Topanien is the kind of store that women can’t resist checking out. This super cute little shop is a feast for the eyes, bursting with gifts, jewelry, accessories, décor, homewares and chotchkies from all corners of the globe. I especially liked their wares from Africa, Asia and Mexico. I fell in love with some day of the dead figurines and my sis was oogling their beautiful silver rings. The girl at the counter was very personable. Very happy with my purchases!

Do your gift buying at this wonderful local store! My favorite place to buy home goods, art, music and Holiday ornaments to show how much I love my family and friends. They have these wonderful baskets too that are great for Waldorf school lunches and a terrific toy basket or just to got shopping with, they are very sturdy. When you step into Topanien you are taken on a world tour and delighted by all of the wonderful treasures there! I really enjoy the friendly and helpful staff too.

Topanien is one of my favorite stores, especially for gift giving and jewelry. Each time I go into the store (within walking distance of my house), I find some new treasure and soak up the wonderful smells. I have bought so many wonderful gifts for birthdays, weddings, graduations, and even babies there, and of course I especially love their sales. For myself I’ve bought jewelry, clothing, artwork, Japanese dishes, Christmas decorations, and bags there. My husband knows that he can’t go wrong if he gets me a gift certificate for Topanien.
And the best part of all is supporting a local business (which supports fair trade) and getting my gifts beautifully wrapped for free!

Great treasure of gifts for such a small store. What I liked today about it was that as busy as it was, they made sure they greeted everyone that walked in the door with an acknowledgement. Have you ever gone in stores and been totally ignored as if they could care less you walked in their establishment or not? Being acknowledged with a Hello or a Thank you for coming in means a lot. You could hardly see over the people shopping and yet they found a way to do this during the holiday season rush.

I ordered a basket that was advertised as made in Guana. I got the basket today and it is UGLY. I could have gotten something like this in a dollar store.
I realize that when I visited the site they stated that the baskets might not be the same colors as pictured but I expected them to be the quality inferred.
I am going to return the basket and will not be ordering from this sight in the future.

Lovely people. We lost the key to our box and they mailed us a replacement cheap and included free shipping (a 48 cent stamp). I received it in a few days. Wow! Great, friendly and very quick customer service.
Their competitor The Unique Box Shop Ingleside, TX

) insisted that the $ 1.50 key had to be mailed with $ 6 priority shipping for a total of $ 7.50 — which was a total rip off.
So please shop at Topanein Gifts of the World as they have great customer service.

I am oh-​so-​reluctant to write a review about this place. It is my go-​to gift store. I have somehow gained notoriety as a great gift giver. It is now becoming a burden to live up to my reputation. So I am rescinding my status as best gift giver ever; and letting everyone know that Topanien is my secret. This eclectic little store has a rotating selection of international wares. The authentic tea and sake sets are great for weddings and showers. The jewelry is interesting and different enough to satisfy even the most bedazzled of your gem whore friends. The odds and ends of pillows, blankets, purses and whatnots are perfect for that acquaintance you don’t really know what to get. Plus, I always find something here for myself. My signature hat and necklace that will forever be complimented were found here on gift buying excursions.
So now I can breathe easy as the secret is out. Everyone will be receiving crap for gifts from this day forward.
