it couldn’t have came out better. He reassured me this would be a good look and not to be scared :) he also washed/​styled my hair free of charge. Danny is my go-​to hair dresser.

GO TO DANNY. Ohmygoodness. This was my first time at this salon and he took good care of me. I will DEFINITELY be back.

So first let me start off by saying that I am VERY picky about my hair cuts. I have been putting off cutting my hair for the last 6 – 8 months since I usually get my hair cuts from my aunt. My mother took me Hair Works since she kept saying that Danny is a good hairdresser. So I decided to go and try a new hairdresser.
Mom was right! Danny is great! My hair was very long (all the way to my lower back.) I decided to get an A-​line cut and showed him a picture. He knew what it was called & worked his magic. I was soooo glad that he knew what the cut was called. Usually when I trust what my mom says about hairdressers, there’s a big language barrier and they end up cutting my hair extremely short or, sometimes, uneven. Danny cut my hair in 20 – 30 minutes. That’s super quick AND it was perfectly even! He layered it beautifully and cut my hair to the perfect length.
Overall, I would definitely recommend going to Danny for hair (men and women.) I will definitely come back to see Danny when I grow my bangs out. Honestly, I am still surprised to find a talented hairdresser in Mira Mesa. There may be a small language barrier if you aren’t someone who is used to hearing Vietnamese accents. He’s a nice guy, so don’t be afraid to ask him to repeat what he said.
