The other reviews about this cart are silly. What makes this cart great is the passion of the owner and the unique home-cookin’ he’s putting in a tortilla. Yesterday, I ordered a pork burrito with collard greens, and he sat and sautéed them before putting them in the burrito! I got a few other things inside and finally added his chipotle sauce. I was really surprised by how flavorful everything was. The collard greens were a perfect addition to the strangely delicious combination of flavors happening in the tortilla. Much of what goes into the burrito is food I’d cook at home for dinner, so it’s great to have the option at lunch time too! Also, Cam is pretty much the nicest guy.

I got the Chicken Run($ 6.50): grilled chicken, sauteed peppers and onions, red quinoa, and beans. Apparently he did not have red quinoa, as white rice went into my burrito instead. I got my burrito topped with some chipotle sauce and lettuce. Before putting any of my chicken and other condiments in my burrito, Cameron threw the giant flour tortilla on the grill(his own personal heater for the winter, really). I loved the grill marks on the outside. It’s something that can transform a regular burrito into a completely new experience. I appreciated the lettuce and the sauteed peppers and onions; all those veggies proved refreshing and satisfying. Unfortunately, the main event — the chicken — was very dry. In fact, the chicken pieces got grilled to the point where I could really only taste carbon. I know one never wants to serve raw chicken to a customer, but this chicken was beyond dead by this point. The beans and rice were fine, but overall, when I cut into the burrito, everything inside just collapsed and wanted to fall out. In my opinion, the burrito needs some«glue,» whether it’s a thick sauce, stickier rice, or both, so that everything at least tries to stay together. I think adding a bit more chipotle sauce(for my burrito anyway) could have helped. Not a complete miss, but unfortunately, I’ve had better burritos. Hope my experience was an anomaly.

Good chicken burrito. Only 6.50, which is a little less convenient than the places that have rounded their prices to the nearest dollar. Ingredients are fresh and the burrito was ready in seconds. I recommend the chipotle sauce. I would say that while the ingredients/filings are quality, the tortilla itself is lacking. I’d go back.

3 stars is being pretty generous for the veggie burrito I got from this new cart in the SW3rd/Washington pod. Extra star because it’s a cart and in the hopes that they will improve. My first thought when I was handed my $ 6.50 foil covered burrito was, «did I order off the kids menu?» It was little. The tortilla was full size but there wasn’t much inside to fill it out. After a couple bites of just tortilla, I found it filled with dry collard greens, dry unseasoned tofu, rice and beans. that’s it, no sauce, no salsa? Burrito Box needs to step up their game if they are going to compete with the 2 other Mexican carts on the block.

Hurray! A new burrito cart right near my office! Tasty stuff, but as a vegetarian, I could only pick from one option on the menu–«The Green Machine,» as they call it, is surprisingly lacking in greens(which are collards, by the way). But the tofu they packed in was much better than I was expecting, so I guess I’m not complaining.(But… I am complaining, just a little.) I like the concept(i.e., healthful, interesting, unique), and I liked the burrito, and I’ll probably be back, especially if they rotate their menu once in a while. The only thing I would change are the beans– great northern beans are blah.

I came across this cart a few days back walking downtown, I was hungry so I ordered a chicken burrito. I was totally expecting a bland burrito not worth my money, but man was i freaking wrong! It was loaded with good stuff in it, I honestly can’t remember because I ate it so quick, but super healthy stuff, everything is fresh, I honestly can say it puts Chipotle to shame.
