Unilocal won’t let me do 3.5 stars so 4 stars it is… The good stuff, pulled pork was tasty as well as the brisket, the slaw was fresh and crisp, pinto beans I got with my brisket plate were tasty, you have the option of bread, corn bread, flour or corn tortillas with a plate. The not quite as good stuff, tiny place with not very many tables, the slaw although good was a little too sweet for my taste, my wifey and I were split on the tater salad, I liked it but she though it was too mustardy, the BBQ sauce was good but different, it would be nice if they offered more than one kind, like Johnny T’s, I would definitely come back to try other things like the chicken fried steak and the tacos.

LOVE the carne guisada tacos. Rich, thick gravy and tender beef. The tortillas taste homemade. Add a little cheese on top and you have heaven in a taco. Their standard bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast tacos are amazing. As are the brisket tacos. We’ve been going here for more than 5 years now. I’m really sorry that we won’t be patronizing this establishment anymore because of them embracing open-carry. I don’t want to eat breakfast, no matter how tasty it is, surrounded by idiots pretending they’re Wyatt Earp.

First time here and tried the Chicken fried chicken on their daily lunch special menu. Got to say it was delicious! Served with corn, crinkled fries and corn bread. Chicken breast was cooked well and the breading went great with the gravy. The corn and fries don’t have salt or pepper which I prefer because you add the amount to your liking. I will definitely try some breakfast tacos next time =)

I have only eaten here once, but it is good. A lot of ex-military and also a lot of people that were going to compete or taking food to their teams at the Pflugerville chili fest were here. This is a true joint. They have a kind of spicy potato that they have with their food. I had a potato and bacon taco and a chopped brisket taco. Sat outside and had a good time chatting with folks. There are very few tables inside and they were all full. Not bad, not bad at all. Will be going back to check out more food.

Hands down, no contest, the best breakfast taco and taco sauce in town, period. This is a must try place for breakfast taco’s. Get the spicy potato ingredient in your taco. The taco sauce is flavorful homemade and just right in the spicy bucket. Hands down, the best breakfast taco and taco sauce combination… period!!! Why you still reading? Go get your breakfast taco.

This review is based solely on their breakfast tacos on flour tortillas which I am a fan of for sure. They have really good homemade flour tortillas and their salsa is also homemade. It’s not too spicy and has a good consistency. Their tacos are a good size and have your usual choices(eggs, ham, bacon, cheese potato) but I really like and recommend their picadillo, spicy potato and garne guisada tacos. Some places you need to have two tacos to be full but here one taco can suffice that appetite and justifies their price. I usually see Iris behind the counter when I am ordering and she’s always been polite so I am not sure about all these reviews about sour service. They are efficient and nice enough to me. Also random, if you need some AVON products, Iris is a representative and there are some products on a shelf to the right of the counter as well. Go here and give them a try. They are definitely mom and pop and in my hood and I’d love to see them stay in business.

wow! great tortillas, Great service. This is the epitome of a mom and pop joint. My wife loves the pancake breakfast. The lunches and dinners are a good size. The botana platter can easily feed 2 – 3. your orders can be called in if youre in a hurry. The price is good and the breakfast tacos have some original, if not unusual, offerings(ie: eggs and weenies). The hours are limited so call to see if they’re open, they tend to close earlier than other places… Like I said. give it a try, youll enjoy it!

I ordered the brisket sandwich combo, and asked for the moist cut, the minute I bit in I knew the meat had been boiled and not smoked. Anyone who likes/loves this place clearly doesn’t know what TXBBQ is or should taste like. This brisket had a gummy texture and no smoke ring or flavor. This TX the home of brisket and you DONOT! boil the meat then put it on the pit and call it BBQ, disgraceful. I hear the tacos are pretty good. Advice give up the BBQ and just call the place Amigo’s because the owners do not know how to BBQ.

Let’s be clear about something before I continue. I love tacos from multiple places and unless your serving your tacos on store bought tortillas I will probably like something from your place as well. However, sometimes what I want & need is a good old-fashioned taco without any of the fancy schmancy stuff. And that’s exactly what I get from Amigo’s every time. Just a nice, good, old-fashioned taco served up on a homemade flour tortilla. Love it. Paul & Iris are the proprietors of this fine establishment and they keep it simple. Walk up to the counter, place your order, dine-in or carryout, pay, enjoy. During the winter months, well, the few winter days we have, Paul & Iris will make a few seasonal dishes like fried fish during Lent, chicken & dumplings & menudo(when you need to clear up that hangover). Over the years I’ve become a regular at Amigo’s and am greeted by name when I walk in. So, head over to Amigo’s and order yourself a spicy potato & egg taco or two. You will not be disappointed.

This is a great place to grab some breakfast tacos for the office. They are reasonably priced and filling. However, I am afraid their secret ingredient is grease and that’s why I like them so much!

The reviews were pretty mixed on this place so I decided to give it a try for myself. I ordered two bean, cheese, spicy potato and bacon tacos. Even though a friend and I have a running chorizo joke, I really don’t like the stuff ATALL and the bacon tasted suspiciously a lot like chorizo… like it was mixed or maybe cooked together. Anyway… for me that ruined an otherwise okay taco.

Tried this with an UrbanDealight coupon and was very disappointed. First of all, their BBQ is EXPENSIVE. We couldn’t figure out why everyone was ordering the burgers there but once we ate the BBQ, we figured it out. The brisket was tasteless and dry and had a lot of fat on it. The sausage tasted ok but the skin was SUPER tough. Their BBQ sauce was pretty good, though. We got the 3 meat plate which came with 2 sides and some tortillas or bread. One side was small scoop of potato salad we saw them dishing up from a big tub clearly marked potato salad(Sam’s Club, anyone???). The other was french fries, which were ok but pretty salty. The iced tea was gross and tasted like tea grounds. We also ordered a breakfast taco to try and it was ok. Nothing amazingly memorable. The flour tortillas tasted pretty doughy. Service was friendly but the food was not worth going back, especially at $ 19 for one 3 meat plate, 1 drink, and 1 breakfast taco.

A Pizza place with ice cream and Asian Food? A BBQ /Mexican restaurant? Yes, this strip mall is part of the melting pot that America stands for, not eating at any of these establishments only shows how much you hate America. I was wondering if there was any Q’ in PF’ville and my GPS brought me here today for a brisket plate with sides. I walked in and it smelled great, not like BBQ, but like fresh food. They have 3 – 4 meats to pick from Brisket, Sausage, chicken and maybe one more but now that I think of it, maybe they only have 3. I got the Mexican Rice and corn with my brisket and 2 fresh tortillas. Everything came out piping hot, which was great and the sauce even came is a syrup pitcher like you would use for pancakes. The corn was fresh and flavorful, the tortillas were fresh and i really liked the Mexican rice. I stuffed a few tortillas with brisket and rice and dipped them in their sauce and it was fantastic. I usually don’t care for BBQ sauce, but I really liked theirs. Normally I’m not a fan of the thicker sweeter BBQ sauces but theirs looked like a Mole sauce but didn’t taste like it. As I left I realized that may be my favorite BBQ sauce I’ve had, I wish they would bottle and sell it. My only ding was the brisket itself. It was a little on the dry side and I assume came off a gas or electric smoker as no firepit was visible. I got a health portion of brisket which included lean and fatty sections. The sauce did help fix any brisket issues but I was left wishing they used a firepit for more smoke flavor in their brisket. I would come back again for sure.

I tried this place after getting one of those coupon deals. It’s in a shopping center in Pflugerville. You go in, look at the menu written on dry erase boards, order at the counter, and they bring your food out– pretty quickly! And, the food was tasty! My fiancé and I didn’t get the bbq since we went for breakfast. We got the migas plate and a couple of tacos. The tortillas were very good while all of the ingredients tasted very authentic. We definitely want to come back for some lunch items. There were even a few people that came in that looked like they were on their lunch break and picked up some to-go items. They must be popular for their burgers and such too. It’s a little far of a drive for us but if we’re ever in the area and feeling like breakfast or even trying a new bbq joint, we’ll definitely try here again.

The food is okay, and I would go here more often except for the fact that I have been here over 10 times,(due to it’s convenient location to my house) yet the owners(in plain sight) Never say goodbye to me, nor seem to welcome my presence. I see them acting friendlier with some of their older regulars, but I’d honestly rather patronize Dairy Queen where at least the paid employees are nicer and classier than these people. Good luck making it tucked back in a neighborhood with those sour attitudes.

Great food. Friendly atmosphere. Unassuming service. Hand made tortillas. Phenomenonal tacos. I have been going there for over 2 years and they have proven themselves consistently good. Best BBQ sauce ever.

I’ve been getting breakfast Taco’s from Amigo’s since they opened a few years ago and still keep coming back for more! The tacos are nice and large size and never dissapointing. The usual variety of bacon, potato, sausage, etc is available as well as some unique offering such as the spicy potato, which I love with eggs. You can ask for any option and they will make it, adds some additional cost to your taco, but so worth it. You can also save time in the morning by calling ahead and your order will be ready when you walk in the door. The homemade salsa is another favorite here. Excellent favor and not overpowered by spice, but definately has a kick to it. This stuff alone makes it woth the visit, so much better the regular boring pecante you get everywhere else. Unfortunately I don’t get to eat lunch here very often as I work too far away now. They offer a daily lunch specal as well as small varity of BBQ plates and Mexican food to chose from. An odd mix at first, but they do it so well. I highy recommend the botana platters, they are huge portions and definately hit the spot when you’re hungry. My only complaint is that I wish they were open a little later so I could enjoy picking up some of their food on the way home for dinner.
