Overall extremely impressed with service and quality of food. Went in with pretty low expectations. Have never been a fan of fast food BBQ. But I will tell you that it bet the expectations by a huge margin. Brisket was smoked well, flavorful and not dried out. The chicken was great. You can find better BBQ after all this is Texas, but for something quick it’s worth the stop. Using them again this week for a family event I was so pleased

It’s pretty standard Texas BBQ but still good. A quick spot in the local round rock area. A lot of choices and good lunch specials. The spicy BBQ was tasty.

Stopped in for a quick dinner with the hubby. We both had the two meat plate. Great tasting sausage, turkey, and brisket. Our sides were delicious as well. Love the free ice cream at the end. Perfect way to cap off a lovely meal.

Let me start by saying I’m usually a fan of Dickeys. Yes I realize it is a chain restaurant. Ok now that that’s out of the way on to my review. My boyfriend and I decided to stop in for lunch today(FYI this was my first time at the Round Rock location). We both ordered the brisket plate with two sides. I had the mac n cheese. It was actually pretty good. We both had the baked potato casserole and it wasn’t good however. The fried okra was fair. Sweet tea was good. Sauces weren’t good. Brisket was extremely dry and over cooked. Very small dining area. The best Dickeys I’ve been to is the Plano. Perhaps they could visit this location and show them how it’s done. Just a suggestion. One other thing rolls were cold and dry. Also more expensive than other locations.

It doesn’t quite provide the proper Texas ‘cue experience like a Saltlick or even a Rudy’s but the food is pretty damn delicious. I had the pulled pork and brisket meat plate with sides of BBQ beans and potato casserole. All of it was good and none of it lasted long on my plate. The brisket was a little dry which is really my only complaint but that’s nothing a load of delicious bbq sauce couldn’t fix. They had 3 types to choose from; «original», «sweet» and one that was unnamed so I stayed away! The other two more than did the job though. We were lucky in that we had a voucher but even so this place was pretty expensive for what it is. While I did like the food I would choose Rudy’s over this place in the future as the food, service, price and overall experience is better there.

Not sure why the rating is so low for this place. It’s a chain and was exactly what I expected. The people working were super nice and check on me after I got my meal. Winning!

I have tried this place on two separate occasions and both were epic failures! On the first time I purchased the brisket plate with two sides($ 11.25). I got two decent slices of brisket but the rest was fat and trimmings… I guess to weight it out. And the flavor was just not there. It tasted like it had been baked in an oven and then smoked for a small amount of time because only the outside had a LITTLE smoke flavor AND it didn’t have the«smoke ring» that beef and pork has when it is truly smoked. On top of that, I discovered my drink(should have been Sprite) was all carbonated water($ 2.25)!!! I had absolutely no desire to drive all the way back there from downtown Austin to get it replaced. On my second visit, today, I purchased the«big sandwhich» with jalapeño and cheese sausage. I’m still trying to figure out how they came up with that name! Their big sandwhich was equivalent to Southside’s(Elgin, TX) small sandwhich! I expected more than that for $ 6.50! It was essentially 1 sausage link cut in half and then split open placed on a toasted small hamburger bun. I had to dig to find the sandwhich amongst the napkins! Avoid this place like the plague!

There are just so many BBQ places that are better in the Austin area, I have to go for 3 stars here. BUT, the food is still good and the fast-food aspect is nice. You can’t always wait in line for BBQ! And luckily, my HEB has coupons for it on the back of the receipt! My favorite meat is the turkey. It’s really tasty. I’m also a fan of pretty much everything else I’ve had, nothing bad at all. I’ll always be back when I need fast BBQ near my house, and it certainly performs really well in the category. Plus, free soft serve!

I’m still not crazy about how expensive it can be at times — but I can say that for a lot of places these days. I guess I’m having a hard time adjusting to inflation etc over the years. Still, I work the system as best I can with HEB receipt coupons, daily specials, and the frequent diner card. With that said, I’ve found my favorites tend to be a Big Sandwich or possibly their ribs(the Tuesday special). And since I’m not a big fan of spice/heat, I tend to stick with brisket or pulled pork. I’ve also found that I crave their fried onion tanglers(think ‘thin onion ring strips’); they’re so good! For the last couple years, the consistency with my meals has been quite excellent. And finally, sometimes I get some of their free ice cream … but put it in my drink cup and make a little Dr Pepper float dessert. I’ve gotten to know the regular staff pretty well — we’re on a first name basis now. That definitely makes me want to come back because they’re good folks working for a living. Chain/Franchise — yes. But locally owned — yes.

BBQ is good and they have always served it up fast– been there quite a few times. I go to this place as my count-on-it-being-good-everytime place.

Well, this is just your run of the mill fast food BBQ but I have to give them props for handling a very large order that I placed just walking in a couple of weeks ago. We were moving and had about 13 people show up to help us out(what great family my hubby has) so I wanted to get them something quick and filling. I got two of the largest family meals, so it was pretty much everything on the menu that I got us all a sampling of. These guys were hustling! I was in and out in under 10 minutes, I had ordered 2 gallons of sweet tea and made it home to realize that they forgot to give it to me. So I drove back in a huff ready to give them a piece of their mind, when they said HEYYOUAREBACK! Sorry we forgot your tea, we took it off your bill but please still have it on the house with our apologies! What great customer service, everyone that ate the food loved it also so I must provide a gushing review because of this all.

Another great bbq meal here. Don’t forget that kids eat free on Sunday’s. The food is always good and the service is super friendly. And free ice cream at the end of the meal too.

I have down graded this review to a one star. Why? The corporate service department was on top of sending me a message to apologize, and asked for contact information so the location’s management could contact me. Sure! I am all about constructive criticism, especially to make it a place I can go to and enjoy! The food is good, but the service was horrible! So… 3 months later, I have not been contacted. They answered the question on whether or not I will be back or recommend them!

From the previous reviews I wasn’t expecting much. Dickey’s is known as a mediocre BBQ chain, and in the Austin area, BBQ is fantastic and plentiful. I had a BBQ craving after shopping at HEB and saw Dickey’s. Ordered a brisket sandwich and 2 ribs. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty damn good. Not as good as Franklin, Stiles, or even Rudy’s, but still very good. I will be back for more.

My first time here today. Service was friendly and very quick. I got the Tuesday Special, which was ribs, sides and a drink. I added an extra serving of brisket. Food was great. Well presented. Ribs were a little chewy. And they were having computer problems, which created a bit of a line. I get it though. Stuff happens. Would recommend if in area.

Ordered online on a Friday afternoon to pick up on my way home from work. The food wasn’t ready at my scheduled pick up time, even though I also called just to make sure it would be ready, when I was 20 minutes from pickup time. When it was finally ready and I got it home I realized that they forgot one of my salads. It was miserable in there on a Friday evening, so instead of going back in(completely out of my way) I sucked it up and ate bites of my kids food. I will never order online from here again. To be honest, I doubt I will ever go back.

I have been to this location multiple times! Every time we have had awesome service and awesome food! The manager is amazingly nice! I usually get a brisket sandwich with baked potato casserole and it is deliciousness! I will most definitely keep returning!

I USEDTOLOVE this place… i WOULDALWAYS get brisket sandwhiches here, they were pretty amazing until i got sick after eating one a couple weeks ago. After i ate the sandwhich i was feeling sick, nausious & had the worst upset stomache… either i was served raw meat or i was food poisened. not a fun experience. This place kind of grosses me out now. i gave it an extra star just because there mashed potatoes are amazing! But be careful with the meat

Tried Dickeys for the first time today. Their sides aren’t terribly great… we got potato salad, which is orange and made of mashed taters. I think the color is from pimentos, however it’s a tad off putting. It doesn’t taste bad though. The jalapeño beans were just meh. They taste like canned beans, not my thing. Their polish sausage is really good and their brisket, surprisingly, is FANTASTIC! I’m not a fan of the rolls, they are small and dense. The«butter» is quite possibly the most vile thing I’ve ever seen. I watched the girl pour it out of a jug into the machine that heats it and rolls it on the rolls. It never changed consistency or color. I literally thought it was nacho cheese at first, for their baked potatoes or something. That’s terrifying to me, I did not dare eat the rolls! I can only imagine what chemicals are in that mile long ingredient list. The sauce was not my thing either. Very thick and laden with liquid smoke. Too much of it, it tasted bitter. Their«ranch» dressing is right up there with their«butter.» It was yellow colored and tasted sour. Everything ranch dressing shouldn’t be. I watched the guy pour it out of a jug, too. I love ranch and it saddens my soul when establishments don’t take the time to make it. It literally takes less than 5 minutes to make a giant batch that will last up to 2 weeks. Honestly, this place loses a lot of points for their lack of quality ingredients. They have great brisket, but that’s really all I cared for. The fried okra was good, but what’s the point if their ranch is terrible? They go together and without ranch I didn’t eat the okra. Unless I’m just in the mood for brisket I’d rather go to Pokejos. Their brisket doesn’t even compare, but they make their ranch and have better sides.
