This is a store run by Chabadnic rabbis as a public service: they’re not in it for the money. It’s very small, has a bit of everything, but not a lot of depth or options on any particular item. The stock reflects the extremely observant bent of Chabad, and the attending rabbi will joyfully engage in pilpul as to the authenticity of their stock, and also why they don’t stock what you may be looking for. Don’t go looking for a blue techelet thread for your tzitzit there, because the rabbi will explain to you that nobody has known for a thousand years what the proper dye is for it, so they won’t risk stocking a ritual item that may not be the real deal.

Every small city Jewish Community has one of these places. This one is small, offers the observance and gift basics, and adds a limited Kosher food selection. I’m also sure what they don’t have can be ordered. And when I immediately saw the tzitzit on the guy running the place, I knew I was in good hands.

My wife first discovered this little shop. Since, we try and make a stop once or twice a year to grab a few items. While it’s not the largest Judaica store around they have a good selection of toys and other items to make it a fun stop. Also, the staff here are awesome and friendly, even for those of us who aren’t the most observant 365 days a year, they make you feel right at home.

If you don’t know your schochet from your shul, the fine gentlemen at this shop may be able to help you out. It’s a small store, tucked into a small shopping strip, with books, CDs, lots of games and other stuff for kids(stickers, toys, coloring books, stuffed animals), jewelry, trinkets, and Shabbat and holiday items. They have a petite selection of food staples like kosher meats and matzah. A grocer it is not, though, so if you need a bunch of items, this is not the place. But should you be there picking up some books or something, sure, toss a few boxes of soup mix in there. I hesitate to disclose the one unique, custom item this place sells. But to keep it a secret may be a disservice to Jewish Blazer fans all over… they have super sweet Hebrew Blazer caps. $ 15. No joke. Mazel Tov.
