Who doesn’t like this place? It doesn’t matter where in the US I travel, I can always get a great tasting steak at Texas Roadhouse.

I’ve heard some say that Texas Roadhouse is the best steakhouse in Austin. After trying Texas Land and Cattle and Logan’s(both positive experiences), I had to try this place to see what the big deal was. After trying it, I must say I was not very impressed. I liked the ambiance, that cool laid back Texas vibe complete with the ‘peanut shells all over the floor’ flow. However, the service wasn’t good and the food was just ok. Nothing special. I ordered the half slab ribs along with veggies and the house salad. The best part of my meal? The vinaigrette dressing!(That’s pretty sad). The ribs were not fresh, more like re-cooked/re-heated with BBQ sauce thrown on there, the veggies were regular, and the salad was good though. I must also admit that the price was pretty inexpensive which was another good thing. But overall, I don’t feel the experience was up to par.

I love the ribs! They are the best thing on the menu. Chili tastes like canned chili… Looooong wait if you go on a weekend prepare your self to wait more than an hour for a table … And when you finally get a table you will get a crappy table next to the restroom.

I normally LOVE Texas Roadhouse, but not tonight. We had okay service and we left what we thought was an okay tip for the service we were provided. As we were leaving the Manager had the audacity to approach us and criticize us because if the tip we left. Very unprofessional. And when she wasn’t satisfied with the answer she got she stormed off. Very unprofessional. If you know your check depends on your tips, why is it you give half ass service then get pissed and complain when you don’t get a 50% tip? It’s called the service industry for a reason. And by the way, we had left cash on the table but as soon as the manager approached to complain, I took it right off the table.

My fiancé and I have been fans of Texas Roadhouse for years, but this was our first time at the Pflugerville location. We came around 6pm on a Friday night, and it was pretty packed! Good sign! They asked for our phone number and texted us when our table was ready, which was not long for how busy they were. We ended up getting seated near the bar and our waiter was Bo(Bobby), he was the bomb! Literally one of the best waiters we have ever had anywhere, including some of the fancier places downtown! My fiancé ordered the 16oz prime rib(medium rare) with a side salad and bacon/cheddar fries, and I got the 8oz sirloin(rare all the way!) with a side salad and steamed broccoli. The prime rib was a good pink color and marbled with lots of delicious fat! My sirloin was cooked PERFECTLY and cut so easily, I couldn’t believe it was only $ 12! The broccoli was completely overcooked, but I had so much other food I never ended up eating it anyway. Overall we were definitely impressed with the quality and Bo made it even better, don’t forget to ask for him!

My fiancé and I were craving steaks and decided to come here. We have been let down before by other steak houses but decided our appetite would win this battle. When we arrived the line looked scary. We gave our names and we’re told it would be 15 to 25 minites. In about 20 minutes we were seated, got drinks in less than 5 minutes after being seated. Our waiter was excellent, and was very attentive. I ordered the prime rib and my fiancé got the sirloin. My steak was superb and cooked perfectly. I got lucky and got the end of it so it was a big juicy piece of heaven. My fiances sirloin was perfect as well. We will definitely be coming back.

Great place to eat, love the atmosphere it’s fun, love the county music the dance routine the waitresses do. The peanuts they serve at each table is nice to nibble when your really hungry. The food is good, affordable and it’s great for the whole family. Just FYI: the Mac & chz is like box made :( But that’s the only thing I can think of is not good, other than that, it’s ALL good!!!

The bread is good and the steaks are better. For the price, its probably the best cut of meat you can get without going to a high dollar steakhouse. The atmosphere is casual and a bit on the rowdy side so you had better not come expecting the quiet business dinner type place. They eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor here.

While I agree with another reviewer that most of the staff looks 15⁄16 yrs old-tonight they were ALL attentive, courteous, and on the spot. The place was packed and our waiter, Sean, was awesome. Our food was amazing and we will definitely be back. Thank y’all so much!

I read a whole lot of whiney reviews on this restaurant. Well I thought it was great. They do not take reservations but do have call ahead seating. I called at 6.30 and asked to be in line. They said 1 hour. We Arrived at 7.25 and seated within 2 minutes. Picked out the exact steaks we wanted from display case at entrance on our way to seats. We were given tickets for those exact steaks. Two 20oz bone in rib eyes. I ordered mine Pittsburgh style«black and blue». This a challenge for any cook. It was perfect! My wife got medium rare, also perfectly cooked. Also the salad was super fresh. The service was excellent from our server, Kenya. The only reason I do lid not give five stars is the chef could back off the salt on the steak and sautéed mushrooms. Let the Meat speak for itself.

Second timer here! We ate here over a year ago for the first time and didn’t remember it, so today after enjoying a movie(Concussion, go see it people!) at Tinseltown my husband and I decided to try it again for the convenience. I’ll start with the service, it’s sub par. But you kinda expect that right? Places like this only seem to employ 15 year olds who have no idea how customer service works. I’ve noticed this at other steakhouses as well. So after standing in the entry way for a few minutes while the hostesses goofed off we were sat and after about 5 minutes our waiter greeted us and took our drink order. It wasn’t until he came back to take our food order that he informed us the menus were tucked away behind the condiments, if you’re going to hide away your menus let people know! Our waiter was ok, he gave us the check while we were eating which doesn’t influence my eating speed but it is really off putting. Now the food. The bread and cinnamon butter are DEVINE. The bread is perfectly doughy, hot and delicious, the butter is soft and spreadable. And that’s really were my praise ends. My salad was drenched in dressing(another thing I’ve noticed steak houses do) and almost inedible. My steak, while cooked to perfect medium rareness, was so salty! It was a bummer because it was cooked perfectly but horribly over seasoned. The shrimp was the exact same. Over seasoned. The Arnold Palmer was very good. Over all just a run of the mill, over priced steakhouse. Not terrible, but not worth a trip.

Why is this place so popular? A 45 minute wait for a table… To receive a not so hot/fresh country fried chicken?!? Blahh! My parents like to eat here because they are use to their comfort zone dining. They may not be so great at English speaking, but they are not rude what so ever. At least give them a bare minimum instead of a bad service. So the beginning and middle was a bit rough but the service got better near the end. Thanks for the extra bread to go at the end! Their rolls are the only thing good here.

This is my favorite restaurant in Austin. I always get the filet or the salmon and it is great every time. The prices are very reasonable in the food is incredible. They also have a very good kids menu. + kids eat free on Mondays. They also have early dine with several meals for 8.99 from 4 until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday until 4 p.m.

I expected everything to be top notch like it usually is. Boy were we in for a surprise on this visit. After work and school, we were starving and had a birthday to celebrate. It’s still very early in the evening and we thought we would miss the dinner rush. We did accomplish that, but we still received horrible service. The music was cranked up so loud that I couldn’t even have a conversation without yelling. I really hate walking out of a place with a headache. We ordered steaks as it’s a steakhouse and I don’t expect it to be a 5 star steak. I do expect that its done to the way requested. Medium-well is to have a pink center per their menu. What I received was medium rare, with a red center amd blood on my plate. As soon as the plate was set down the waitress was gone. It took her 15 minutes to come by to check on us and by this time my child was done with her dinner. She took the steak back and the kitchen charcoaled it to a crispy state.

Our last trip to Texas Roadhouse in Pflugerville, TX was miserable. We were looking forward to enjoying a couple of 16-oz Prime ribs and baked potatoes, a couple of nice appetizers, and drinks. We were seated in an area of booths that sit 4 adults. Within 5 minutes of ordering, a family of 7 was crammed in to the both next to us — 3 adults and 4 kids ages 1-yr to 5-yrs, with the smallest and loudest one less than 3 feet from our table in a highchair. The smallish ones that were mobile barely spent a moment in their booth, running up and down the aisle shrieking, running into our table and chairs several times, and basically making our nice dinner one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. When we mentioned this to our waitress, she said she’d see if there was something she could do about it. That never happened. When the entire family was in the booth, the kids were sitting ONTOPOFTHETABLE. Who does that?! And why can’t management tell them to quiet down? Even if your food and service were incredible(it’s not), having to deal with this Chuck E Cheese atmosphere makes for a lousy experience. Side note: Yes, you moronic parents, you ARE entitled to a nice night out. But if your brat(s) keeps others from enjoying the night out that they’re also entitled to, you’re jackwagons and need to go to McDonald’s on your nights out. Knowing that Texas Roadhouse endorses this sort of thing means we won’t be back. I will happily pay twice the menu price to enjoy a meal without having to deal with irresponsible parents and their screaming, misbehaving progeny. BTW, we spent ~$ 80 there for the two of us and tipped $ 16. The group of heathens seated next to us spent $ 40 and tipped $ 4. Yeah, I looked. Great business decision on your end.

I’m here maybe once a month and service and quality food is superb. Definitely a must try if you’re wanting a great steak. I ordered a medium rare sirloin steak with rolls, fresh veggie and a house salad. It was amazing! Fresh rolls and the drinks never hit the bottom. Definitely coming back

Every time I’m in Texas we find a Texas Road House for a great steak! My wife and I ordered the 20oz Bone in Rib Eye(we shared it), with a salad and 2 sides, and those incredible cinnamon buttered fresh rolls! Our steak was AAA Quality, no steak sauce necessary, this steak holds its own! Our servers are always kind and happy people, so thank you Mandy for being the sweetest server and not making fun of our California accents! lol See«you guys» next time ;)

If my stomach had its own heart, there will always be space reserved for Texas Roadhouse. I tend to be a highly indifferent person, but when it comes to favorite overall restaurant, favorite(affordable) steakhouse, and favorite rolls, the answer for me is obvious, and I’ll let you know very very quickly. So when my birthday rolls around and I’m expected to celebrate at a fancy restaurant with small plates, I say«nope, I’m having steak from Roadhouse tonight!» Walking into the restaurant and taking my seat, I was ecstatic and not a moment passed where I wasn’t disappointed. I already wrote a rather lengthy review at another Roadhouse location, so I will not reproduce it here. Rather, here’s the blurb: — I don’t care that I’m getting a 16 oz steak in 10 minutes, I’m inhaling all the rolls and all the cinnamon butter within my reach. Don’t you worry, I’ll still have room. — When you eat at a restaurant(especially a new one), always order their House Salad. For a steakhouse, their House Salad is might tasty and one of my favorites. — 16 oz Ribeye cooked Medium Rare. You know you’re a carnivore when your biggest fear is the waiter accidentally mishearing«medium rare» for«medium well». Luckily, I’ve never had this happen to me, but the fear is always there. In a single sentence, their ribeye is everything it should be. Don’t you dare use any steak sauce. Life of a person with social anxiety: I’m well aware of their singing habits, and I make sure no staff there knows it’s my birthday. I do hear four other tables falling victim to their birthday cheers. But it’s a happy thing to know that I’m not the only one who comes here on their special day.
