Turning Tides

So… a friend of ours bought my wife a gift of a massage from here. It was a postpartum massage. As you can imagine my wife was super excited about the gift. It took three calls before she was able to schedule anything. Although it seemed more difficult than it should have been, she still scheduled an appointment for Jules to come to our home. About 15 – 20 minutes after the scheduled time we looked out the front window and saw a woman walking up with a baby in her arms. We were a little confused. But then we saw another woman walking up with a massage table. Now we were really confused. Did the massage therapist bring her baby and mother to our house for my wife’s postpartum massage? Even worse did she do it without asking if it was ok? Yup. That’s exactly what happened. When we expressed our confusion and dissatisfaction with the unprofessional move, we were met with attitude. She pretty much said that that’s how she does things. That there were no other options. Really?!! How could this massage be relaxing with an extra baby and it’s grandmother hanging out in our tiny house while we had already gotten attitude from the massage therapist! So after we were told unapologetically by Jules that there were no other options, we declined and she left. Dang. Really disappointed with this experience.

I have been lucky enough to have been seeing Jules for quite some time. Although I no longer live close, whenever I am in town I make sure that I schedule an appt. She is definitely one of those therapists that knows how to help you with what is happening with you rather than just giving a relaxing massage. Most can make you feel all nice and warm, Jules makes you feel better long term.
