Visited this super amazing place last night! Beautiful inside, great service, delicious meal. I’ll bring the whole family back next time! Great area for a get together in the back and cozy tables in the front! Lighting is pretty and wood accents break up the space nicely!

When we first went to this place, we really enjoyed it. However, they’ve recently made some significant changes to their menu. I haven’t really enjoyed it since. This restaurant is owned by the same people as Chiloso so there’s a lot of the same ingredients being used. Since I hate ranch, that automatically eliminates half of the menu. I don’t have any complaints about the service. I’m just not impressed with the food. My husband loves it, though.

We love this restaurant. Have been many times. Love the Chicken Fried Steak, Fried calamari and Jalepenos, and the Brisket Fries are incredible. Have been in for brunch a couple of times and had the Andy’s Plate which is Jalepeno cheese smoked sausage, wrapped in a pancake and served with a side of maple syrup. They serve that with 2 strips of thick bacon and 2 fried eggs, with a side of skillet potatoes topped with sausage gravy and chorizo. Very good and filling. Also get the breakfast dish with grilled avocados, topped with eggs, scrambled with beans and I think sausage or brisket(I can’t remember. I am writing this much later than when we went). They make a good Bloody Mary and mimosa with fresh fruit added. Service is excellent and the décor is beautiful. Highly recommend this place for any meal. Brunch is only on the weekend, though.

We tried OD when it opened, and hated it. We went again tonight, to see if this Chiloso spin-off had improved. The service was much better, but the food? Not really. The food is all generally hot and spicy, as if the only flavor the chef knows is hot peppers. The spicy ranch sauce(that tastes so great with the Chiloso chips) sucks on a salad. My dinner salad was so hot it was inedible. My wife ordered the chicken enchiladas, and the rice and beans were so spicy that they burned her mouth. She couldn’t eat them. The chicken-fried steak was OK, and the jalapeño gravy wasn’t really too spicy, IF I hadn’t had a few bites of the burning-hot salad just moments before. After that fiery salad, even the gravy was too spicy. The GM said they put jalapenos in everything; even in some of the drinks. I know guys who would enjoy all the hot peppers, but it is not for me. We won’t be back.

To be honest, I am always a little weary of high star rankings in smaller towns.(Yes, Rockwall is a smaller town, sorry). But we came here just to see if the food matched the reviews. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was GREAT. They used a jalapeño gravy that had just enough kick but was not too spicy. The portion was huge. One of those items that comes out and you immediately regret not sharing it with someone. The price was great($ 12) and the service was good. We will definitely be back and sharing the CFS next time. Only recommendation I could make would be that they need mashed potatoes. You just can’t have chicken fried steak without them.

I came here on a Sunday before the church crowd. There was 2 other tables of people. We got right in and the waitress was very nice. The seats were old style and not comfortable. At all the tables were small for a party of 4. We were lucky as we were 3 and the 3rd was our 5 yearold daughter. It all worked out. The menu was very small so not allot of choice for breakfast. The meal took a longtime to be prepared considering there was hardly anyone here. Our waitress said go for the pancakes so that’s what we did. They were really good but so sweet we could not finish. The sausage they brought out was burnt bad on one side and kinda dried out. I asked for potatoes with cheese and they were not cooked all the way through. I sent them back. The OJ was good. Overall I would say the 4 star average rating must have been for lunch and dinner. This was not a 4 star meal. Lots of room for improvement. The good news was the meal for 3 came to 22.20 w/o tip. I think my family will try other places.

In a follow up to my prior post… this restaurant still had some of my favorite food… when they can get the order right or to you in a timely manner. You can’t go wrong with anything that has their smoked meats… especially the brisket and chicken which is why I have loved this place since it opened for lunch and dinner. Brunch on the other hand is a very different experience. The owners and management staff have obviously not committed themselves to this venture. We have now been here three times for brunch and had horrible experiences every time. Most of the issues derive from the fact they are always understaffed for brunch even though the place is usually only half full. We always get horrible service and the wait staff seem stretched thin to the point they have attitude with the customers when you need something and only refilled drinks once. The kitchen seems to be a separate issue. Both ourselves and the table next to us both received incorrect orders and had to send back. Lastly, I have been waiting for my check the entire time I have been writing this review and am still waiting. And my waitress is currently cleaning the table next to us while we still wait. Makes me sad… this restaurant has such potential with the great favors in their food but if they don’t address staff issues in both the front of the house and back they won’t be successful. The two stars are to give credit to their food… but the service has gotten so awful it diminishes the experience greatly.

Yum! There were lots of great parts of my lunch and overall sign me up any ol’ time for Oscar Delta. We got there at 11:15 and were the first table there. The waitress was nice enough but no nonsense. My dad is notorious for 1) jumping ahead and ordering in front of all the women like he’s the king of Zamunda and 2) talking up the waitress with his«have you eaten here? what do you like?» conversation schtick. Our waitress says no, she’s never eaten at Oscar Delta, but she’s tried some things. Also that they are the same people as Chiloso… but not being from Rockwall that didn’t mean anything to my dad. She couldn’t really say what was good, just what a lot of people tend to order. My dad ordered three tacos, one burger/chorizo one with a fried egg on top, a crispy shrimp one and a BBQ brisket. I’m not sure if the menu really reflected what came on the tacos– the BBQ Brisket had potato salad on top(yeah yum!) but that was a surprise, as was the fried egg. Can’t see the menu online and the ones posted on Unilocal aren’t helpful either so I can’t tell if we all just didn’t read well or if it’s a fun menu surprise. When I go back, I’ll make a point of taking photos of the menu. There were 6 – 8 tacos to choose from(at $ 4 each), lots with cool flavor combinations. Menu online only lists a couple of tacos. I got two tacos, the BBQ brisket and a grilled fish one. The food was served on little square cookie sheets(fun!). All tacos come with chips and salsa. Honestly, the food tasted awesome. The ambiance was fun and nice. My only complaints could be my plastic tea cup was chipped pretty bad(boo), real glasses would have been nicer, and the waitress was pretty ditzy. I did snag a photo of the drink menu. I’m all about coming back for a cocktail soon. We checked with the waitress about what beer they had on tap, she couldn’t really say. She shrugged and said there was«the deep ellum one» which doesn’t narrow it down. We’ll be back soon and I’ll report on the drink sitch!

Excellent service & Amazing TACOS! Love the new menu & the new lunch hour. I really appreciated the server letting me know what was spicy vs. milder. Also liked that she asked specifics of how we wanted our menu choices. The personal attention of the new manager was refreshing. Tab for 2 people including an appetizer was under $ 40. We will be back soon!

I absolutely LOVE this locally owned restaurant! It is delicious with an eclectic twist! It is the definition of Texan cuisine: chicken fried steak with jalapeño cream gravy, fabulous hamburgers, campfire tacos, grilled avocados in a queso and BBQ sauce, chips and jalapeño ranch with an AMAZING bar! Make sure you try the jalapeño margarita! The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and trendy. It is all the BEST rolled up into one!

I’ve been here a couple times and each time I leave feeling very underwhelmed. Both times I had the enchilada«daily special». The latest dish was inedible on the outside because it was so overcooked and the rest was pretty much cheese. I mean a TON of cheese. Luckily the chips and queso had plenty to go around so I had something to eat. I think the bartender was the chef on the last visit. Oddly enough the bartender admitted he doesn’t drink so he wasn’t helpful with explaining the beer and drinks to us. The had a convoluted explanation of the margarita prices and said we could try some for free, but ended up getting charged for everything. The drink prices were very reasonable and the drinks were really good.

Best CFS I’ve ever had. Their jalapeño gravy & ranch is out of this world. To anyone looking to have chicken fried steak with a little heat to it, this is perfect for you!

Seriously, the best burger I have had in a long time! Since we ate lunch at 3:00, we had the place all to ourselves. Interior design is really neat, with music coming from the bar area. Glenda said the fish tacos were delish. The seasoning of the meat and the melted, slightly fried cheese on my burger gave a flavor you don’t want to miss. And the fries were perfect. A solid 5 on the burger! We spoke to the manager and chef for a few minutes, and he said come back and try the CFS with jalapeño gravy. Winner! I’ll be there.

Oscar Delta is one of my favorite places in Rockwall to grab dinner. I most often place a to go order and take it home on my way home from work. Their chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, turkey club and texas trinity are all fantastic, and I literally crave their jalapeño gravy. Rockwall is severely lacking in quality restaurants and this is one of the very few here. Thank God for ODT, now I don’t have to drive all the way into Dallas to get a good meal.

Really good food, seriously interesting concept with Mexican or tex mex as well as southern food! The spicy battered okra is amazing. The queso is the bomb. My mom had the boom boom enchiladas, which she said were really good! And I had the stuffed avocado with chicken. The Mexican dirty rice is really cool too! Only thing I would say negative for this place is that service is slooooooooooow. It took us 15 minutes to get our apps after being there almost 15 minutes before being able to order the apps. We were there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and there were only a handful of tables occupied at the time. Once they get the service part down, this place will be legit. Could have just been an off day so I’ll come back for more and update the review then. Love the idea though, and the food is spot on.

My new favorite restaurant. Period. Everything was amazing. Chicken Fried Steak was the best I have ever had. The jalapeño gravy is killer! Prices are decent too. Portions are crazy big too so there is nothing wrong with splitting the entrees. We will be back!

Came back for the second time after the wonderful experience we had on our first visit. Wanted to see if they’re gonna be bumped up to five stars. Started with and appetizer of crispy calamari and jalapeño rings served with marinara and bella-blanco sauce for dipping. While just a touch greasy, it was excellent and is reflective of their prowess on fried dishes. My son had the chicken fried steak and fried okra, which was just as good as I remembered. But wanting to try something different this time, I decided to go for the $ 13BBQ Brisket Bacon Cheeseburger. For that amount and based on my first experience, I was a little disappointed. The burger was cooked a little more that I like and it was just not good enough to justify the price tag. To this point, I probably would have my rating the same as last time(4 stars) based on how great the fried dishes are. But the service on this visit was poor. The main dishes didn’t come out for about 30 minutes after our appetizer did and we had to flag the server down to ask her to check after about 20 minutes. Drinks were not refilled without prompting either. In their defense, there was one large party seated around the same time we were, but I think they should be able to accommodate this without as much disruption as we experienced.

Heard a lot of buzz about this place, so decided to try it. I just love that Rockwall has such neat restaurants. Had the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was really good. Ordered the chicken sandwich & hubby chose the Papi’s burger. The chicken was TODIEFOR! I have never tasted such smoky tender chicken. It wasn’t a hunk of a chicken breast on a bun — it was sliced and seasoned to perfection. Hubby’s burger was delicious(I had a bite!), topped with avocado and a fried egg. He said it was the best burger he’s ever had. Both came with hand cut fries(similar to Five Guys). I ordered a side of the jalapeño gravy to dip them in. Yum! You would never know from the outside just how cool the inside is. The atmosphere is modern, décor is classy and upscale, but surprisingly the prices are very reasonable. Also it is much bigger inside than I would have expected. We will be going back!

First time here and was very impressed. The food was great. I was impressed with the freshness of their guacamole, green beans, and fried okra. I had their special Boom Boom enchiladas. It had smoked chicken in a stacked up tortilla with melted cheese. It came with salad, Texas rice and green beans. We had the Tex Trinity appetizer which was very good with chips, guacamole, queso, and a New Mexico hot sauce which was very good. Husband had the chicken fried steak which was huge and delicious. It was a nice environment with a friendly waitress. Owner/general manager came over to check on us and was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back
