Great service tonight by one young gentleman. Sandwich quality was good by Subway standards and $ 6 for a meal(w/drink) is fine by me.

I have ripped this Subway before as their employees were less than competent and many looked liked temporary help right off the street. However, this location has done a 180. Employees now are friendly, helpful, sandwiches always come out great, and it’s clean. I commend the owner for turning this place around and hope he continues to hire great help so I don’t have to walk up to Jimmy John’s or Big Town Hero all the time.

Clean place but horrible service. This was my second time to this subway and it was the second horrible experience. Both times it was the customer service that ruined it, but the kicker was that it was different people both times. The first time, the guy was making pretty unacceptable conversation about«fine ass bitches». The second time, it was a woman who was both unprofessional and incompetent. I mean really. …who stops serving the customer in order to simply chit chat with a coworker??? Plus, while she was chatting and ignoring me, she was leaning on my sandwich as she was making it, completely smashing it flat! I’m a big subway fan in general, but this place was horrible. Avoid it!

Came back today got horrible service again!! I hate this place so much! They have the worst employees in the world of Subway! Sure you wonder why keep going back it’s because it’s only place open when I get off work downtown. I’m done with them though never again.

Ive been coming here for months now. Ive seen the manager change and some real improvements to the staff. The bread hasn’t been better! The new M&M cookies are my favorite. There is a back entrance for people with crutches or a wheel chair, its just down the sidewalk a bit.

Walked here from my hotel one day. It was nearly empty, so that made me nervous. But, I carried on. It wasn’t so bad. The guy behind the counter made small talk and was nice enough. The veggies in the sandwich left a lot to be desired. Kind of old and soggy(it was about five or so when I went). In a pinch, it’s fine.

Totally typical Subway. Subs are what you’d expect, adequate seating, and ingredients are fresh enough. Staff are always friendly but the service is crazy slow. I eat here on a regular basis, but only because my office is close and I can usually beat the lunch hour rush. For whatever reason, this Subway can’t change pace and accommodate even a small line. They have enough staff, but they don’t seem to be organized enough to keep things moving. People are standing around, dealing with bread making(can’t this be done before lunch time?), or seem confused about their role. Don’t think the manager is usually out helping, if so, it’s not apparent who the manager is. At least be on the register and let the worker bees keep their gloves on. I realize that lunch time is busy, but you are losing customers who walk out after waiting in line forever, and I don’t even go in if there are more than just a few people waiting.

Still average Subway. Now make breakfast all day. December is Customer Appreciation Month so a few subs are $ 2. Try to avoid this location if you’re on crutches, frail or need a wheelchair. You enter down a steep stairwell.

Quick bite while waiting for room near by the Marriott. It’s clean and no one was there. Grabbed a sandwich and it was standard. No complaints. You know what to expect here. I get all the veggies that I want on my sandwich and get it toasted. Convenient location to the hotel.

I have been to this location several times and the service has been very friendly every time. What prompted me to write a review was my recent visit when I asked for a GLUTENFREE sandwich. The guy behind the counter immediately took of his gloves, washed his hands, put clean gloves on, spread wax paper on the work area and unwrapped the GF bun. He unwrapped plastic knife and used it to cut the bun open. He used a tissue paper to touch any surfaces, such as oven door, so his hands don’t transfer any gluten residue to the sandwich. I was super impressed by the level of care and efficiency. Subway is training their people well, at least at this location.

Its Subway… Employees were nice, but not too nice. Food was prepared fast.

This review is for Subway in general, not just this location. For fast food this is my venue of choice. You can see what they are putting on the bread. The veggies, etc are invariably neither soggy nor brown and the meats and cheeses are kept at proper temp. I’ve never had a doubt about hygiene at a Subway because you can watch everything they do. If you ask them to mount on the veggies the $ 5.00 foot long becomes a tremendous deal, and fairly good to eat, and good for you. I like the Spicy Italian $ 5.00 footlong because you can taste the cold cuts. You’d never expect personality nor uniqueness from one of these places, but for filling, decently healthy corporate food, I doubt Subway can be beat. And @ Chelsea — yep it’s annoying, isn’t it? I come in three times a week and almost invariably order the same thing from the same person and have to deal with exactly the same song and dance.

Slooooooooowwwwww. Unbelievable. The sandwich«artists» were great conversationalists. Very Polite. Seemed very friendly. Unfortunately they were not very motivated by making speedy sandwiches. This was evidenced by the 15 people lines up outside the door.

This Subway totally saved my ass last Sunday morning, and for that, and that alone, this location gets a hefty three stars from me. Let me share. So I was on the down-slope of a crazy-ass weekend. It started with back-to-back strip-club events — Friday’s event at Safari, and Saturday’s Bday Party at Sassy’s. These two nights of debauchery book-ended a beautiful, yet long and cold Saturday on my feet at Farmer’s Market. So after 2 nights of little sleep and lots of drinking/dolla-dolla-bills-y’all, I got to wake up Sunday and go set up a booth at a festival. Outside. In the freezing cold. I was super excited about the events of the day. World Water day, an awesome charity event/walk/concert to raise money to dig wells in sub-Saharan Africa(yeah, it can’t get much more charitable than that, right?) was looking up to be a great event. I had a biscuit sammich for breakfast, but that was a flash in the pan, so to speak, when I was confronted with sitting for hours on end in a cold/damp breeze outside on a gray/wet Sunday. After a few hours of setup and prep, the festivities were about to begin, and I realized I was super hungry. I was staring down the barrel of 5+ bitter cold hours of social interaction on very little sleep and an empty stomach. Let’s just say my outlook was getting more dour by the minute. Then I saw it. I saw someone down the row of booths munching a Subway footlong. There’s no mistaking the look, size, and shape of a Subway footlong. Years of training and commercial brainwashing has indelibly inked this into my brain. A quick dash and conferral with the munching lady, and I found that the subway at 1st and Jefferson was, in fact, open on Sunday. Score! Now I am not a big fan of Subway. Yeah, it’s way better than McD’s or BK, but it’s still fast food, and never really satisfies. Somehow I can eat a footlong and be ravenously hungry only an hour later. But hey, I had $ 5, downtown on Sunday is a ghost town, and I needed food, quick. So I grabbed my backpack and made the 3 block run for this Subway. And that’s when it started to rain. :( Wet, cold, and harried, I arrived at a lone outpost of business on this stark Sunday. The neon sign beckoned from the window. Subs awaited. Needless to say, there was one poor worker on, and there was a line. I don’t think she ever gets much business on Sunday mornings. She looked a bit frazzled, but gave me a smile. I needed that. The current $ 5 footlong promotion was a welcome one. I never like paying too much for fast food(you listening, Burgerville???). I ordered up a footlong spicy Italian(one of the few subs where the meat is not pre-portioned) with a decent amount of trimmings. With the quickness, my personal Sunday morning«Sandwich Artist» made with the sub. I dropped my $ 6($ 1 tip) and emerged back into the rain. 3 blocks(and an annoyingly cold, bone-chilling dampness later) I returned to my booth, victoriously gripping my soaking-wet, ready to be devoured sandwich-log. It tasted, like, Subway. That’s all I can describe it as. How people can eat it every day I will never understand. It was ok, with the dominating flavor being mayo and mustard. How a sandwich that packed with ingredients can be so lacking in flavor is beyond me. Seriously. Maybe I eat too many farm-fresh, organic, hormone-free products these days(which all taste amazing without any seasoning) I have gotten used to thinks having flavors beyond«salty» and«sweet». How so many veggies can be, well, flavorless… it just makes me cringe. What food value can there be if I taste nothing except bread and, uh, condiments. But on that wet, gray morning, when faced with a long, foodless day of work out in the bitter cold, this Subway sandwich may have saved my life. That’s gotta be worth 3-stars, right?
